The only thing I have learned from this govts is that you can go to school and still be foolish and tribalistic
Re: Pictures From 2012 Occupy Nigeria by Sheuns(m): 9:08am On May 24, 2024
It’s 2024 and fuel is 600+ Naira and over depending on location.

The same men that were against the subsidy removal back then are now telling Nigerians to bear with the current administration and that’s the only way to progress.

When these people are called out by the young people, the young people are tagged bitter and disrespectful and other vile names. These older guys clearly displayed hypocrisy and you expect the young people to respect and see you as a person of honor?

C’mon, you should be a man of your words come rain come shine.

This was when protest had leaders unlike the gongshow we have now.

Hypocrisy aptly defined in a single photo.

That's the reason why this country would never make any reasonable headway.

They are never sincere to themselves and the masses.
Always after their selfish and personal interests.

The truth hurts them deeply... Leave these hypocrites in power.

Criticisms are easy! Talk is cheap.

E reach their turn, they turned the nation into South Sudan with beggars littered everywhere.

In less than a decade, these same people totally obliterated the Middle class from existence.

A nation without a middle class can never have small and medium scale businesses thriving... And this is the perfect recipe for economic catastrophe.

Focus on the message and not the messenger.
The so called leaders got their way to power and have you seen them talking again. It was just about their primordial interest and not that of Nigerians. This time it is the youths themselves

Re: Pictures From 2012 Occupy Nigeria by Abagworo(m): 4:42pm On Aug 02, 2024
No Government in Nigeria has been good since 1999 but the present one is undoubtedly the worst. This protest against Jonathan was justified but the motives of Tinubu and APC then wasn't in the interest of Nigeria but rather to smear his name and grab power. Now they have the power and performed worse

1.The 2012 protesters were wrong, and all shades of wrong

2. IN 2011, NIgeria spent three times more on subsides than in 2010.

3. Anyone could see that the money for subsides was running out.

4. Yet the protests forced GEJ to do a partial removal instead of a full removal of subsides,

5. And see where we are now. We got several more years of subsides, and have lost billions of naira, and domestic refining is yet to fully take off...

Why didn't they tell people to bear with the government then, and give them time?!!

Imagine if the Subsidy removal had been allowed to stay in 2012... Would we be here today?!!

Do you think that protest would have remained peaceful if Jonathan had chosen to ignore them and carry on with his policies back then?!!

Let's not be economical with the truth.

No protest in a nation like Nigeria can stay peaceful for long... Infact, a wise leader would go all out to deliver results ahead of time to avoid protests.

American protests (Black lives matter); didn't they have leaders? Did they remain violence free throughout?!!

France protests claimed over 30 lives... Didn't they have leaders?!!

Asian students protests had massive coordinators but how did they end?!!

The anti-segragtion protests in South Africa and America of blessed memory, didn't they have great leaders and organizers?!! Did they end peacefully?

Coming back home... Did Endsars protests not have leadership?!!

The leadership of protests is highly irrelevant tbh...!

The fact that government couldn't swiftly address issues and prevent protests from happening or escalating shows severely poor leadership.

Change indeed! Malaye - one of the most corrupt politicians with no credentials and no business nor work experience other than politician stealing and looting our commonwealth money.
AND
The governor-Nasir that stole billions and under investigation in his State - Kaduna.

These two are now the face of the protest. That says a lot about the motives of these protesters, both the corrupt leader and the zombie followers.
I bet you, these two children are overseas and not join the protest but rather someone’s children are followers as rams for the slaughter.

Bunch of corrupt thieving idiats. So gej lost the election and they all suddenly developed amnesia

Since visible leaders have refused to come out and lead protests this time let invisible ones lead then.

Protests are even more necessary this time.

They wanted fuel to stay at N65, they were protesting a N20 Naira increase, they wanted Jonathans head

Now under Jagaban, Fuel is 10 times that amount and the same people who protested against Jonathan are saying Jagaban is doing well grin grin grin
Get yourself informed.

They were protesting a total removal of subsidy which at that time already made fuel sell at a price of N140 per litre, and would have made same improted fuel sell at the prevaling price now.

It is a removal and of subsidy on imported fuel, so you must continue to buy at whatever is the prevailing price.

The 2012 protest achieved a reprieve for all Nigerians, including the ones who did not protest like their fellow country men, as the government had to return most of the subsidy with the fuel price adjusted downward from N140 to N87.

You don't have to blame APC,no opposition leaders are ready to lead protest. That is a big shame to the opposition.
Those in the picture were all in opposition then.
