Most likely as a result of heatstroke, imagine walking long distances under temperature as high as 45°C. There's a current heat wave in Saudi Arabia and other parts of the middle east. Even with numerous cooling stations provided across the states where hajj is being performed, people are still passing out from exhaustion and dehydration. Regardless of the weather, there's no year people from across the world don't lose their lives during hajj. RIP to the departed.

You can go at your own convenience. Now compare that to hajj where millions of people from all over the world converge for pilgrimage which involves walking long distances for days. Some die from exhaustion, some die from stampede, some with terminal illnesses go there hoping to spend their last days there.

Very true, but its a yearly occurrence now, some families feel sad when their loved ones go on this pilgrimage because they are not sure if they'll see them again.

Well written... But would the religious fanatics in Nigeria listen to common sense? Someone died in Saudi Arabia, I bet they'd say it's "the will of Allah" because she died in Mecca... They won't investigate and they keep wasting taxpayer's money on Hajj, while the economy is crying for intervention.
