I mistakenly sent 20k to a wrong uba account using my opay. I contacted opay and opay claimed to have contacted the bank and claims the money can't be gotten back. Please how do I go about getting this money back. Thanks

Just pray that the receiver should be a person with a good heart......

Someone did the same thing to my banny last month,but she was kind enough to send the money back to the sender after she was called.

Fortunately,the sender happened to be a neighbor of mine whom my banny do not know...

How do you mistakenly send money into somebody's account or was it just a business deal gone wrong.
If you're sending through bank app or pos, the person's name is shown.
If you're sending through a bank transfer, the teller confirms the account name.

Negligence and lack of concentration
Before sending money to someone will verify thrice the number and the name before activating the send button!

I once experienced this shit two months ago, the pos man mistakenly called wrong account number and I Don't bother to ask since it showed name... na so I press 11k ooo.. after i discovered I've made a mistake I immediately tracked the number because its opay, I called the man and i explained every thing to him stammering...

He was just telling me to calm down that he will check it now.. to cut long story short, I still annoyed the man by telling him its palmpay due to anxiety, He needs to go to the bank to retrieve his bvn because his palmpay need it for verification...

After many bank stress he pass throughed, he later checked his palmpay and see no chi chi... omo e vex ooo

Naso I check transaction history for my phone and saw its opay... anyways he refunded my money happily ..... I also dashed him small amount though

There are still good nigerians bro, But it may be hard to retrieve yours because it's not opay and you don't have access to his phone number

Your OPay bank must be quite useless. These things happen and your bank should be able to sort these issues. Anyway, look for any UBA customer care lines and call them. Narrate your ordeal, they might help.

When it comes to money, always don't be in a haste....
That rush wey u dey rush, once the money enter wrong account, your body go calm down...

I never saw the mention

If opay had a physical branch like our conventional banks, you'll have just gone to your bank and report the transaction so a lien can be placed on their account to recall the transaction

You may not be rich but is important to have a rich man's mentality, people are not rich because they have money, they are rich because of their mentality and financial intelligence mindset like to Never lose money. Spending 100k to chase 20k does not make any financial sense and there is no guarantee after spending 100k that you will get your 20k back.

Now to play the devil's advocate, maybe the recipient has been praying to God for a 20k miracle and has even gone to church for a testimony of how Angel Gabriel deposited 20k into their account. You wan spoil their testimony ni? Cut your L and move on. Money is gone.

Even abroad, that money is gone and never coming back except if the recipient willingly sends it back to you. Learn the needed lessons and move on.

I refunded one man's 70k 6yrs ago during my service, he mistakenly transfered to my acces bank, he rushed to his bank branch same access, I was called and confirmed to have recei3vd the money, I had to transfer back to him 4times in 20's.

He sweet talked me and said he will give me something I should call him later in the day, I called and he never picked up. Lo
