Niger Delta people deserve development
The development of Abuja used their resources but the benefit was carried over their heads because it was too far away from them

We must learn to punish bad behaviour in Nigeria to deter others.

Here is a business owner admitting he had to count his losses.

On the contrary, we saw someone who arrogated public land to himself. He lied about his worth of investments being demolished. He claimed what he built in 6 years, was demolished in six hours and he miraculously rebuilt in 6 days.

What is 666 again?

When he arrogated public land to himself, some Nigerians took his side against public interest.

Now that it became clear he lied about the worth of what was demolished, we all move on and he said he is open for business.

He did not apologize. He is not accountable. And we move on.

He misled the public. He ought to be arrested or fined to serve as a warning.

This statement of yours doesn't show you are sensible really.

I like his positivity been that he was affected but he can't expect everyone to react or behave like him when their livelihood/investment gets destroyed.

Someone that was a former PA to Tinubu don't you think they will not settle him behind closed doors?

You guys should stop being stupid in HD. the Ariyo fellow was Tinubu's PA when he was governor, so is it not a coincidence that he is supporting the project? he would clearly be settled by far the cost of his business.

A true patriot unlike the other loud mouth losers.
The victimhood slave mentality of the landmark guy has made him look terrible. After crying that his establishment has been destroyed he will now have to pay for advertisements to tell the public that the so called demolished business is still open for business.
Regardless, he can forget it, I'll never visit that place again.

you will not be missed if you never visit the place again you are of no consequence, as if you can afford going there. we know that Ariyo was a former PA to Tinubu and an APC person, so definitely he has been handsomely settled, so that is not a debate for discussion.

Bolaji Ariyo is a nice and good man...
The ball is in Umahi and FG's court to start and complete the project on time..

I presume it is the same Bolaji Ariyo who is a former Local Government Chairman of Oshodi. Being a politician in Lagos under the Tinubu umbrella, it is simple wisdom for him to align with his boss

I will be pleasantly surprised if Tinubu completes the Lagos - Calabar Coastal Highway even if he goes another term.

I believe the rush serves the purpose of securing the beachfront for the Eko Atlantic Project which is also operated by the Chagoury owners of Hitech Construction. Sandfilling and development of the beachfront areas covered have been in the Phase 4, 5 and 6 of the Eko Atlantic Project Development Plan ans auppoaes to have been executed 10 yeara ago.

However if any attempts have been made then to take over the beachfronts under a private project, there would have been uproar and even possible litigation. Getting an opportunity to tag it to a National Interest project in the Coastal Highway gets for the Chagoury and the Eko Atlantic Project what they have been unable to get in the last 10 years. That is why the Honourable Minister let it slip when he said and I quote:

“I have directed that the beach should be shut down for tomorrow and there is no beach. The place is owned by people who are sand filling it, and at the end of the day, there is no more beach."

The place is owned by the Chagoury who are sandfilling it. It is that simple. Even if the Coastal Highway Project stagnates outside Lagos and does not get completed, the Chagoury would have completed their Phases 4, 5 and 6 of the Eko Atlantic Project while hiding under the guise of public good.

First off, you cannot get out of a high inflation led economic depression by giving out money, you simply spike inflation.

Secondly, America did not get out of the great depression by giving people money, it was dragged out of the depression by the world war which drafted many able bodied males reducing unemployment and stimulated economic activity by public and private investment in what became known as the defence industry.

When you have a high inflation led economic slump, infrastructure helps because it creates direct and indirect employment, stimulates demand in building equipment and in the medium to long term expands economic activity by allowing service and manufacturing access to more people. The Lekki corridor is an example of infrastructure led prosperity.

That's how it works. We can critique the implementation of the government's plan, but we cannot create unfeasible plans out of the blue.

Expanding money supply is a no no.

Respectfully.

Please let us stop being daft and dense. Lekki Corridor cannot in anyway guarantee properity. This was the same story about Lekki Epe what has happened since then?

Lol. That man even fail to realise that when that road is completed, his business will also benefit from the number of businesses and people that will now operate, travel and move along that corridor.

If not for the construction, how many Nigerians even knew the business exist there. Now compare it to when that place opens up completely.

He is short-sighted and above all selfish like some of our politicians who are probably his cronnies. They will willingly sacrifice the greater good for their own selfish interests

You are very high walahi. who doesn't know about the opportunities in Landmark area. The issue is not about the project it is a good idea, but the timing is the issue, we are suffering economically and the only thing in their mind is a road!!! haba there are areas or sectors in dire need of revamping, people need to be taken care of.

The Hoover Dam
The Golden Gate Bridge

Other projects built during the Great Depression include:
Shasta Dam in California
Los Angeles' first freeway
San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge
4,000 new school buildings
130 new hospitals
9,000 miles of storm drains and sewer lines
29,000 new bridges
150 new airfields
280,000 miles of paved or repaired roads
24 million trees planted to replace topsoil lost during the Dust Bowl

do you see how connected they are to helping the people with a livelihood. you see that these are projects with a sound ROI and proper EIA not preliminary as was the case of a coastal road, and all the procurement for the US contracts were awarded with regards to due process unlike the coastal road.
when you are looking to butress your argument look for the full facts don't bring half and half stories.

So the Lagos Calabar Coastal Road does not have ROI? I bet you don't even know what that means anyway. If you did, you wouldn't have typed this rubbish. It's not everytime that you have to cho cho cho inside topics that you are clueless about. Pls stop clowning grin grin grin grin

Proper EIA? Were you there when those projects were built in the 1930s? Do you know the amount of objections that were raised about the project?

The Golden Gate Bridge was the subject of a long and contentious controversy before construction began in 1933. Opponents of the bridge had many concerns, including:
Cost: The bridge was too expensive for the Depression-era economy
Safety: The bridge's geographical location was a concern
Environmental impact: The bridge would be environmentally harmful
Aesthetics: The bridge would be an aesthetic blight
Competition: The bridge would steal customers from the Golden Gate Ferries, which were owned by Southern Pacific, California's largest corporation
Military operations: The U.S. War Department, which owned the land on both sides of the Gate, feared construction would interfere with military operations
Ship traffic: The U.S. Navy feared that a ship collision or sabotage could block the entrance to one of its main harbors
Construction jobs: Unions demanded guarantees that local workers would be favored for construction jobs

Una go just the yawn rubbish online just because your Agulu package fraudster is against the project for his own selfish reasons.

Read the objections back then and compare them to now. Those with foresight went ahead and today the Golden Gate Bridge is pride of the California and the US.

You are just wasting your time. You are a failure already. No IBO dead or alive can stop this project. On FACEBOOK, the whole world already know that IBO don't want the project but they have failed. Some countries in Africa with Coastal Highway have been displaying their Coastal roads. Africa countries have been alerted that economic immigrants in Lagos don't want Nigeria to have Coastal Highway Road. Facebook has made the world to know about the project and the opposition to the project who don't want Lagos to be in the league of African cities like Jo'burg, Capetown Durban, Dar es salaam, Cairo, Algiers , Nairobi, Addis and Kigali. They don't see the great investment opportunities along the corridor from Lagos to Calabar. The only development that is giving them depression is EKo Atlantic City phase 1 and phase 2.
