Hi 👋🏻 I am a western woman who is pregnant to a edo man.

He is extremely private person. He does not like to post on social media photos of us or anything. Now that I am pregnant, he will not tell anyone or announce it. He tells me I must wait until the baby is born. He tells me this is the tradition of his tribe. And even then, he is only telling some people. Like his family. In my culture we are different. We tell everyone and that is how we celebrate. It is a big deal to us. Both on and offline we tell everyone. So I am not understanding his culture very well. Can someone please explain why edo people keep their children private ? I did not even know about his daughter from a past ex wife until just this month. He never told me. He say it's not important. But in my culture, these things are very important to know. Can someone help me understand?
