Brendaniel:This project ordinarily would have been a welcome development but Nigeria as a country has so many pressing issues right now. Our economy is not vibrant enough to confidently see out this mega project. Even the presidency Knows the truth....but this people supporting them....I feel they are being paid to support unpopular decisions because they always support whatever they dish out......no constructive criticism......they always agree and stand by them. It's crazy!! there is no excuse for some of the hard headed support they give to this leaders who keep on inflicting suffering on the innocent ones and even they that keep defending them. I really don't understand them 3 Likes |

Biodun556: That's why they are against it. They want the SS underdeveloped so that their future land grabbing will be easy. The highway is seen as bypassing their Dot and encircling it making a future biafra a " Dot in the circle " if I can borrow from that llama Buhari. They hate this project for reasons deeper than you can comprehend and it's all tied to their future land grabbing. A developed and economically viable and integrated SS can not and will never ever fall for Biafra gimmicks. This is the reason they are bitterly complaining about and against the project . 4 Likes 2 Shares |

My other question is, must everything be about Lagos? What happened to opening the other ports down the river and making them viable for shipping? Lagos is already congested and this(if it is even completeed)is a white elephant project and to buttress my point, I ask that you go over your write-up again and ask yourself these questions : what special economic benefit would this project have on the economy that warrants spending this huge amount? Is this the right time to go about this (white elephant) project? emkz: 1 Like |

Biodun556: Who cares about their criticism? Whoever you need to explain the economic importance of the road to is either an illiterate or an enemy of progress. Whatever needs to be demolished should be demolished - I can even offer free demolition service to government if required. You can't have it both ways more so that compensations are being paid to the affected people. What should be our concern is the tradition of the Nigerian government to abandon projects. We must not allow this to happen to the coastal road project. I love the project and I can see the transformation this would be bring, to not only Lagos but all other states it connects. |

Biodun556:1. How will the road connect 7 ports in Nigeria? 2. How can it serve as alternative to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when it's a coastal road. Is Ibadan a coastal town? 3. Major cities how? Ibadan, Abeokuta, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Osogbo, Benin, PH, Uyo are major cities of SW and SS. How will these road connect these cities? Are they previously unconnected? 4. How is it not new when it is supposed to be a coastal highway. Is there an existing coastal highway? 5. Refineries are better served with pipelines connecting them to depots and ports not rail lines. Conclusion: It's obvious you don't know what you're talking about. P.S. Your map is a map of the existing road linking south west with south south and south east. It shows your ignorance that you mistook that for the coastal highway. 1 Like |
