Chief,Amunike na your secondary school senior so is a must for you to support your old boy…..what goes for Finidi was just the assistant to Peseiro, nothing more.He accepted to be assistant when Amunike said No.

Amunike time will surely come but he need to get a club ASAP.
so who now updated his Wikipedia page to add super eagles assistant manager for 2024 ?

Emmanuel Amunike should have congratulated Finidi George and move on instead of this statements.

I knew it would be difficult getting the job with Eguavoen as head of technical team. After Ghana match Amunike went to press, saying he didn’t know much about the team selection whereas it was he that recommended Nwakali for Afcon 2022 and Eguavoen accepted.

Emma should know more about coaching,it’s a circle job cuz we have seen Stephen Keshi,Austin Eguavoen,Siasia,Oliseh and Finidi now,so he should calm down.He will surely coach the team if he brings his ego down.

Sifia pain 😢

“They succeeded in tarnishing my image” - Emmanuel Amunike speaks for the first time, following NFF appointment of a new coach

"They succeeded in tarnishing my name in the media over the [Super] Eagles job. They can continue their propaganda, but I will remain composed. This job is not a matter of life and death.

"All those allegations made in the media about the Eagles job are clearly untrue, but those who recommended candidates for the job know I cannot be easily intimidated. I understand there is still animosity with these officials, but it's okay."

If it were possible i would recommend Amuneke as U23 coach or maybe even apply for the now vacant Enyimba role. I remember Siasia coached Heartland for a few games before his first SE appointment.

Honestly, if the punch report is true, i doubt the current NFF and the tech committee (surprisingly had some of his teammates) would give him any appointment. In my opinion, I think he is burning bridges with the NFF already.

Also, unrelated, who could Osimehn have been singing for in the viral video after he won the CAF POY when he did apala song?

Which league did Amuneke win? Since winning under 17 is better than winning the league why are you not clamouring for Manu Garba? The way you rate these half baked Europeans over yours in every argument is ...

I did not say league win. I said Npfl.

NPFL or you want to compare Npfl to even backwater leagues in Europe?

Ndubuisi Egbo is not even ranting

He seems the most qualified. He won the Albanian league and even qualified his team for the champions league. Dude did not rant for loosing the job. Here you have a man who could not cut it in Zambia, Egyptian and Sudanese league making noise. He is lucky this NFF president is a quiet man

Someone like me would have blacklist him from super eagles job.

He is a mediocre coach at best. He should go up his CV. Should Manu Garba win the under 17 world cup, he will progress to under 20 and I pray he excel there too...He will be in pool position to coach the super eagles soon same for Ndubuisi Egbo. If he can a European league again trust me he will land the super eagles job

"though Emmanuel Amuneke described the process as “fair”, he admitted that there was no interview to select the best candidate for the job.

`There was no interview (for the job), neither was there any talk about the job with the federation. There was no contact from the federation nor was there an offer to take the job. They have chosen a new coach, who is one of us, we just need to move on and support him,`Amuneke said.

When asked if he thought the process of selecting the candidate for the coaching role was transparent, US U-19 coach Michael Nsien, who also applied for the job, said, `It depends on people’s standards of process. There weren’t interviews, which I think is basic, it would give the appearance (that it was transparent) at least.`

Nsien, a former U-23 national team star, is positive Finidi will get a competent backroom staff to work with.

`Hopefully he is surrounded with good staff,` he said.

Another applicant, Sylvanus Okpala, who won the AFCON title in 1980 as a player and as an assistant coach in 2013, declined comments on the process that saw Finidi emerge as the winner but congratulated the former Ajax star".

I don't understand. Amunike should keep quiet while the NFF lie and smear his name all over. Amunike has no issues with Finidi and he has likely called him to congratulate him.

But the series of evil propaganda against Amunike was because they knew they were robbing him and Amunike is right to let people know that they were sponsored lies. It is very wrong to keep quiet in such situation.

I have made my point clear. Jumping up and down won't help. Has the Presidency ever hosted NPFL winners. They are forgettable and gone. Winning U17 is not beans. It took England and Brazil decades to win it. I don't remember Argentina winning it. It is that tough.

What about the World stars that have come out from U17, I can list many. What about NPFL. Very little.

FIFA technical committee studies and reports the U17. The reports are published by FIFA. The NPFL is totally forgotten.

Mbok, the U17 is bigger.

Still on Finidi George

I have been seeing all these funny comments; “He will be controlled by the NFF.”

Finidi didn't lobby for this job. He didn't call anyone or beg people to give him the job, he applied just like many other coaches. Even after the last friendly games, he didn't engage the NFF, he went back to his job at Enyimba.

The majority of you people don’t know Finidi. Ask about him in Enyimba and the management will tell you. Also, because he is calm and he doesn't do PR stunts.

You all don’t even know, Finidi will only do things that satisfy his conscience and professionalism.

He’s one of the few ex-players without baggage and controversy.

People should also stop the blackmail of the NFF, the coaches get free hands to work, and they make their decisions and all.

There are other issues with the NFF to discuss, controlling a coach is not even their priority.

It's unfair to sit in your room and conclude Finidi is a Yes Man when you know nothing about the man and his personality.

Finidi is not a broke ex-player, he invested properly when he was playing.

- Adepoju Tobi Samuel.

This now makes me understand and appreciate how he reacted in a slightly disappointed but matured way when Bruno Fernandes exchanged jerseys with Moses simon. Finidi later cleared the air that he asked Bruno for the jersey earlier because his child is a Bruno fan.
