Damn!!Casualties keep happening on this bridge.i was driving around 4pm on thursday on this bridge and d same inferno happened.as emergency vehicle are stationed there so thus fire service truck.i hope is the same incident and nt another one.cause what i saw burning was nt suv neither rav4,coupled with the time diffrnce.GOD save us frm unfortunate incidence as this.

Infernos start from small fire and if you are not fast and you're too panicky it will escalate... I'm speaking from experience as I would have lost my car if there was no fire extinguisher and I wasn't composed

what the guy said was not far from the truth,a 2015 Camry was set ablaze in front of our farm entrance last year by robbers who snatched it and the tracker stopped the car,they just opened the fuel tank and put fire inside and drove away with their getaway car.the burnt scrap is just sitting there,who knows in this tinubu economy I may be tempted to call iron condemn people and collect money if things continue like this.

I was once in this situation and my brand new fire extinguisher failed, over five more fire extinguisher from other motorist that came to intervene also failed, it was sand that good Samaritans around used to quench the fire when I have already lost hope of recovering the car.

Do Toyota and other companies make cars specifically for Nigeria? If yes ... then it is fair to say we are receiving sub standard cars. If no ... then the cars sold in Nigeria are sold in other countries. Do the cars in other countries be going up in flames like they do here? Are fire extinguishers required in the other countries? It is clear that the cause of fires is local. I strongly believe it has to do with the mechanics and wire guys who take short cuts and have no regards for consequences.

Look at the intensity of the fire..... It's evident it was set off... Fires as a result mechanical or electrical fault takes longer before it's engulfs.... It's a SUV, which have mechanisms from preventing fire spreading rapidly if it starts from the engine..... I can go into more technical detail but it will be long

I cited an example of fire extinguisher when I made my comment, I wasn't speaking to cars only. There are factors to this, in my own case I only went to change my brake pads, not only was I sold a substandard break pad but it was also very expensive cos it was packaged and sold as original. That same day, on my way home from the mechanic, the assumed original break pad resulted in my caliper having issues. What saved me was that I was about to use the roundabout in a busy area where people spotted the fire coming out from one of the tire's side and raised alarm and luckily I wasn't on AC on that faithful day unlike me.
