See my immigration timeline below. I guess every case is different, so people have different timelines.

K-1 petition filed: August 2018
K-1 petition approved: March 2019
K-1 visa received: August 2019

Adjustment of status (AOS) filed: September 2019
AOS approved: January 2021
Conditional green card received: February 2021

Lifting of conditions (LOC) filed: November 2022
LOC approved: April 2024

Naturalization application filed: October 2023
Naturalization approved: April 2024
Oath ceremony: May 2024

Yes.

USCIS does not prioritize the LOC. They extend the validity of the conditional green card for 48 months when you are eligible for citizenship one year after you file the LOC.

So, the sensible thing to do is to file for citizenship once you are eligible and it will speed up the LOC since they need to approve that before approving citizenship.

If you can meet all the stringent requirements to secure a B1/B2 visa at this COVID period, then visiting him may be a good idea. Where that is not a feasible option, the best bet will be for him to visit Nigeria and meet with you and your family members with different pictures to enable him go back to the US and file a k1 petition for you. If I were you, I will convince him to visit Nigeria. Either way, you still make the decision.

My fiancé’s family wants us to do traditional and a small church wedding (family members only) but no court wedding. Marriage cert is not required for K1. In fact, no form of marriage is expected.

Recently its been moving really fast have seen ppl who got approved in less than 10 months and are in the US in another 2 months, so you should be looking around 12 months based on current activities within uscis

If you work illegally or before you get your work authorization it will put your immigration journey in jeopardy, if working immediately after arrival is a priority K1 is not a good option you should have apply for CR1/IR1. I do not know of any job that hires without legal paperwork and I guess no one will provide any information in regards, on a public platform like this.

First requirement is for you both to have met atleast one time within the last 2 years, have you ?

Good, gather all your evidence of genuine relationship and get the k1 petition application online. Send in your application and hold on for your approval. Its not hard when you have all the requirements.

Does anyone the process or the wait time if we would like to transfer our existing K1 visa from one country to Nigeria? The recipient is a Nigerian but has resided in another country for the last decade. After denials, we are considering transferring but weighing options of cost and waiting time.
Any information will be appreciated.

If you know your fiancee met the poverty guideline, then you only need the most recent tax year not 3 or 2 years tax transcript for your interview.

The problem is that Lagos embassy is currently not accepting cases from NVC, not just you alone, a lot of people are patiently waiting too, so I can only advise you to wait until they issue any update.

She need to provide the transcript of the two years and addressed a letter to the explaining she didn't work the third year

Make sure you deep dive into the root cause of the denial and correct that first. If that is not done transferring your case won't change anything

We submitted our case in April 2024, today I got my K-1 Visa approved in London Embassy. Glory to God.
