Nobody is as dangerous as the man with nothing more to lose.

Nothing will ever be dangerous enough to deter an asylum seeker desperate enough to trek here from Afghanistan.
Put sharks in the channel? They will come. Razors in the channel, they ll come.

Its a losing battle. Just build processing centres in France like our very sensible neighbours have been offering for years and stop the risky crossings.

Resurgent2016:
The deterrent effect will not work if people doubt you'll ever be able to use it.

If Rishi had done just one trip and showed the potential to do more, that number will definitely come down. Many in his own party strongly opposed it, opposition parties promised to scrap it. So no deterrence effect.

Even if Rwanda takes 1,000. When you realise you could be one of the 1,000, you have to rethink the equation.

It's like using having an expensive weapon that people doubt you'll ever be able to use. Will not keep you safe.

Not supporting or speaking against the Rwanda thing sha.

Britain grew wealthy and prosperous on the back of sailing to other people's shore illegally to claim the benefits of those countries .

They only receive a pinch of what they've done to others over the years and are already irked. grin

ReesheesuKnack:
My dear sister. The major selling point of the Rwanda 'gimmick' (now this is me quoting Sir K.S) was/is meant to be the deterrent effect.

Now Imagine this scenario for a second:
200 people arrive in Dover on a boat. As soon as they approach the shores, they are given hot meals, nice fish and chips and ushered into the Bibby Stockholm. The next day, another 150 arrive. Same thing. That evening, 2 Boeing 777 planes take off with ALL 350 of the arrivals to Kigali.

The next day, most Newspapers in France and Belgium (plus UK Daily Mail and Telegraph) splashed their front pages with photos of the successful arrival of the 2 Boeing aircraft at Kigali International Airport.

What do you think will happen to those dudes (well and a few lasses) in Calais? Do you honestly think they will pay thousands of Euros to 'people smugglers' to put them on dingies? NO WAY!!

I tell you, 99% (my estimate) will ququma abort the mission immediately. Now, that is the deterrent effect.

PS: The ideal thing would have been for the Rwanda policy to be backed up with the UK foreign office expanding their consulate in France so that anyone in France who genuinely believes they are qualified for UK asylum could go to the consulate to be processed. Or in fact, the French Govt should allow the UK to open an asylum processing centre in Calais so that any successful applicants are ferried across the channel legally and smoothly - via Eurostar or HMS Belfast or HMS Elizabeth or HMS Zahradeen. I'm sure you know France will not want that. In this case, anyone who arrives at Dover in an inflatable is, strictly speaking, an illegal criminal (under UK laws).

I'm sure you have heard or read reports of French Coast guards escorting the dingies through French waters, and once they are in English waters, the RNLI rescues them.
The French have been offering to do this for years but the tories want immigration to keep being an issue.
It would be a violation of the Law of the sea to destabilise a dinghy carrying innocent people. Asylum seeking is not a crime.
It would also be a violation not to rescue anyone who is drowning in the sea.
The tories can be criminals by themselves. The French coastguard and RNLI will have no part in that. Thank you very much.

https://www.france24.com/en/france/20211129-french-minister-urges-uk-to-open-legal-migration-route-amid-channel-crisis

Did you not know about France's offer, Rishi? I m happy to have helped clear it up this morning.

Private schools like Winchester college and all the rest of them are businesses which turn a profit. They should pay VAT like the rest of us. That tax will be used to equip schools for the 93% of children in state schools. What's wrong in that? The country ll enjoy the extra 1 billion in taxes

I am very averse to subsidising the wealthy(if you can afford to send your child to a private school, then you are wealthy) .Let everybody pay their taxes, mbok.

I ,an adult cis woman, have never suffered any effect ,bad or good, from the existence of Trans women. Why are you looking at people in the restroom? I literally don't care. How have they affected your life personally? Not hearsay o, personally from encountering one
Miss Jekyll I don’t want to believe that you are as ignorant as you sound. I’m not even a woman, but I understand the dangers of having transgender people share the same toilet as my wife. Transgender people have been known to sexually assault women. Do you even read any news at all?

It is very ignorant to assume that only the wealthy take their children to public schools. Only recently, a young Nigerian boy who went to private school was killed with a sword. His parents are not wealthy, they are just an average family that wanted the best for their child. You have also been in the UK long enough to know that making private schools pay a 20% VAT would mean more expensive fees and parents being forced to move their children to already strained public schools. What are Labour's plans to fund public schools? To use the VAT to pay for 6,500 more teachers? And when the demand increases, increase the VAT again or increase people’s income tax? Our loyalty should be to the cause, not a blind following. Your so-called Labour Party has said more against immigration, but many pages ago, you said they were pro-migration. Think logically please.

I m happy to hear about any personal ill effects you have suffered from sharing with Trans Men. Any at all? None? I thought so

If you can afford private school fees, you are wealthy and make up 7% of the UK child population. You may not agree but you are. Labour plans to use that 1.3billion extra to equip state schools for 93% of the country's children.

I am not sure of Labours current stance on immigration . I do not still concede the point to you as your statement is a bit vague. Are we counting words now? What do you mean "said more"?

I missed the most important "point" of yours. Yes , yes all the sexual assaults this year was committed by transgender people( this is sarcasm).
On the contrary , Transgender people are more likely to be the victims of SA than to be sexual predators themselves. 4 times more likely according to UCLA.

The people are not sailing from Afghanistan or syria to the UK neither do they just appear in the UK. The actually come from france. They have the option of staying in france or moving to other EU countries.

If they know there is a fair possibility they will be sent to Rwanda, they will rather stay in France or move to other EU countries. The risk of being deported to Rwanda if they see it as very probable will almost certainly change the calculus of their decisions.

That france will allow the UK manage an asylum centre on their soil is a fairly optimistic thought.

You are insufferable. Just this year, a trans man was moved to a male prison for raping multiple women. Or do you want men like Isla Bryson to share the same bathroom with your daughters?

You are not sure of Labour’s plans on immigration after all the news others have shared with you? I would expect that you would have read their plans in absolute detail.

So the 20% VAT would do all that for public schools in the whole country? You should take some time to read the full policy statement of the people you are clamouring for. At least read their plans in full before you defend.

Can you just put heads together, to select a candidate that would likely favour immigrants... I wish to vote a "Peter Obi" kinda candidate... if not I would gladly opt to "to-mbom to-mbom" method to cast my vote. wink

I'm not surprised. With people becoming more aware of their rights around data protection especially since GDPR, and ICO churning out big fines to organisations for noncompliance, the industry will keep booming. Many companies were hoping the proposed DPDI bill would ease things a bit for them. Unfortunately with the election in the horizon, the bill will not pass at least in the foreseeable future, and many industry experts even fear it might not get revisited again, especially if Labour wins, as that might not be a priority for them.

BTW, I sent you dm
Oh this is great!
I have never seen it from this angle. I do understand the GDPR act is making organizations much more accountable for the data they own and so active measures are being taken to govern it.

However, many companies especially my industry (insurance) are keen on ensuring they can use their data. The volume of data, even though historical, could really help in their pricing models. The market is huge now and this is the best time for anyone looking to get into data to do so.

I did MSc Data Science but I’ve noticed the data science field is getting saturated.

Data Governance and Quality is growing and we are all learning on the job, so there’s room for improvement.

I share your sentiments about the vat on private schools. Not only the rich send their children to private school like you mentioned. Madam and I calculated how much it is to send a child to private school and that is about how much we pay for childcare in a year full time for nursery without tax free childcare or the free govt hours. We could send a child to private school, it won't affect our current lifestyle. Are we rich, I won't say we are; options for childcare are limited. If we valued private education, we could continue on this path but if it becomes more expensive as a result of this vat, we pull out and go public like you mentioned.

It's always easy to tax the 'rich' pay their fair share etc but there are disadvantages. Answers are not always black or white, a workable balance is always best. They are taxing energy companies on their profits, these companies are majorly investing outside the UK these days where all these excessive taxes and 'wokism' don't apply. In the longer term the UK loses.

Most of them do stay in France . The ones willing to make the perilous journey have strong reasons to and its not the 7 pounds for bed and board they get in benefits. Your puny rwanda threat will not stop them for 1 minute.
It wouldn't have even made me pause. These are very determined people.

Its not even up for debate, France have been offering this for years. Its not debatable.

Lol. Tumbom tumbom is not good enough. Unlike in Nigeria, elections have serious consequences here.

What do you want to achieve during your stay? Who is most likely to give them to you from past records and current manifestos(which are serious documents here)? Fiam, vote for them .

We are having some more indepth discussions here because we like politics. The average voter does not need all this information to make their choice.

Tyson Fury just lost a match the other day.
Deontay Wilder lost a match the other day too.

If those 2 above decide to ‘transition’ and declare themselves as women. Will you allow your daughter to get in the ring with them?

If you have a teenage daughter (Elsa) in year 9 or 10.
And then Jason in Year 11 decides to ‘transition’ into a Jennifer (using the Scotland model) you will be happy to have Elsa & ‘Jennifer’ compete against each other in football? Or in Judo? Or Rugby?

You will be happy for your daughter to share a hostel room (on an overnight school trip) with ‘Jennifer’? You will be happy for your teenage daughter to share the changing room, shower room and lockers with ‘Jennifer’?

On another note, I may now have to put ‘cis’ in front of my race, to differentiate between myself (a cis-Black man) and Mr Adjoa (a trans-black man) who was assigned White at Birth but has transitioned into a Black man.

And I daresay the state school your child will go to will be miles better than now because of the money that ll be raised.

Currently 8000 pounds is spent yearly on each child in a state school. 16000 is spent on a child in a private school. This encourages inequality and further disadvantages the child who is already at a disadvantage . That's not the way to build a meritocracy.

This will level the playing field a bit more for children. They can't choose their parents and shouldn't suffer as a result.

As for the wealthy tax dodgers, they are not paying taxes anyway while using our services and enjoying our social life .so will not be missed.
We ll be waving a hearty goodbye to them.
( they won't leave ,you will see, they love london and the british education system).

You are making up those other taxes now. The tories have taxed us to the highest level in 70 years while providing the least value for money ever.at least 70 yrs ago taxes were used for reconstruction after WW2. Where is the outrage on that?

Lol I'm not sure what TV station you're watching where all the people speaking in favour of Reform are skin heads.

Reality is that a good proportion of people who voted for Brexit, which includes a lot of upper and middle class towns and educated, wealthy people, will vote Reform - however, most will never declare it publicly. Some spouses won't even know that their partner voted Reform after they had both agreed to stick with the "better the devil you know" Tories 😂

The trouble with the bolded is that only 1% of private schools fall in the category of Winchester and Eton college. Those type of schools will easily absorb any VAT charge as their clientele are mostly rich kids from abroad and wealthy locals. It’s the smaller independent schools that provide support for SEND kids and provide bursaries and scholarships to thousands of gifted kids from poorer background that would bear the brunt of this policy. This is what Labour fails to understand.

According to you and Labour, anyone that sends their kids to private schools is wealthy. You fail to realise that a lot of parents make huge sacrifices to put their kids through private school by choice. Some people forego holidays, drive old jalopy cars and live in smaller houses just to be able to afford tuition fees whereas some state school parents are driving top of the range cars, live in fancy houses in the best catchment area for grammar schools and are able to holiday in various exotic destinations but according to Labour, these people are not wealthy….it’s the private school parents that are wealthy. Real politics of envy! It costs the Council about £8,000 to educate a child in secondary school. Private school parents are actually saving the government a lot of money by not taking up state school places. Instead they should be given a tax rebate as done in other European countries for saving the government money. What will now become of this your £1billion additional funding if 50% of the pupils in smaller private schools decide to withdraw their kids due to unaffordability, will Labour find spaces for them in oversubscribed states schools and how will the government fund it?

I couldn’t help but laugh at the second bolded. You are speaking from a place of ignorance if you think it’s perfectly ok for a transgender person to share public spaces with women and girls. Google Isla Bryson and see what happened when they were sent to a female prison. All hell broke loose - this is one of the main reasons why Nicola had to quit as SNP leader.

Like I said, each to their own but I will not vote Labour not whilst they are pursuing these policies.

Exactly my point @bolded. With companies trying to be more accountable and keen to use their data in a best-complying manner, the search for talent in that domain will keep soaring, and as you said, now is the best time to get in. I have realised that hardly is there anything that organisations fear these days more than data breach or any form of noncompliance that will put them under ICO investigation. In my organisation, our DPO is among the busiest persons because her advice must be sought in virtually every business area. You dare not execute a project or procurement until you get a green light on DPIA.

Oh, I've always thought Data Science is more 'restricted' compared to data analysis. Surprised to know it's getting saturated too.

Why not? So long as she is in same weightclass and doesnt have more than the normal level of testosterone in women.

These restroom arguments are giving me a bit of a headache. What is with the restroom? Lol

I find your last point a bit vacuous

Anyone is free to describe themselves the way they see fit. No one knows you more than yourself. Why would that bother me so long as its not being done to further a crime?
You genuinely believe that testosterone and weight are the only differentiators in this scenario?

As in, honestly and not just for social media argument's sake - you genuinely believe that?

This is exactly the same calculation we did and the reason why we agreed to send our daughter. 11 years ago when my daughter was in nursery I was paying circa £1,000 per month. Over a year that’s about £12,000 - private schools fees are within that range. We are by no means rich, just normal folk who want the best for their daughter in an environment where she can thrive and be the best she can.

I maintain that these cases are not enough.

You are making up those other taxes now. The tories have taxed us to the highest level in 70 years while providing the least value for money ever.at least 70 yrs ago taxes were used for reconstruction after WW2. Where is the outrage on that?
I'm cringing reading your comments regarding this trans stuff, may be because I have 2 girls and can't imagine them sharing same washroom with trans males or pitching them against them in physical competitions. By the way, how many cases will be enough to convince you?

Of course, actual news of women getting r*ped by transgender people including minors is not enough for you, but the link you shared about "research” of transgender people possibly getting sexually assaulted is enough.

No, I’m not making things up, I asked you a question, where does it end with taxation?

Anyway, like I don talk before, I now understand the way you think, so this is where I bow out of this conversation.

Money does not always solve all problems, sometimes you just need to reform (not a skinhead o and not voting reform). You cant tax your way to prosperity.

A Chinese diplomat once said the UK is not competitive, it is just a country that you just have to get along with. Why? because of its history, pomp and pageantry. The world has changed, other countries are stepping up, there are alternatives in Asia, ME and technology has made things easier. I can get Oxford education sitting in my apartment in the UAE (i wish). Times have changed since Labour was in govt and since I started following British politics they seemed to me like most of their policies are always in hindsight (advantage of being in opposition). Their manifesto seems to be vote for us because the torries are bad, haven't seen any proper manifesto. We will do this and that without the how.

I don't believe what we need now is more taxes. More reform and efficiency is needed like getting people who don't want to work back to work. Efficiency with public service, cut down the cost of government, etc.

Gbam!!!

Generally, the best public schools are in the wealthier or better sections of towns and cities. If the number of students enrolment in public schools increase from this section of the population due to catchment, less space for students from the other sections.

Wow!!!!!
Are you for real?
So weight & testosterone level is what make ms a woman a woman.

Is this what leftist wokeism has done to you? (Well, it’s you that described yourself in that way above, not me).

Restroom: Because that is where we take off our clothes totally in the locker room before we move into the bath cubicles. Missjekyll is happy to take off all her clothes in the female locker room, in the presence of a human with huge muscles, Big, long fat d*ck who self-identifies as a woman.

Missjekyll is happy for her 16 year old female daughter to sleep on the same room (possibly share a bunk bed on a school trip) with ‘Jennifer’ (who was untill last week, Johnie and still have a 7inch d*ck) but has self-transitioned into a ‘girl’

So, according to your argument, testosterone level validates sex/gender? So if we pump Beth England, Nikita Parris, Samantha Keir, Betty Meads, Earps etc with enough testosterone, taking their testosterone levels to above 12.8mg/l then we can put them to play against Vinícius Jnr, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Jordan Pickford and Cole Palmer etchuh

If we pump Coco Gauf and Swiatek with 14mg/ml of testosterone, then missjekyll will chuck them on the court with Djokovic, Nadal and Alcaraz (Afterall they have the same weight and similar testosterone levels).

As someone mentioned, I think you are just chasing clout with this your line of argument, I will be shocked to my bone marrows if you actually sincerely believe in your heart of hearts what you wrote up there.

Wow… just wow!!!!
