He even proposed that Anioma people be merged with middle belt, Bornu, southern kaduna and the less, i wonder why no Anioma or delta people sees it, we cant merged with the any region that have to do with north. I am from Okpanam, i am pure Igbo, we are known as ika-Igbo. aceman88: |

Wallade:The Itshekiri leaders have already assent to be joined with the West due to their mistrust of Ijaws ....This is contained in the 2014 confab reports as Well as the Okun people of Kogi and kwara state..... It's the minority of the Old eastern region that are jittery of going back to Enugu as Capital ... |

GUNITGuy:If so, will the Itsekiris leave Delta to be relocated to the South Western region? Do they want to remain in Delta yet be classified as Southwest Region? That proposal is not logical and devoid of geographical understanding |

Wallade:The Itshekiri are located along the Coastal boarders from Delta to Edo to Ondo to Lagos ..... It's the best proposal so far ....Let people of common ancestry Rule themselves into Regions with full control while the Centre controls things like military and immigration ...Let me let you know something it's going to ignite healthy competition as it was in the past .....Once your region is not advancing you would be held responsible for it |

ILoveNG:You are wrong, on the contrary the eastern region actually prefer regionalism, and are praying fervently for it to come to see the light of the day. with regionalism we will be able to attract government presence, because we will be able to control our resources. |

yemmit90:says who? Both the off shore and onshore revenues belong to the Niger Delta. You can argue that if you want. Every region must control its resources. Anything short of that is not regionalism |

aceman88:It is subject to their wish, not going to be forced. So these people would be the ones to decide. Of course, there would still be relocation depending on interest alignment even after regions are outlined and/or separated. |

Possibility of break up of Nigeria if north refused regional government system and fiscal federalism. At least, the north can yield to additional state in the southeast, but for resource control, I don't see north yielding. North is in overwhelming majority in the NASS due to the excess number of states created for the old northern region. |

This bill seek to introduce among other things, new serious political and ethnic problems of a dangerous dimension to the already existing problems in the country. Please let's say no to such bill. |

I will prefer we in southern Benue ( idomas) to join the south eastern region. We have a good relationship with enugu in the border and Igbos in general. More so, south east has gas, they will be richer than the south south coupled with industrialization, science and technology, trade and commerce. I even love east more than North, this is because, there won't be religious war like the way north east and north west are accustomed to. They are christians like we, they dont kill in the name of god. |

Mr Fapohunda, it is not easy to adopt your proposal. Too many Western powers are interested in keeping Nigeria in it's present state. The western nations know that regionalism will stop them from getting cheap resources from Nigeria. Be careful, Sir. They are watching you. Cheers. |
