Exactly! I watched part of his meet the press interview on AriseTV this morning and was a bit impressed with his answers. I say a bit because i'd be fully impressed only when i start seeing something on ground by way of realisation of all the projects the state gov't has planned! He made mention of blocking the loopholes through which gov't money leaks into private pockets. Going by what we're seeing here with this obviously fake receipt, the governor has a fight on his hands!

The Governor also said the state gov't is targeting 287 billion naira IGR for 2024 (@23.22), and that they're on target to achieving this.

Thank you very much Bro, those people castigating Mbah have little or nothing against him. No government will demolish strategic locations like holy ghost, Garikki and Nsukka and not do want it want to do there.

Mbah will do very well..

May Enugu succeed
I was thinking it was going to be a highrise (at least 10 storeys)... The design is fair though but I'm quite disappointed.

What's stopping Nigerian Army from completing the Abandoned Highrise Hotel that is being constructed in 82 Div. Started by Ihejirika? By now that building would have been a better revenue spinner for them...

Oops! It's located in Ala-Igbo, I forgot.

It's exciting that Gov. Peter Mbah is determined to make Enugu the top destination for international conferences. I hope he truly believes in this vision because our leaders sometimes doubt they can compete with venues abroad. His commitment could transform Enugu and show the world what the city has to offer.

Gov. Mbah must ensure he leaves no stone unturned in planting flowers and trees throughout the area. The ambiance created by proper landscaping is just as important as the buildings themselves. The ambiance should match that of international conference centers abroad located near 5-star hotels. The atmosphere created by abundant trees and flowers is crucial. Like the Abuja ICC, which isn't a spectacular building but feels world-class due to its beautiful landscaping, Enugu's international conference center can achieve the same standard. By focusing on creating a welcoming environment with lush greenery, Enugu can rival international conference centers and attract global attention.

Not too enamoured with the design myself! It’s too busy and all over the place! But considering where the state is coming from….after the near-comatose Ugwuanyi years, i guess we should be happy that finally things are happening in the state!

I wonder why nothing has been mentioned of the cost!?

I love those palm trees!
If they are serious about landscaping to make it a truly 5 stars venue, they will start the landscaping next month (June). So that the grass, trees and flowers are already planted in this rainy season to maximize their chances of survival.

Just like Soludo already planted the trees and flowers at the Awka Solution Fun City in this rainy season, even while construction is ongoing in the location.

By the way, Ex-Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi should be prosecuted for stripping the building of the glass facade and marble before he left office. The building had high-quality glass and tiles on its wall throughout the 8 years of Gov. Sullivan Chime, then Ugwuanyi stripped the building of these expensive materials and perhaps sold them or used them for his own private buildings.

Thank God for this thread, we can still see what the building looked like in 2014 before Ugwuanyi stripped it down completely of every valuable material and glass.

Hahahaha

It is because Enugu is a glorified village

Objectivist04:
Why do we usually use the word 'urban' in enugu state, enugu state use the word more than any state in Nigeria and I think it is demeaning. Enugu should go with words like city or metropolis.
The word urban for me conotes a small town

I have never heard Onitsha urban , Aba urban , Port Harcourt urban it is only used in Enugu state and each time I hear it what comes to my mind is a semi rural area.
I don't know if it is only Enugu people that saw "urban" in the dictionary.

Wonderful. Nothing beats unique architectural styles. I hope the schools the governor is building will also look unique and standard because the current state of government schools in Enugu is horrible.

Nwa nsukka you keep suggesting, what have you suggested to gburu gburu that wasted eight yrs in your backward Enugu state. The new administration is now in Enugu state, why not go and suggest to them what to do to develop your backward state, instead you are busy running around as usual. Local nsukka ediot you were suggesting to Obiano as who? Who is your papa? You are suggesting your useless opinion when you should be more concerned with your useless Enugu state

XerXers:
I suggested this several times during Obiano's tenure. I also suggested a bridge over Anambra River at the point where it enters the Niger, thus opening up the northern shoreline of the Niger where there is vast empty land in Anam

There's been talk lately of the UN looking at making Enugu its 4th headquarters after the ones in New York, Geneva, Vienna and Nairobi! Hopefully this will go beyond just talk and be realised as their presence will bring so many benefits to the city! It will open up Enugu to the world (bitter, envious and toxic Nigerian politics allowing); will facilitate the issuance of visas from Enugu; will accelerate and improve activities at Akanu Ibiam int'l airport; will make Enugu more cosmopolitan; and the benefits mentioned will also help increase economic activity in the state and improve its IGR! The UN having a office in Enugu will also help the state gov't easily attract investors willing to invest in areas like mining in solid minerals and hydrocarbons; tourism (hotels and leisure parks); inter-city rail network; coal or gas fired power plants; housing; etc!

The Mba led gov't should take it as a matter of priority to ensure the ENTIRE state is secured and made safe! We do not want a repeat of those sahelian vermin going on another orgy of violence in Enugu....cowardly targeting another sleepy village far from the capital to murder men, women, children and babies! It is 'one Nigeria' that is allowing those toearags free rein to walk into any state, commit heinous crimes, and disappear never to be seen again or held to account for their crimes! Enugu state is getting this recognition owing to its commitment and activities in education! We should not allow those who don't know the value of education, or indeed life, come into the state and spoil things for us!
