Lately, I noticed a steep drop in the proportion of ladies who are active on Nairaland. Some notable ones no longer come on. Some even bid farewell like the lady from SA. What might be the cause? UI/UX design? Toxicity towards ladies? uninspiring online community? Or what?

It could be hatred for ubunja and the incel community.

Why the specific mention of the Lady from SA, have you not noticed ladies from Nigeria who are no longer active on this forum?

I saw lots of Nigerian guys trying to attract attention and play the Mr. Nice guy with that particular lady from SA, and turning around to scorn and despise fellow Nigerian ladies on this forum. Why do we always need to please the foreigner while displeasing our ladies?

She was very notable with her cordial inputs. Yes of course it's obvious well known real lady usernames generally are missing on the forum. Most especially, lately.

I don't know what you mean because the same truth I tell them here, I tell my sisters too and my mother. I have two sisters and they always hate to hear the truth but I do tell them that anyways. They react differently because they get something from me. These people here react the way they do because they don't give fuccks in a closed forum just as I too don't give a fucck. Nairaland used to be a place for relaxation after the day's hard work but recently the toxicity I read here is alarming.
Most of us just read without making any comments.
I'm a married woman and not just a girl, I wouldn't want anyone heaping insults on me because I have a different opinion on a topic.
The hardship in the country is too much, I don't want anyone to stress me further especially on a faceless forum

The toxicity,trolling, is getting too much. Sadly, the owner of this forum isn't doing much to nip it in the bud

Some of the close-minded guys here have frustrated off some of the ladies with their toxicity
