daveP:The players position themselves too far from each other so that means they had to run more and make longer passes which makes them tired and the weird thing is they played better when they position themselves closer to each other but the coaches didn't seem to notice.. The successors and next generation of players need to be invited to be super falcons.. this team missed players like Gift Monday, Ajakaiye and Flourish Sebastian on the wings. The person playing the left wing wasn't dropping deep to help Okeke in defending.. |

If Randy starts both Echegini and Payne Falcons should forget about this tournament in my opinion There’s no creative midfielder on the bench to come on to make chances when we need help Let each play one half Convert some other striker to winger instead Once both are on the pitch and get tired We’d be playing rubbish in the middle Running on that flank will tire Echegini or Payne easily They do not have Ajibade’s stamina |

What would you rate Super Falcons Captain, Rasheedat Ajibade’s performance against Brazil ?🫶🌸

Deltamani:The game was so annoying that the metric to show she was the better player on the field for Falcons was that shot on target. Cringe! While she needs to work on decision making as regarding her passes to the 9, she needs to yell at her teammates to run into spaces or create passing options too. She can't do it all so i think she needs to start looking out for Payne, Echegini and Ucheibe more and work on how to do better with the 9 near her. Till then. |

The goal Ihezuo missed is a better chance than the one Brazil’s Gabi Nunez scored ![]() I hope the girls can put this loss behind and prove us wrong against Spain Nothing is impossible Sad my Olympics Gold dream just like Atlanta 96 for the men is over I just hope they find a way to get 4 points |

If we want to get a result against Spain, we must move Ajibade to the middle as AMF. Esther Okoronkwo starts as CF. Nicole Payne and Alozie as wing-backs. We can play a 3-4-2-1 formation. .....,..................... Nnadozie......................... .. . ....... Okeke ...... Ohale .. ... Demehin ...Nicole.........................................,...........Alozie .. . ....................Ucheibe......Abiodun.......................... ....................Echegini.....Ajibade................. . ....... .......................... Okoronkwo............................... A 3-2-4-1 will get us a result against Spain. Our midfield lacked creativity. We couldn't create any meaningful chance for our forwards. Our wingers have also been sub-par. The above formation ensures we remain solid at back while ensuring smooth transition from defence to attack, as Rasheedat will be saddled with playmaking duties. She will also operate as a Support Striker alongside Echegini(since both can easily score when played just behind the main striker) just behind the mobile and pacy Esther Okoronkwo. |

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by codemaniacs: 10:20am On Jul 26, 2024 |
EEGA:back 3 is good.. but you are forgetting that footballers are not static and can switch or move positions during the match which means 2 at the back can become 3 at the back if one of the DMs like Ucheibe drops deep to help the CB infact against Brazil they played 4 at the back because Abiodun and Ucheibe were doing all the tackling and interceptions for the defenders.. the problem was Echegini did not move to CM or CAM while Abiodun and Ucheibe dropped to help the CBs so there was no one in midfield to transition the ball... no need to move Ajibade to the middle. let Kanu play as CF while ihezuo moves to LWF and since players can move positions during the match ihezuo should also play closer to Kanu as LCF which is what I expected Echegini to do instead of just staying as the Left Wing she should have move downwards and played as SS to Ihezuo and should have also dropped deep to help Okeke with the defense then run with the ball to Offense the same way Ajibade was helping the defense and carrying the ball to Offense.. |

Randy Still not trusting Nicole Payne yet is something I don’t get, like she’s the quickest player in the team all round and arguably one of the quickest fullback in the World. My only Problem with Nicole is her lack of experience thereby making fruitless decisions after overlapping with the ball if not she’s fantastic. Her quick feet’s can help a lot, as she’s someone you can’t beat easily pace to pace..! |

When a legend meets the future..! Marta and Deborah Abiodun ⚽️ 🇧🇷/🇳🇬♥️🦅 The Marta I know wouldn’t just meet up any kind of player on the field to talk to. She definitely saw something in Debbie’s game!

The next game against Spain 🇪🇸 I will go with a 4-2-3-1 of the following players, when defending it becomes 4-5-1 to close the Midfield and the flank down. Chiamaka Nnadozie Nicole Payne — Ohale — Demehin — Alozie Christy Ucheibe — Deborah Abiodun Rasheedat Ajibade — Toni Payne — Uchenna Kanu Asisat Oshoala ••• Okoronkwo or Ihezuo for Kanu ••• Echegini for T Payne ••• Okeke for Nicole or Alozie ••• Macleans or Ihezuo for Oshoala.

Tarceina was dominant in the Air yesterday, no balls could get past her, She won all fair & Square.

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 11:17am On Jul 26, 2024 |
It was only Esther Okoronkwo who made some few moves against Tarciena and was able to beat her once or twice on ground but she at the end took too many touches and lost out. Decision making poor.!

My honest take on the game against Brazil. Part 1 It's surprising to see some of the takes here disparaging the girls. Yes we didn't win but they put up a good show. Obviously a few things to work on but we weren't disgraced. It's easy to forget that we went into this game as the least favourite with no expectations whatsoever. With luck on our side and a less efficient Brazilian goalkeeper we could have won yesterday. I commend Randy and the girls. Randy Waldrum: I think he generally coached a good game. You could see what he wanted to do, sadly it just didn't work out well. If I would fault him at all it would be for personnel error, but even that isn't entirely his fault. I think a few absences overall cost us that game. Ashleigh Plumptre at LB and Ayinde on Martha and that game would have been different. Even though I have reservations about him starting Toni Payne and JOE at the same time, I however do not think it is entirely ill-advised . I sincerely think we didn't get a chance to see if it would work because Toni Payne was disconnected all game. She wa ls making a lot of wrong decisions and wasn't playing with JOE at all which made JOE disconnected. He should however have noted this and made changes in game. I also didn't like the fact that he moved Ajibade to the middle. She was very effective on the wings and was a nightmare to the Brazilian defence. Once she moved she was largely silent in the second half. Th change however was forced because Toni wasn't doing her job. Overall I'll score him 6/10 Chiamaka Nnadozie: I think she did well and made some good saves. She however needs to work on long balls. This has been an area of weakness for quite some time. She also needs to command her defence better. I'll score her 6/10 Michelle Alozie: Meeche also did well. Yes she gets glittery in the ball sometimes and makes wrong decisions when under perceived pressure but she largely held her own yesterday. I can only remember her being beaten once. I was a bit anxious when she was moved to LB but she did a better job the few minutes she played there than Okeke did all game. I'll score her 6.5/10 Osinachi Ohale: Ohale largely had a great game. Her only fault in my opinion is the fact that she did command her defence. She had the most experience on the team and should have seen quickly what the Brazilians where trying to do. Just putting the Brazilian defence offside and we would have neutralised their entire attack cause all they tried to do was put the ball over our defence. I'll score her 6.5/10 Tosin Demehin: Good game overall. Made some great tackles and interceptions. For someone just returning from injury I wouldn't fault her much. 5/10 Chidinma Okeke: The weakest link in our entire setup. Won't make so much commentary on her. I'll score her 4/10 Deborah Abiodun: Debbie wasn't exactly a bright light yesterday. She wasn't bad but she also wasn't good. She had a better take towards the later part of the second half. Hopefully she puts up a better show against Spain. I'll score her 5/10 |

Stats don't lie... SuperFalcons gave their all against Brazil, But I think Randy Waldrum choice of starting Echegini on the left flank failed him.. She was supposed to fight for the AM spot with Toni Payne. When Toni was messing up in Midfield, Echegini was supposed to come in and sort things out.. It was a very cagey affair. I felt Nigeria should have left the field with a draw at least. Randy should have started Kanu and maybe brought on Okoronkwo to the left flank.

My honest take on the game against Brazil. Part 2 Christie Uchiebe: Christie had a good game but was limited by skill set. Those who know Uchiebe knows she's a better player without the ball. When she has the ball however it becomes challenging to like her. This is why despite being a good DM she isn't getting a lot of attention from top clubs. This is something she has to work on. I have to acknowledge however that she's worked a bit on her shot. Yes she missed a rebound, but overall she had some good shots on target. I'll score her 5.5/10 Toni Payne: my biggest disappointment in yesterday's game. She was making all the wrong decisions. You could visibly see she was unsure what to do when she had the ball. Maybe yesterday just wasn't her day. She gets 4.5/10 JOE: was absent for the most part. I won't necessarily fault her for this but doesn't change the fact that she wasn't involved in the game. I'll score her 5/10 Chiwendu Ihezuo: I sincerely think she had just one job yesterday, which was to put the Brazilian defence under immense pressure and sadly she didn't live up to it. Even if she didn't score goals, putting pressure on that defence would have opened up space for other people to exploit. Esther who isn't even as big as is was was more effective than she was. She also missed a best goalscoring chance. I'll score her 4.5/10 RASH: Ajibade was by far our best player on the pitch. Her colleagues unfortunately were not playing at the same tempo that she was. No point making too much commentary, it was as clear as day to everyone. I'll rate her 7.5/10 |

Deltamani:Thanks for putting up the stats. I know losing can be infuriating but I was surprised at some of the commentary here yesterday. The girls had a good game we just weren't lucky. I also agree that the decision to start both Toni and with the JOE failed him, but I don't necessarily think it was a bad decision. I personally wouldn't have started both of them together, but like I said earlier I think we didn't get to see how bad or good the decision was because Toni Payne was having a bad game. She didn't play with JOE at all game save for one time when she passed her the ball in transition. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 12:03pm On Jul 26, 2024 |
neztar:This was one of our biggest faults as a team yesterday. We didn't have any sense of urgency at all. We didn't take advantage when a Brazil had too many players in the offensive end. We always allowed them set up before we begin plays. It became more obvious when Nicole came in as she wanted to activate plays almost immediately but we were just too docile. Everyone was to blame here. There were times when I felt Chiamaka could begin a counter attack but she just slows it down and this gives Brazil enough time to setup their defense. Very disappointing overall. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 12:05pm On Jul 26, 2024 |
Deltamani:I don't think this is a fair assessment. Would you have been kind to Randy if he had benched Okeke yesterday and we lost? Starting Nicole from the bench was the wise decision. Okeke had a good showing the previous games and it was only fair for her to start. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 12:23pm On Jul 26, 2024 |
lovewins:On a norm Okeke would be my first pick, But Have been following Nicole game right from College, at some point her move to PSG and lack of game time did affected her development. The potentials are there but she seems to lack confidence in her abilities, Her pace alone sets her ahead of her mate but need to add that football knowledge to become a better Defender Overall.. I wouldn’t also blame Okeke that much cause she was exposed a lot by Echegini who didn’t do much especially when they weren’t connecting with her, the Left Flank was dead flat, I wondered how it took the Coaching crew that long to do something about it. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 12:36pm On Jul 26, 2024 |
Deltamani:I don't disagree with your commentary on Nicole, but the point is it would have been ill-advised for Randy to start her yesterday. Don't forget she's had a few chances to start with the Falcons and she didn't exactly do very well. I think starting from the bench was the right decision. I however fancy her starting against Spain. |
