CBN withdraw the license of Heritage Bank today. Therefore all the customers affected are required to go to the bank on Wednesday 5th June with their passport and and National ID card to fill the necessary information and their money would be transferred to their other bank account.

It seems labour is gradually dancing to federal government's 62k...hmm it's well..plus these governors are just our problem when has minimum wage cut across board to even reflect on pensioners wages, what a blatant lie..the higher you go on the level the smaller the AMT from this minimum wage, is added to your pay...crooks..

Expect new minimum wage at N70,000. All these negotiations is just to buy time and delay tactics waiting for June 12 celebration and announcement.

its true oh . The early allocation was done in order for States to pay workers before Salah days but unfortunately Rivers is not a Muslim state

As we continue to reform the economy, I shall always listen to the people and will never turn my back on you.

In this spirit, we have negotiated in good faith and with open arms with organized labour on a new national minimum wage. We shall soon send an executive bill to the National Assembly to enshrine what has been agreed upon as part of our law for the next five years or less.

In the face of labour’s call for a national strike, we did not seek to oppress or crack down on the workers as a dictatorial government would have done. We chose the path of cooperation over conflict.

No one was arrested or threatened. Instead, the labour leadership was invited to break bread and negotiate toward a good-faith resolution.

POLITICAL CRISIS IN RIVERS STATE.
STATE OF EMERGENCY LOOMING.

The tenure of the 23 local government chairmen in Rivers State ends today.

There are indications some of the chairmen plan to comply with the recently amended local government law, passed by the Martin Amaewhule-led Assembly. Recall that the law extends their tenure by six months if the Governor does not conduct local government elections. But, Justice D.G. Kio of the State High Court nullified the law, saying it was inconsistent with the 1999 Constitution and the Rivers State Law No. 5 of 2018, which fixed the tenure of Rivers Council chairmen and councillors at three years. Justice Kio had ruled that any attempt to extend their tenure was unlawful and a violation of their oath of office.

However, the chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd says his administration will begin the distribution of farming equipment such as Matchetes, files, etc. to farmers across the 14 wards in the Local Government Area from Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Council Secretariat in Emohua.

Dr. Lloyd said the gesture is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, to enhance agriculture and ensure food security .

He said the Tuesday distribution will be for farmers from ward 1 to 7, while wards 8 to 14 will have their turn on Wednesday the 19th.

Recall that the chairman of Ikwerre Local Government, Samuel Nwanosike had said that he stands by the local government's amended law.

everyone should be careful on Wednesday..if possible stay at home and observe....i saw a video of someone saying they will storm some local govts to forcefully remove the chairmen there..while some want to share Cutlass..please we should not be caught in the cross fire ...make u nogo turn collateral damage in your quest for daily bread.
