National Minimum wage bill becomes law

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today signed the new National Minimum Wage Amendment bill 2024 into law. The law which prescribes a minimum of N70,000 as monthly salary, is reviewable every three years.

President Tinubu signed the bill midway into the Federal Executive Council meeting. Head of Service said the new law will undoubtedly reassure the workers that the President cares about their welfare.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio led National Assembly leaders to the signing ceremony.
President Tinubu thanked the National Assembly for accelerating the passage of the law.

You may not be far from the truth. The 2024 budget didn't capture the new minimum wage, hence my take that it be taken to or captured in the 2025 budget. As it stands now, Gov. Sim has not said anything about the minimum wage and when he will pay. But anything can happen before the end of the year.

The time minimum wage was increased to 30k it was in that same year that Rivers state began to pay 30k minimum wage, during the Nyesom Wike regime who was inhumane.

Why would Fubara with a human face, and political tuzzle with Wike decide to pay new minimum wage by January 2025? Even inside this hardship!

Lets watch them!

That's it... supplementary budget ll take care of it, unless he don't want to pay which i doubt. In the midst of protest fubara ll pay before December. Take my words. My prediction instinct never fail me. If he do not pay,then, there's no difference between him and his predecessor.
Remember that we were paid promotion money without receiving promotion letter which going by civil service guidelines,promotion money wouldn't be paid before receiving promotion letter but he boycott such protocol to make civil servants happy, the same thing is about to happen again

If Rivers State government failed to pay at the end of August, payment of the new minimum wage will not exceed the month of September. The governor made the promise that as soon as the template is out, he will pay, and now it's out.

Inasmuch as we have to be positive, don't fail to acknowledge the vagaries of human being. Human being is dynamic and the governor is a human being who can change at any point in time. Hence, don't bank on what he said.

In as much as what you said may be true, let's give governor Fubara the benefit of the doubt. He is generous and does not have an unkind bone in him. More so he was once a civil servant and our stable companion.

It's beyond that stage.10k ll be palliative only , which we re not sure of coming to our reach but,promotion and it's implementation is mature ,ripe and about to drop.it may or may not be paid at the end of this month becos of the delay in constituting the board but it ll be paid sooner
Palliative and implementation of promotion knocking at the same time has thrown the Government into permutation,;which to allow and which to leave behind.if palliative is given to workers ,they ll ask for the implementation of promotion but if they're given promotion they may be reluctant to ask for palliative. palliative is at the discretion of the government. they determine who n how much to give out as palliative

I said this before.payment of Palliative or wage award is at the discretion of the Governor but minimum wage already enshrined and signed into law has giving civil servants the right to demand for it, protest or file law suit if denied.
If he has not given wage award doesn't mean he ll delay minimum wage payment to undesirable long time

UBE normally do general transfer in every five years, I wonder why you were not being affected by previous transfer if not being influenced. "That thing you did that kept you so long in TAI, do it again to effect your transfer".

It's only in SSSB that regular transfer does not take place, but that of the UBE, there is regular transfer in every 5years spent in one location if not influenced. Go and ask, may be you are not in the UBE. As am talking, the transfer list of the UBE is ready. I would have love to helped, if I was earlier informed.
