Hello Nairalanders, please I need your advice on how to go about this. I have been so disturbed with the way my fiancee drools each time she sleeps, it has become so excess that I have to stylishly always change our pillow cases almost on a daily basis. This has been going on for the past 2 years of our been together because we also live together.

I am surprised that she is unaware she drools, or if she does not perceive the offensive odour that comes out from the pillows after the drools in her sleep in the morning. This has been going on for 2 good years of our relationship. I love her so much and I don't see this as an attitude that may discourage me from settling down with her. But this drooling is overwhelming, I don't know how to talk to her about how I feel about all this because she's too emotional, and she may begin feeling uncomfortable staying with me. it's really been complicated for me.

My advice is, tell her to face up when she wants to sleep.

I once watched program on the TV about people drooling while sleeping, the doctor said nothing is wrong with it. In fact, he said that implies they're sleeping deep (enjoying it). He now say, the possible remedy to it is, when the person close to her or him is not sleeping that moment, anytime the drooling starts, you can just tuch the person little to adjust. By so doing, the thing my reduce over the time.

Except if your are the type that couldn't bear it, you're free not to go ahead with the marriage "make you no come dey provoke over little things she do you". To marry no be by force.

As long as you don't see it as a deal breaker that may prevent you from marrying her just like you said then it's best if you speak to her calmly and nicely about it.
We all have one defect or the other so it's not like she purposely chose her present condition.

thank you so much for this advice, will talking to her bring a solution to it? I'm also a deep sleeper, I cant be awake to tap her to readjust always. It's more complicated bro. I really wish there's a lasting solution to this. I cant imagine ending this relationship with because of this attitude. But I need a permanent solution

There's no big deal in this, infact most people would drool when asleep as long as they face down while sleeping, it's normal.

Perhaps, hers is much because she's overweight. If yes, please help her UNFAT.

Remember, your woman is human and she doesn't have to be perfect in every area.

What you can do is have a conversation and advise it's best to always face up while sleeping.
That's the only way anyone would never drool when asleep.

This stuff isn't really an issue, just needs some commitment on your part.

You'll need to start breaking up your sleep time. Wake up more frequently to check on her or better still, let her sleep with her head on your arm or chest and once you feel the drool, tap her to change positions.

Over time, she also will unconsciously start changing positions by herself and that will greatly minimize the drooling. It's not an immediate solution but it works.

You haven't seen the one that farts excessively during sleep, when you do you go thank God for the one when you get. I don't think this is an issue.. I know it's not attractive but if this is the last box she needs to tick, then you don't have a problem. Will you leave a good woman because of saliva?

One thing wrong with us in this generation is the abundance illusion. We want always want something out of reach. Women do it too and in time, they discover they are in the wrong side of age. For a man, it is more forgiving because we don't have a biological clock, we can father children at 50s and so we search for perfection.

You can teach her though.. It isn't a dirty or bad habit. Back in secondary school in boarding house, a good number of us drool during sleep and we made fun of it.. We no longer though and I don't really know how I stopped or the rest.

Op, NEVER try to stop her from drooling by making her lie down 'facing up' to sleep.

The saliva will accumulate in her throat and could choke her to death in her sleep.

When she's asleep, her brain is in charge of her body and it regulates its functions better than when we are awake.

Some people generate more saliva from the tongue than others do and the brain has its way of discharging any excesses even when you're not awake to consciously spit it out.

Buy many bed sheets and pillow covers.. Change every morning and wash the one she use spit soak ,while sleeping. You no thank God say she no be generator in bed sef. People dey sleep on same bed with generator every night,they don’t complain.

What you and her need is an appointment with a doctor.

Consider talking to a doctor who can recommend surgeries that can remove the salivary glands that causes drooling.

Some prescription medication too can be recommended by a doctor to reduce saliva production by the salivary glands.

Thank you so much for all this I have read in the comments above. I think brushing her teeth every night before sleep, may help. But as for sleeping facing upwards she can never do it. She feels its a bad sleeping position.

3. You're already pissed off with your wannabe future wife's drooling and that's a red flag to marrying her. She would continue drooling until infinity. That's what it's.

If you really love her and don't mind the drooling baggage she has, then go and tie the knot with her.

But don't complain a lot to her about her drooling experiences. You would've have to bottle it up like a man.

Don't forget that some of your kids would copy her drooling gene too.

I don't see the good telling her will do. She doesn't do it consciously, so she probably won't be able to do anything about it. You could both look online for ideas/remedies that could help. A lot of people drool. It's no big deal.

Drooling is the body's way of controlling excess saliva.

Do not force her to sleep face up, else you risk her choking and dieing when the saliva can't find a way to escape and instead flows down her throat.

It's natural to her, the issue isn't drooling,
The issue is that she over secretes saliva.

So if anything youre to fix, it should be that .

Meet doctors but whatever solution they give won't really make a difference
