This is the most damning stat on our forwards, the most for any player on the pitch
UCHEIBE Christy
Midfielder 90mins
Shots/On-Target 5/3

They were just not sure what they wanted to when they had the ball at their feet. Even Ajibade with all the promise she showed, should have done better.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 8:16pm On Jul 25, 2024
The Figure to use to cap up our performance tonight is the ever present Marta who is above 40. She was everywhere in this 2nd half while ladies slightly above half her age were behaving like they were full of fufu or pregnant. Yeah she is the cr7 of female football, but the fact that she is outperforming and influencing the game than your best individual contribution is a slap and punch on the face. Infact, it is a Randy Orton RKO!!

See Okeke doing like She's a mistake of a choice for starting. Look at Nnadozie's bluffs. See what Okoronkwo is playing and Toni.

Ucheibe came alive in 80th min. But it was useless. And why do they ball watch when Ajibade is with the ball taking on two players? Her own decision making is wack today but nobody tries to open up space for her so she always want to dribble out.

We had good shooting chances tonight but see how they are shooting like their legs are melted. After Ajibade and Ucheibe shots, the rest are pretenders.

Onumonu when we need runners? Kanu i dunno what to say. Those calling for Oshoala think that with what we saw, she will make a big difference?

Randy's setup was initial problem but they held on well. 2nd half was abysmal. They better just return to 4123 or 343.

I can't get the image of Marta outperforming our ladies out of my head. Naaaahhhh. That's an indictment.

Just asking why is asisat not playing?
I said it here before that she is only occupying space based on her reputation. Clearly since the last WAFCON her football has been on decline.

I hope falcons get some result against Spain
At least a draw
Ihezuo should’ve buried her chance

She’s better than Onumonu right now
She can still compete
Coach shouldn’t have gone with too many strikers
Ihezuo is very good at high pressing
She probably sucks at finishing
We should’ve gotten something from this game if we buried our early chances

ThePresenceWtf:
Alozie didn't struggle.... Brazil barely even had a sniff from that area and she defended her back post well enough whenever crosses came in from the left. She also made a lot of overlapping runs whenever Ajibade drew her marker out of position, only for Ucheibe to ignore her at every opportunity.

Ucheibe was abysmal out there.... Made wrong choices every time she passed forward, Took too many touches and lost the ball under her feet too often. Held on to the ball a lot when she should get the moving.... Every time she attempted to take a shot, she failed too make contact with the ball, She was out there playing Rugby ball 😂😂 The only person in that midfield today was Deborah.
If not for Alozie that goal would’ve been ruled offside
As a defender, you always align yourself to the defenders in your direction in situations like that
When an offside trap is set you adjust
She was far away from the ball and was slow to read the game.

You must be Goating(kidding will be an understatement)

Did you see how that goal was conceded?
And the terrible decisions made?
Are the Brazilians doing anything special to be ahead? And if we lose, nobody will remember we were doing okay until silly loss of concentration at this stage ruined efforts of others. If you can't demand better and it is "typical nigerians" to you, then i dunno what will convince you sha.

Decision making and terrible passes is killing our attack. We are helping the brazilians feel special because of that. That should trigger anger in any Falcons fan.
Relax. We will win our next match. We played well. Made a couple of cheap mistakes but we learnt equally, with our substitution and tactical changes. I'm sure we can beat Spain by a goal to nil

Me i no dey understand all these criticisms i dey see Ooooo. These girls are not doing badly for me. They just need to take their chances and concentrate
Don't mind them. They played well. I still feel we could have had another friendly match after Canada but that's okay with Brazil, though I fear that we might have played the weakest team but we are equally capably of beating Spain and Japan. We clearly had a loss of concentration and Brazil were there to grab it. In terms of balance of play, we can play any team any day.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by yinkeys(m): 8:44pm On Jul 25, 2024
Im just pissed
We didn’t bury our chances particularly Ihezuo in the first half
She’s very good with high pressing but maybe a bad finisher
We should’ve come out with a draw regardless of how bad we played.
We had better chances particularly in the first half
If Alozie had properly aligned with the other defenders that goal wouldve been called offside
I just hope Ajibade won’t be upset because she created that good chance
They lose their structure sometimes instead of opening up and creating spaces for each other
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by limcar: 8:47pm On Jul 25, 2024
Ihezuo: 0
Abiodun: 1/10
Ucheibe: 3/10
Alozie: 4/10
Kanu: 2/10
Esther: 1/10

Win against Spain that keep the ball
grin
Best we can dream to get is a draw
I wish we have Okobi type of player in the team with extra lungs
Our girls get tired and struggle to get the ball to attackers
Ucheibe & Abiodun helped a lot and did very well defensively but they need to do more to help our forwards
Can’t we get wingers with pace. Maybe Monday needs to start.
I don’t agree with Waldrum playing both Echegini & Payne.
Let one play each half, behind the striker
We need runners with some stamina at the wing
Disjointed team today. We should’ve come out with a draw if Ihezuo buried that clear cut chance created by Ajibade

Against Spain Nicole Payne should start at RB alozie should move to LB
Toni Payne should sit on the bench

We weren't good enough; sad loss.
Against Spain I would bench Okeke and Ihezuo for Nicole Payne and Okoronkwo.
Push Toni Payne to the wings and bring Echegini middle.
Or alternatively start Kanu and Onumonu in place of the duo.

How 6 of them were looking heavy today is what I don't get. If they do 100m competition between Marta10 and 6of our players, Marta go finish 1st in all, judging by what i saw today.

Individual performance.
Decision making.
Long balls
And most importantly, this nonsense thing that we call our pressing. How will you leave a lone figure upfield to press?
I just pray Spain no add to these Super Pain we dey feel right now. This was an underwhelming and disastrous game which the scoreline didn't justify.

She performed well against Cameroon and South Africa in the qualifiers. But it’s evident that the likes of Marta, Bonmati, Parullello, Hermoso etc are streets ahead of whatever Cameroon and SA paraded 😂
