Everything humans are expected to do for themselves...Our country makes it look like only God can make it work.
So When you see and experience these things working in developed countries...You Naturally disturb God less.

Both on the right and left side of the Ibadan expressway is filled up with churches and other various worship centres who bought several thousand plots of land just for the sake of building a place in other to swindle people and you begin to think what is really the problem with us as countryhuh
The Lands will still be lying fallow, how many industries have the Nation attracted itself... We have more than enough Lands that can be use for farming, same goes for Factory...

The big question is who is responsible for these amenitieshuh Citizenry, Religious Leaders or Government

These are the people who pollute minds with their articles, making it seem as if God isn't answering prayers in Africa. You live in the UK—why not consider why the suicide rate is higher in the West compared to Nigeria and other African nations, despite the supposedly easier environment? Folks, let's continue to pray and ignore people like this individual who wants you to believe that prayer is a waste of time.

Moving abroad is the answer to all their prayers. You don't campaign after winning an election.
Only APC does that.

Baltimore. How many of this Nigerians are looking for "kpali/pali". A lot of diaspora Nigerians still neck deep in "Church-ism" are mostly immigrants who haven't finalized their immigration status. Fix that problem and a lot of the Nigerian diaspora Christians cool off with the fervent Church-ism

You are wrong. People still hold on to their faith even while outside Nigeria.

This article is sham
Is it only the Christians that travel out of this country.

Let me tell you even some Western countries are built on religion.

The church as you know it is one of the strongest body on earth.
Menrion the western country that is built on religion.

mant still go to church, because its a way of connecting, and meeting familiar people.

In Nigeria, no light, so instead of staying at home and its boring, they go to church. Some go to church to dress well, others to meet people. it depends on why they go.

I dont like going to church even in Nigeria, but i go, when i want to to have converstaions with God mainly, or praise and sing to the name of the almighty, my soul will be happy to do so.

Some go into wild prayers just because they wanted a better life or relocate. But instead of keeping the fire burning, they tend to relax after their prayers are answered meanwhile the bible says pray without ceasing.

What they see as comfort over there is a normal way of life to those they met there and those aspiring higher are not happy about that situation, they want something more comfortable. If you now keep the fire burning, you would go extra miles. Maybe before you left, 3 square meal wasn't certain but on getting there, na food dey find you. You drive a new car on loan and a loaned house you call mortgage, you now relax. Meanwhile, those who want to achieve more see such as a normal thing in life so, it doesnt freak them. They want to go higher. Prayer of faith, is a secret not known to many. If you pray without having faith, you're deceiving yourself. Those who pray to (seek) God must know first, that He is(that He exists), and also that He's a rewarder of those who diligently(pray without ceasing, day and night) seek Him.

This is a reason many don't even end up achieving anything or much. Tobi amusan was a.k.a prayer warrior in her university. Even the day she achieved that feat, she had an ankle injury but she prayed all day, all night and practised a little. That was when she achieved her best and set a new world record. Suffice it to say she's an mfm member. Many see her blazing trails without knowing her secret and that's why the world athletics body is still in awe. They keep all eyes on her. At the slightest opportunity, they subject her to a test because having studied her, she seemed too exceptional to them and for someone to be in her shoes, she must engage in doping.

Before going to America, I prayed and fasted. I said I must achieve what none of my generations in my country had ever achieved before and I want to be recognised for this. When i was among the 2k invited from across the globe and the only one from the entire black africa, including Nigeria, I remembered that prayer when inside the DAAR Hall in Washington DC opposite the white house where Barak Obama came to deliver a motivational speech. No single Nigerian was in attendance, none from black africa, except me. I pray everywhere...in my hotel, on the plane, inside car, on train...you'd just notice my mouth is moving once in a while.
Prayers should be a continous practice and a way of life. If you must achieve more.

I once told a friend that 98% people that go to church in Nigeria, do that for 2 reasons
1. Either something is pursuing them or
1. They are pursuing something.

Take those two things away, they will stop going to church.

The guy fought me. Long story short, the guy is in UK today but he has stopped going to church.

Which prayers is God answering in Africa?

Things are changing fast and religion is dying fast.

The God that created Africans is same God that created other humans. He isnt unfair and unjust.

He has given all humans everything they need to survive and live good lives. Why is Africa backwards?

Because we would rather keep praying for good life and heaven than learn and work hard.

Nah bro. A normal thing for naija.
We are very religious/spiritual.

As per miracle seekers, the country and society has contributed to it.

Look back at the early nineties.... Nigeria has always been very religion centred especially Christianity. And back then the citizens had far less troubles that warranted them to go seek for help in churches.
Re: Why Do Nigerians Become Less Religious When They Travel Abroad? by Bullfallo(m):
Check your bible and the history of the jews. They always remember their God when they are in trouble from other nations or in poverty.
But the moment God delivered them and they have abundance they will quickly forget God.

Until they are punished again and again.

It’s natural for people to remember God when they are in problems. But Nigeria religiousness is not really poverty. The people that are going to church and paying the biggest tithe and contributing money for those projects you are seeing are not the poor church members.

Infact the poor members are not even contributing anything to church development. But the rich and educated members

smiley The important thing is. Do you know God. Have you accepted Jesus as your savoir, do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God that he came into this world to die for your sins, and that he was raised again from the dead on the third day. Remember this world is not by accident and its only a journey. This world is temporary, you are not going to take your achievement to the beyond.

Time is running out, make sure you know Jesus and accept his work on the cross. smiley

This world may suddenly come to trials and tribulations, what is your foundation and your rock.

While people go about working and doing what they love, do they know America may soon go into war, that the third world war can start tommorow. Or do you not know the times we are in, better have the sure foundation. Even if you do not attend church make sure you know the almighty.

Not all Nigerians..

My family and I moved abroad and we don’t joke with church

My broda never visited church for 5 years in Nigeria..
When he arrived abroad.. he started going to church regularly

My sisters go to church regularly here

Me too I don’t joke with church

My Dad is an elder in church here in the states

I’m not speaking for general but we have thousands of Nigerians abroad going to church

Ask the average Nigerian to describe their idea of God and Jesus and 99.9% of them would describe a WHITE man.

When they travel abroad, they are surrounded by white people. They are in heaven. The fact that 100% of the problems plaguing them in Nigeria has already been solved by the white people in the new country HELPS.

Religion reigns SUPREME where poverty and ignorance is prevalent. The poorer and less educated a people are, the more susceptible they are to religious MANIPULATIONS.

That's why the core Northern parts of Nigeria is a hot bed for religious EXTREMISM. Poverty and lack of education makes them easier to brainwash.
Funny but mostly true.
Re: Why Do Nigerians Become Less Religious When They Travel Abroad? by Greattha: 2:56pm On Jun 23, 2024
Your opinion on the first paragraph isn't right. The average Nigerian doesn't see the white man as god.

All others are true.

Most of the prayer points have been sorted by good governance and working systems.

Remove hell fire from the picture... No body will go to church again

Changing of environment, period. When you get out of Nigeria and moved to a place where they're a bit civilised, you will realise that prayers and curses are nothing but waste of time, energy and saliva. Only few of us who are still in Nigeria understand this.

Eloquently put, poor people are always seeking solutions through the wrong means and thus spend most of their time engaging in the wrong activities to achieve their goal.

I think the reverse is always the case. Yes, they seems to pray less because in reality, they don't know how to pray in the first place. Shouting unnecessarily reduces and when shout is being removed in an averag Nigerian prayer, they hardly know what to say.

I think they are even more religious when they get there but now in a more focused way.

Do you not see that abroad people hate God and do not want to be reminded of Him, since as you see they do all the evil evil and abominable things that He hates? Eg self trusting, self loving, God hating, murder loving, whorr filled, homosex, beastiality, in slaviing others, pride, arrogance etx
Wait, make man no trust himself??😏 abi make man no love himself?😒

The religion really wants you not to trust yourself or love yourself. Thank God I broke free from such mentality.
Re: Why Do Nigerians Become Less Religious When They Travel Abroad? by Anatolia: 3:03pm On Jun 23, 2024
We have abused religion in Nigeria. Instead of encouraging people to take actions on a regular basis, our pastors encourage them to pray. Actions create prosperity not prayers while prayers helps to build a strong relationship with your father. I think religion is used as a decoy to be lazy or deceptive hence no results.
