You can’t have a refusal just last year and not declare it. Not a good call at all. I don’t know if they can see database with South Africa, but if they do, it’s a really huge deception issue for them I believe, not even 5 or 10 years ago.
Thanks for your kind response. Please What do you think I can do to solve this issue? I've already paid IHS and application fees.

Requirements to apply?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by babs4all: 9:43pm On Jul 20, 2024
Sincerely, I just felt that UK is extorting visa applicants. 185 CAD gave me 10yrs Canadian visa. 75k naira gave me US 5yrs visa while 65k naira gave me 4yrs Schengen visa. Why paying 2m naira for UK's 10 years visa? I didn't see the need for such a decision at this time. UK doesn't really appeal to me. I have only been to UK once and spent just 4 days in 2019. Since then, I no get their time.
Commonwealth of Nations needs to make a case for member countries whose citizens require a visa to visit UK. The fees are exorbitant.

giselle237:
Was it the cost that made you shy away from the 10 year one you asked us about or your mind was cutting?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by killaskillz: 10:02pm On Jul 20, 2024
Yeah, they've started sending out passports for people who did July 1st though so hopefully by Monday we should get ours

I have a US and Canadian visa

Now I wanna go to UK urgently for my sisters graduation

I need a tourist visa obviously

Do I just apply or I will have to build my account statement for 6 months ?

Will my active and valid US and Canadian visa be a plus for me ?

Also, I just remembered that I have an expired Schengen visa
Your US & Canadian visas will help but make sure your account is in order cos those UK visa officers can be funny at times.

Good luck!

I'm already applying for her tax clearance certificate now. I also plan to include a validated financial statement from a registered accountant as evidence to explain their first reason. What do you think about that?

I also planned to maintain same information as my first application.

SuperAK:
I will say you should still look for a tax clearance and add in your next application. They denied my mum because of that.

Please guys I need your assistance. I already submitted my application for student visa, I'm awaiting biometric. I have one visa refusal for South Africa last year, but I didn't declare it before I submit my application. Please guys what can I do remedy the situation? Will it affect the visa decision?
Visa and immigration information is not shared between the UK Home Office and the South African Department of Home Affairs. In fact, the SA Department of Home Affairs hardly ever shares information about applicants unless they have reason to suspect that the applicant is a terrorist or involved in serious financial crime.

The reason above is why I don't believe your prior South African visa refusal will have an impact on your UK visa application.

Hello everyone, please I still need more help on my mum's visa.

Her visa application in early June for my PhD graduation and visit was refused. Reason was:

1. ECO said the transaction into her account for the month I used for her bank statement was more than 2X of her annual income.
2. They said there was no tax history in her application.

So, I'm planning to reapply. She will get her Tax Clearance Certificate this time and add it to the application. She also wanted to get her Financial statement for the whole year from an accountant, which we will then use to explain money inflow into her account.

She runs a POS business, that's why the large volume and large frequency of money transaction. She also use her personal account for the business. But I'm hoping with the explanation and financial statement showing clearly the categorization of money into her account may then explain why she's having transaction volume that's 2X of her annual income.

I have attached the refusal letter. Please Gurus in house, help me look into the refusal and see if there's anyway better way to go by it.

Thanks in anticipation.

Thank you so much. I was really disturbed about the error I made. Now I can focus on my biometric.

Sorry about the refusal.

Your Mum needs to seperate her personal account from her business account.

If you present the same statement (regardless of any explaination you provide), you might get the same result.

Please seperate the accounts, run her personal account for 6 months. She should pay herself a monthly salary from her business account. As it is, you might need to defer your graduation ceremony if you really want your Mum to attend. Good luck!

Greetings to you @Cashmadam

Hear my story.

My aunt staying in the UK called me about two years back and said she has given my number to a travel agent to help me prepare documents for a visa application. He called me later and asked some questions about where I work and if I'm married. I did told him I'm single and self-employed running a very small business.

He told me to liaise with a company probably a Microfinance Bank, to speak to the manager about slotting me into a post with a reasonable salary on paper. The company will as well prepare a statement of account for me, which the embassy can actually verify if mail was sent to the company. All these were done.
In preparation for the Documents needed for the visa application, he got a marriage certificate, birth certificate of my imaginary child, CAC Business certificate ( I have this one), My passport was stamped for a country in the middle east ( to get my passport deflowered) A Landed property; all these to ascertain I have ties with my home country.
Unfortunately, I was denied( I will attach the refusal letter) the visiting visa on the reason that they are not really certain of my true intention and not sure I will leave after my vacation there.

Now to present Day, I applied to some institutions, in which I have secured an unconditional offer in one of the schools, I have paid my initial deposit of tuition fee while I'm waiting for POf to mature before using it for the visa application. Honestly I'm confused as to how to go about filling it when the time comes on Maritals and the answer to if I have dependants. Won't this prompt more documents to show I'm married and also have a child.

I have access to using this company(Microfinance Bank) as a study gap evidence but I'm not sure if my CAC could do some works too as I don't have all these tax receipts of a thing, though i do pay my annual return and it's active on CAC website. Which one would you advice I use?.
I will appreciate your response. Thank you

Sorry about the refusal.

Main reason: your salary is considered too low. The main issue is your salary.

@abubakar123olat you can do your biometrics in abuja, lagos or even ph or enugu
TLS is the one who handles the biometrics- finger print and digital photo taking.. they then e-transport your documents to UKVI who assess the application and take the decision

Fill the normal Schengen visa form and collate the required documents using the checklist as a guide.

It's a relatively simple form and process.

The form for student visa is different from that of a visit visa.

Unfortunately, you will need to continue with the lie you started. As long as you don't intend to take any dependant to the UK and you have the required funds and documents, you might scale through.

Hi NLers, can someone give me advise about my case

So I got a student visa to UK to study in 2023 for an engineering MSc

The program was so hard and complex and I wasn’t ready to fail so I deferred my studies to 2025 when I’ll be mentally ready

NB: I have already paid my full and complete tuition 100%

I left UK back to Nigeria in 2024, a month to the expiration of my student visa

Now one of my friends in the UK is doing his wedding in November and I want to attend. I know I can only return with a visiting visa as my student visa has expired

Please how can I make my new application? Will I be denied visa ?

Will I have to build my account for 6 months ?

Please advise, I beg you

Thank you very much for this, @Cashmadam.

I have two follow-up questions:

1. When she's paying herself, does she needs to do just a normal bank transfer of a certain amount every month. Or is there a specific way you'll advise it should be done to appear formal?
2. The initial account she used for her first application, which is also for her business, is a normal savings account, could that have been a problem? And do I need to now submit bank statements for both this initial business account and her new personal account she'll be using for the new application?

Hi guys, is it advisable to send money to my mother’s account right before her visit visa application and explain it in her cover letter and mine? Her balance is really low and I now plan on including her bank statement even though I am fully sponsoring her.
I don’t want her to be denied because of the usual “I cannot see that these funds are available to you”

Has anybody applied without the parent’s bank statement and gotten approved in recent times?

If you didn’t state you were going to be sending the travel money and/or have not usually been sending money to her then you shouldn’t just do this sudden transfer at this dying moment.
You need to include her bank statement.

Apply for a visit visa normally. You don't need to do anything special. Of cos you need to ensure your account is in good shape and you can convince the visa officer that you intend to come back to Nigeria.

1. Yes. It sould be advisable for her to apy herself a certain amount every month. Same amount. Same day every month.

2. It doesn't matter if the business account is savings or current. Yes, she can submit her business and new personal account statements. The statements should cover the same period.

I hope this helps.
