Raise am! Raise am!! Raise am!!!
Banner number 18 Congrats chief. I can't believe a lot of people actually thought the Mavs would win this finals when they clearly overachieved imo. Luka is on his way to becoming great especially with future trades and youngsters like lively but at least the Dirk disrespect would die down for some time. Anybody coming from the WCF was bound to lose to the Celts after the biggest threats were removed early.

38 ke? Our last championship was in 2008.
Yes and the one before that was in 1986. From 1986 to 2024 is 38yrs.

You guys won in 2008 and 2024, thus 2 titles in 38yrs.

At least the Kyrie agenda don die grin, most skilled player ever where dy average 15 points for finals.

Acrobatics no be skill, the skill is in scoring efficiently with the least amount of effort.
A lot of media content is for clicks. You would be a fool to base your life on online advice without doing your homework first. Shout out to Mase who kept it 100 and gave Kyrie his flowers, but also said the guy has several areas where he is not elite. It is what it is. At this stage of his career, I dont think Kyrie will change those aspects. And he still a good person. But he is not the top PG, top guard, top whatever folks were trying to make him.

Trust me, some have idolized him because of the media, many do because they have seen him play. Kyrie is good no doubt about it. His handles are tight almost too tight that you often forget Iverson's are insane. Kyrie still has the best handles, what is off is it's translation to wins, his inability to carry a team and his defense. The best PGs have steal titles, Magic, CP3, Curry, Iverson, Stockton, Gary Payton, the very good ones, Rajon Rondo, Baron Davis & Victor Oladipo, even the upcoming ones, Daaron Fox & Dejounte Murray all have steal titles. What is Kyrie's problem? He has neither steal titles nor scoring titles, no MVPs, no final MVPs. So why give him a crown based on handles or a game 7 shot? Like I said, I am a victim of his flashiness but no more. The results speak for itself.

He needs to see a professional in the summer.

How do you jump from 28ppg in Dallas to 14 in Boston.

I'm almost led to believe if they ran into this same any team outside Boston they might have stood a better chance. Not cause of Boston's personnel but actually the fans clearly in his head
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 3:56pm On Jun 18, 2024
Spare a thought for the Sixers GM that passed on Tatum and Brown and drafted Simmons and Fultz with the #1 pick instead

If he ever shows up in Philly he would probably get Mussolini treatment from Sixers fans

For someone who now identifies with his Indian origin, Kyrie should know better than to disrespect tradition and culture. The day he returned to Boston and stomped on Lucky, he not only infuriated the fans, he inherited bad luck in games against the Celtics.

Kyrie has continuously tried to push narratives about the Boston with the aim of demarketing and discouraging players, particularly free agents from joining the team but somehow, Holiday and Porz have had nothing but spectacular things to say about the team, fan base and City. The City and fans are clearly in his head. Infact, Holiday raved about the fan base yesterday.

For those who know me, I am a big Kyrie supporter and will always be. I have always argued for him and will continue to but he needs to leave Boston alone.

This your math is not "mathing". We won a championship in 2008 and now 2024, that is 2 championships in 16 years, not 38.

If you were typing this before yesterday's win, then your math will be correct.

Kyrie raised points other players have raised, so its not like he said something new. Jrue of course will be very comfortable with Boston, his wifey already helps him there. But Boston will always be uncomfortable for guys like Kyrie, even Jaylen who I think has just learnt not to say much. Both those guys are very cerebral, as in they think a lot, and they already dont fit in much among NBA players. Black folk tend to be easy going, and they will forget all the slights and disrepects that come your way in a city like Boston. Except guys like Kyrie, Jaylen who will just sit down and analyze over and over grin

And Im not blaming Boston here, it just is what it is. I hope the Jayson/Jalen duo can handle this success as well as they handled the past failures!

PS, we are still waiting for the meerkat reunion, pls dont dissapoint

It's due to His age I said we all knew it was coming. It was only a matter of when but it's still sad nonetheless.

How will we describe Kobe's own then? But I feel you, there is a sense of loss of greatness and someone you feel you knew. Maybe I've just seen too many recently and my perspective has shifted.

Kobe's is a tragedy. A young man cut short in His prime in an avoidable accident should never have happened.

Some people argue they wish Willie was more vocal in support of civil rights movement during his time but Willie did his in a different way. He did not like to dabble into politics and stayed away from making public comments about it. One thing we can all agree on is that through his performance on the field, he paved a path and built a strong foundation of inclusion for black and minority sports players in America. Few years ago, I read his book, "24, life stories and lessons from the hey say kid" and Willie did not stray too far from baseball and that was who he was.

I hate when people say that as not everyone is cut out to be a Jackie Robinson or a Bill Russell and that's absolutely fine. I'm sure if you asked the players and people of the era, they'll let you know of the many works He did behind the scenes.

I'm sure respects would have been paid to Him had the NBA finals still be ongoing. Black and Minority players in the Big 4 North American sports should be ever grateful to the Likes of Willie without whom they won't be enjoying the riches they currently are. I need to pick up that book and read it too as it sounds like a great read.
