Why are they twisting Umahi's words? undecided

Umahi only talked about the shanties within landmark axis

No matter the propaganda and wailing, this project wont stop
there are no shanties around landmark; that area is built up with hotels and resorts. You people left your villages to rot and ran to lagos, now they're referring to the ancient, brown roofs your ancestral homes as shanties cry

But they not only demolish what in their views are shanties, they also demolish high rise buildings and businesses worth billions of Naira just to start a road they know they cannot finish.

I didn't support this white elephant project, but this is why it's important to make your ancestral homes look decent.

If Igbos are telling Yorubas to go and build their villages, it looks like an insult. Now, Umahi is threatening to clean up your communities without compensations and Oladotun Kazeem is out here wailing.
Please igbos never said whatever you said there.
Tribal bigot.

The Devil himself, Devil Umahi is one of the dumbest men if NOT the dumbest man that ever ruled the State of Ebonyi as a governor. He claims to be an engineer but has no clue what he's doing. I hope he absconds from Nigeria when his term as the minister for work ends because he will NEVER be comfortable in Biafra land.
Re: Coastal Highway: It's An Insult To Call Our Ancestral Villages Shanties by flokii: 6:14pm On May 08, 2024
Umahi needs to be careful with his speech.. he can't go about pacifying Landmark owner because that one is Igbo and be talking carelessy about other property owners on same Lagos-Calabar coastal highway route because they are Yorubas. That rubbish has to stop.

MIsplaced priorities by this thieving government.
15.7 trillion naira would solve the perennial power issues we have in this country but they want to sink it into a road, while their brain-dead followers cheer them on
Leave this empty brained folks bro..

Power issues has been the biggest challenge Nigeria has been facing as an African big boy it rightly is!,,
But this guys decided to hop on a white elephant project that won’t even stand in 30 years coming

When we said there was no EIA or any sort of assessments, agbadorians started munching our heads, this is another confirmation of the fact that the hasty start of the road construction has some sinister motives........wait for the bottle necks like soil tests, pipelines right of way, other services with buried infrastructures eg the Telcos etc cool cool cool cool

I knew this coastal high way construction will bring a lot of problems...you want to destroy people houses, communities and where will they live... have you provided an alternative place for them to stay and live....waste of money in a white elephant project

...the hasty start of the project is because Tinubu son is the director of the construction company handling and constructing the Lagos calabar coastal high way road...so that is why they are in a haste and the financial benefits tinubu son will get from this project

SHANTY- a small crudely built dwelling or shelter usually of wood.
It is a statement of fact, not an insult. Should a small crudely built dwelling or hut be called a skyscraper or what is this one saying again?

There is nothing hasty about building a road that has been a dream for over 60 years. It was started in time because it will immediately connect the Eko Atlantic city which also includes the Dangote refinery to the country. Think big.

The Shanties were the Shacks on the beach not the Villages

Dave Umahi already said he grew up in a village

I hope this lawyer has not collected money from d community to deceive them? Lands within 200m from the coastline of any state belongs to the federal government, there is no argument on that, it's an extent law. Any structure within that 200m doesn't belong to any community. And which community buried their dead within 200m of d ocean?
BTW can d lawyer define a shanty for us?

From Achebe to you, it'd prolly take 100years to come to meet a non-tribalistic Igbo man
