One thing I still find amusing is that RCCG as at 2022 announced that the new retirement age for pastors will be 70 ; But Adeboye himself is 82 years old as at today.

How do u make a law that does not apply to u? How do people in the fold not question these things?

What is even more amusing is that unlike Oyedepo's Winners, RCCG is not a one-man church which was founded by Adeboye .

But the law does not apply to him because the law was made when he was already 80 now.

Pastor Adebayo will remain the General Overseer of RCCG until God calls him home.

That's what I'm saying now. Why did he enact a law that does not apply to him?

Like he wants others to be subject to the law that he isn't subjected to. Logically it doesn't really make much sense sha.

Anyways, I forsee a lot of issues in that church the moment he dies at old age particularly if there's no succession plan before his demise. I have a feeling the Children and grandchildren of the Akindayomi's will make a move for the control of the church and it will certainly lead to serious friction in the church.

Quick question?

Are the reserves currently growing or dropping?

I think its clear now that it wasnt the economics or market forces that was driving the concerns but more of speculation.

If Tinubu Govt make any attempt to impose tax on any religious Organisation, a major group will scream Islamization agenda while the other major group will accuse him of being a fake Muslim. But Tinubu have ballz according to Dayo, let him use that ballz to impose tax on this pastorpreneur or Alfas making mad money off their members...

No he is not.

Pa Akindayomi is the founder of the church. Baba Adeboye was his interpreter.

No, Pa Akindayomi founded the church; Adeboye joined as a member while he was still working as a University lecturer. He was the baba's interpreter at some point.

Some of the pastors in the church were surprised when the baba named him as his successor shortly before his demise.

Try and watch the movie : ENOCH on youtube, it narrates the story how he joined the church and later became the leader.

Sometimes ago I read a gossip online that the children of the baba usually go to disturb Adeboye from time to time for funds and he always does his best to sort them. (More like the feel kinda entitled cos he's heading their dad's church)

Baba will announce his successor before his death just like Pa Akindayomi announced him as his successor.

Hopefully he does and hopefully he doesn't announce a member of his immediate family, I suspect that may break the church into different sects eventally

Why would he self sabotage? Also Churches and Mosque have charity status, so they are not taxed. So if I donate funds to the Mosque or give Alfa money for prayers that money should be taxed? Soon una go sey make Tinubu tax funds given to side chicks or relatives.

People give their money on the own freewill, if they are smart enough to work and earn the money they are definitely smart enough to donate where they deem fit, Smart advice would be to tax their luxury consumptions such as PJs.

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by PDPGuy: 4:57pm On May 13
Atiku made the biggest blunder of his political career by not supporting Ekwueme for President in 2003..
At the time, Ekwueme promised to make Atiku his running mate and hand over to Atiku in 2007. But after initially ‘threatening’ to run against OBJ, Atiku decided at the last minute to back OBJ (after OBJ had to beg and beg for his support).

Not knowing that a retired General really never forgets any humiliating encounter, Atiku naively thought that OBJ would let bygones be bygones. But OBJ ended up basically ending Atiku’s career by 2006/2007.

If Atiku had backed Ekwueme to the end, he would have been president from 2007-2015.

I think it's more than that. Obj imho trusted Atiku and left him in charge while he was chasing investors overseas. Atiku could have jejely feathered his nest for 8 years but instead he tried to run a palace coup and take the presidency that would have been his in 8 years

Like when a chick is down for you, already in your crib, and you fk it all up by rushing what was already being made available to you.

It was disloyalty and unrestrained ambition and impatience that fked up Atiku imho.
