Celebrating Street light in 2024? To think these are the same people enjoying several state of the art facilities in lagos and all they do in return is to start making comparison with New York, Paris and London.

Those of you saying why are they celebrating street lights in 2024, I hope you won’t claim to be from Lagos cos I can bet anything many areas of Lagos lack functioning street lights especially highways.

That guy up shouting SW. how many states in the SouthWest can boast of having installed and functional streetlights of up to 60% all round the state?

Nonsense talk!
95% of streets in Lagos do not have street lights.

Oga, I'm not Ibo and I live in Lagos too.
Talk true, do you have street lights in your street? I am talking about your own street gan gan ... not your neighbour's street nor a nearby highway.

Again, do you have public water supply?

Now, are you telling me that residents of street will not rejoice if Sanwo-Olu suddenly provides them with bright street lights and free public water supply?

Majority of those guys laughing at Abia people are from very archaic villages.
They all just hide in Lagos to claim enlightened.
Many of them can't even travel to their villages. One need to travel by road to see the rut in their states to truely understand that their reasoning is as a result of their upbringing.

Werey dey disguise. When a typical ipob talks, one can easily perceive it from billion lightyears away. The same Lagos he can't leave for his village does not have street lights. So Otti has installed street lights in all the streets of Abia.
Abia and Anambra are struggling to pay 18k minimum wage and Abia owes 11 months salary. Yet it is Lagos that pays 70k without any outstanding arrears that ipob miscreants want to protest.

Mr. I live in Lagos, I have been to all LGAs in Lagos in my 30+ years living in Lagos. I tell you that not up to 40% of the entire Lagos state has functioning street lights.

As we speak, majority of the highways in Lagos lack functioning streetlights.

Most of the streetlights installed in some areas or streets were done either by the community, a Senator or the house of reps member of that community.

My street in Amuwo Odofin, the streetlights installed was done by our community. The one on my Mum’s street in Surulere was installed by Femi Gbajabiamila just last year.

Those streets have never had street lights installed by the government since I’ve known those places. The one installed in my Mum’s street in surulere in the past was done by we the community.

Don’t come online to paint a picture of how SW is not in poverty or a better region than others. You and I know so well that it’s all facade.

If you are sure of yourself, counter all I said above with facts.

I have never been to Ondo for a stay before and I cannot attest to that you said about Ondo. But I have driven past Akure/Ore at night and it was dark as hell.

This isn't my business

My business is that there are more pertinent issues to solve that this rubbish

There are thousands of civil servants in the state, which means if Otti had decided to pay their salaries based on thar 30k minimum wage, thousands of families would have bewn touch, which in turn could affect at least a million individuals

It's even funny that this street light isn't just in a particular area and not the whole Abia state, plus this sam Otti spent 1B on foods in 6months only to treat them this way

U wanna compare this with Lagos "that provides free healthcare, subsidised public schools for all, irrespective of ethnic origin, and free soup kitchens for people experiencing poverty, and funded 80 innovative start-ups for Lagos youths between 2020 and 2024. A state that gave out almost 20,000 tablets to pupils from middle and low-income families to enhance their education, not minding their ethnic nationalities. Oh yes, please fact-check me" Reno Omokri

I have lived many places in lagos and I can tell you without iota of doubt that my hamlet in the village in the east is far more beautiful, serene, aesthetic than 95% of what is in lagos. When we say things like this, I looks like a joke and boast to some people . Standards in the east is higher than in lagos. If not for the federal government efforts nothing would have been written about lagos

We the people in Anambra state are waiting for the Taiwan of Africa that Soludo promised. He is very eloquent when he speak but there is no greater scam than that man. Okezie Ikpeazu and Charles Soludo are dragging incompetence. While Okezie didn't nothing and proudly so, Soludo is covering his incompetence with propaganda

These people are existing in the 19th century.

Even the core northerners will not be celebrating such mediocrity .

I even dare to say that most northern state capitals have more better functioning public amenities like good roads, adequate drainage, pipe borne water and street lightning .

These are the crass villagers that just discovered street lightning but will be doing busy body over the affairs of other states and the FG.

Pathetic.

These same Abia people were jubilating over the govt awarding Julius Berger a road contract.

We have been asking you guys to show us just one legacy project from Anambra during the disaster known as Obi but up till now nothing.

So it's these crass village mgbekes and mgbafors that wanted to foist a failure on the entire polity.

Thank God for Lagos and Nigeria as a whole for opening your eyes to civilization.

A few weeks to Nigeria's independence from Britain, a law was passed by the Eastern region govt banning nudity in public places.

Free healthcare in Lagos?
20,000 tablets to pupils?

I would like you to reference where you got these stats from.

Have you forgotten the deputy governor in Lagos state spent 2.1bn naira on office supplies for just a year?

Free soup kitchen? Where?

Also note, I’m not here to defend any bloody politician or state. All I’m busting is your lies that SW is an eldorado when compared to other regions. I have been fortunate enough to visit every region in this country and there is under development in every region.
