I think the depth of the Mavs have been grossly underrated.

Exum is a decent player. Good to see him recover from that German suplex Yabusele gave him in the Euroleague

They just have 3-4 guys that just play off Luka and Kyrie and thrive. They can dribble, they can catch and shoot. They have some size (Hardy, Green and suddenly Exum)

They badly missed Lively as well. The rim protection was sorely missing

On the flipside I think the nerves also finally caught up with the Mavs. Now onto game 5 and contrary to what most people think, homecourt in the playoffs is not as big of an advantage as it's made out to be especially between elite competition

Won't be surprised if the Mavs are more locked in and close out in Game 5. Certain teams I remember like the Spurs growing up they loved to end series on the road. It's why they were such villains in their earlier title runs

Though I also followed the hype to tip the wolves into knocking out the Mavs before the WCF series I'm not confident they can come back especially if uncle drew keeps on taking the pressure off Luka and KAT keeps on giving more disasterclass, I think they'll try to push it to a game 6 since there's momentum on their side plus no lively but coming back from 0-3 to 4-3 no one's ever done that before, but it's truly the perfect result for the Celtics though which also affords porzingis more time to fully recover, I think Celtics would be NBA champions not because of their number 1 seed during the off season or playoffs route but cause of the playoff experience gathered over the years from Brad Stevens to udoka, IMO that team is slowly shaping up to becoming NBA's next dynasty

They better do cause the more the series wear on the more they'll get exhausted competing against this workhorse Minnesota defence though their offence has been letting them down like in the game 1 and game 2 choke, KAT the major culprit
Minnesota now has momentum on their side after not being swept and taking the series back home plus lotta talk in the media about if this would spur on a comeback which has never happened in the NBA before

The thing is the Mavs will take that match up all day long. That match up will not wear Luka down, yes Gobert might score but he won't tire him out

Something I have not understood is why Finch has Gobert taking too many shots during this series. Even if you want to play inside out or get Luka in foul trouble, you don’t have to build the offense around Gobert.

It's certainly easier on Luka's knees also means Gobert taking a lot of shots which in a way is good.

He's already taken 7 shots in a quarter. That's music to your ears that they're trying to run their offense through Rudy cos they think they can take advantage. Fewer shots for Antman, McDaniels and KAT

Not only this series, against Denver the ball found its way to Gobert's hands too much for my liking.

Said it the other day that closing out a series on the road is much easier for good teams. You can tune out all the noise and just lock in and that home court advantage is not as important between equally matched teams as people like to think
