This was the email they sent
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by hephii: 7:30pm On May 03
Hi everyone...yesterday, I got my visa, with no approval mail (AM).

So what happened was: I emailed the consolute yesterday morning at 8 about updates and my intended travel date since time was running out. I don't know if they saw it but I got a call from them around 10 am. I told her how I needed it soon so she asked when I am supposed to travel (which makes me think the call may not have been because of the email because I indicated it there. Or maybe it was, and she was just clarifying what she had read). Anyway, I told her it was supposed to be 28th April but I moved my reservations to a particular date next week [not disclosing it here]. She then asked me if I could bring my passport before 12pm that day. So I did. I got there about 8 minutes to 12. I saw that they were dispatching people's documents via DHL. Anyway, I was called to submit my passport, and then I started waiting. I was quite confused because I thought people dropped their passport and health insurance or travel date and then went on their way (I had already submitted a 6 month health insurance on my interview day). But I was kept waiting. A few others came, were attended to and left. About 1hr and some minutes later, they finally called me again (mind you, there was hardly amy queue. I came when it was empty--or maybe one person was being attended to-- and only about 4 more people came in the span of that hour while I was waiting). Sha, they called me. They gave me paper to sign receipt of my documents. And then handed me my DHL parcel, already opened. And my passport was there with my visa stamped. So that's my goodnews 😊

I'm cat A and this is my timeline. Phd with host agreement.
Applied: 04.03.2024
Was given a date: 07.03.2024
Interview: 03.04.2024
Submitted birth certificate: 04.04.24
Request for extra documents from the visa-team in germany: wed 24.04.2024
Submitted the documents via encrypted email: Thurs, 25.04.2024 after working hours, around after 5pm Ng time
Confirmed receipt of email amd documents: Fri, 26.04.24 at almost 10 am.
Asked for updates from the germany people and lagos people: Thurs, 8 am, 02.05.24
Got a call for passport submission: 10 am, 02.05.24
Got my visa stamped in passport and other orginal documents: around 1:15pm, 02.05.24

I share my timeline because seeing other people's own was very helpful. I am also so so thankful for this community on nairaland. Was able to receive encouragement and aid on various processes. I pray for you all, a speedier process too. Amen

Good morning
I applied for student copy transcript few weeks ago, and I was told it takes 3 to 6 months. Is that the right one I need?

I was told it will be sent to my mail. How then can one get it authenticated, since it's a soft copy.
Was that the transcript you used when you applied?

If you are in Nigeria I will suggest you request for transcript to be sent to local university and direct to a lecturer you know so you can get the hard copy… you need the hard copy notarized at any high court with a red seal stamp

Servus!

I understand that it is very challenging for a lot of folks this period. Keep pushing there is light at the end of the tunnel.
1. For those who need low FX rate fund their blocked account can reach me.
2. For those who need Verpflichtungserklärung ( Sponsorship Letter) can also reach me.

NB: For those who got admission and can’t get appointments cos of the Category A and B stuff, please start considering applying via Benin 🇧🇯 or Togo. It’s much faster there.

Good luck everyone.

Please how can I reach you

I have an important question about NAME.

When a person has a different name on their international passport (husband's name) and Father's name on other documents eg birth certificate, WAEC, Bsc etc.
Will this be a problem when uploading documents or even affect one's admission?
Is an affidavit acceptable?

What prompted this question, was a person's response when I read through this thread, that he/she had to do another passport, because the date of birth on his or her passport and certificates are different.

I have a question ❓ please I need an answer. I have a sponsorship letter that was given to me September last year 2023 and I am using it for my student visa prof of fund. I don't know if it is still valid and if I can use it for my appointment this year.

You mention applying for visa from other countries like Togo or Benin,

So I was asking if I can get any contact from those counties.

For the different names it won’t be an issue. All you need is your marriage certificate and maybe an affidavit if you want to be extra.

You’d have to confirm this from your sponsor.
Reason is because there are 2 types of sponsorship letters that can be issued:
The one which expires (the common option)
The one which doesn’t expire (people rarely give this)

The one which expires usually lasts for 6 months before your appointment date is given and up to 5 years after your visa interview.

So if your letter is option 1, it expired in February so you’ll have to get another sponsorship letter from your sponsor for your interview when it’s getting closer.

is it possible they past the date you applied on your visa appointment, cat B .for instance you added sept 5th 2025 and September 10th 2025 you haven't still gotten a visa appointment date .should the person loose hope and just cancel ?
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by jaeima: 9:38am On May 08
Your question is not clear.
When exactly did you book?
And if you’re still very much into going to Germany through the study route, do not cancel your appointment.

Okay .I booked the date for sept 5th 2025 , and I’m asking what if sept 10th or maybe past the date I booked for and they haven’t still called me for AD.should I just cancel because they said “ If you don't receive an appointment confirmation email prior to your
mentioned date of the beginning of your studies your registration can no longer
be considered. In this case please cancel your registration. Thank you!“
