How I received the Holy Spirit. People loved by God, I want to share my experience of me receiving the Holy Spirit which is the stamp of us belonging to Jesus Christ and to God. Romans 8:9 says, " But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. NOW IF ANY MAN HAVE NOT THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST, HE IS NONE OF HIS. The Spirit of God layed it heavy in my heart ❤️ to preach this.... Oh you church goer, oh you Redeemer attendee, oh you Winners attendee, oh you chosen mopol, oh you Catholic goer. This is a life and death question. Do you have the Spirit of Christ in you? No matter the Church you attend, it is also a question for you as well. If you don't Have Him, you don't belong to Him and on the day of His wrath, you will be casted away like those who have deceived themselves in their heart that there is no God. If you can't beat your chest and say, yes I have the Holy Ghost, then you don't have Him. The Spirit of God is not a person you will have and you will not know. You will surely know because the signs will be there. The Spirit of God is not someone you will have and your life and body will remain the same. You will surely know that you have not just a visitor, but now a permanent resident. It is impossible for the Holy Ghost to be in you and you will be unaware. The great Spirit of the Great God! The Creator of all things both visible and non visible. The earliest disciples knew. Those who have Him today knows as well. Don't leave your life thinking you are on the right path that leads to life, not knowing that you are on your way to damnation. Let me share my experience of the very day the Holy Spirit came into me. At first, I didn't understand what was happening because no one was there to teach me. He came upon me like anointing. I was alone in the room, humming my believe in Jesus Christ sacrifice for me as I always do. I felt something dropping on my head. It was as if someone was emptying a gallon of olive oil on my head. I look up to the roof of my room to check if it was from there, but I was disappointed. My room was not licking and rain was not falling that day either. I was shocked and amazed at the same time. I didn't know what was happening but I liked the feeling that came with it. The more I hum and declare what Jesus has achieved for me at the cross the dropping intensified. Glory to Jesus Christ who has redeemed me from the Law now and ever. Amen. Till today I still experience the anointing of the Holy Ghost and Flashes of light. I may stay in my room now and feel the amazing and soothing wind of the Holy Spirit blowing on my skin especially whenever I engage in praise and worship thanking Jesus for my salvation in Him. Note: all the doors and windows are usually closed, so is not our natural earthly breeze.... This is an eternal reality for those who have Him. We are forever yoked together... Glory to God who made it possible. With the Arrival of the Holy Spirit comes clarity with the true gospel. I began to understand that all I have been thought in church why growing up are wrong. I now understand with firm conviction that through Jesus I am made right with my Heavenly Father now and forever. Friends in God's redemption, examine now your believe and be sure you are believing the write thing and as you do I see the Holy Ghost rushing into your life. The Spirit of God is eager and anxious to be in you, with you and upon you. He can't simply wait for you to believe the right message. Have you ever seen a man waiting for his lover to come home so that they can be together? How anxious and eager they always are. that is how and even more anxious the Holy Spirit who raised Jesus Christ from the dead is to come to you. |

bloodofthelamb:I was once a Catholic goer. I could not receive the Spirit then because I was still believing God can forgive my sins through my confession or through my penance while sprinkling a bit of Jesus here and there. |

bloodofthelamb:The feeling is mutual. A circling cool breeze blowing around you in such a gentle manner while you feel a wave rising in your heart and then running through your body from head to toe with a mixed sensation of mild coldness and fire. Yeah, that's the Holy Spirit moving upon you. I appreciate God for your experience my brother. Many so called Christians are mere church goers who do not have the Holy Ghost in them. A little point of correction please. Once you give your life to Christ, the Holy Spirit immediately comes to dwell in you. You are Christ's from then on even though you're not yet baptized in the Holy Ghost. When you get baptized in the Holy Ghost, you're now dwelling in the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit also dwelling in you. This goes beyond merely having the Holy Spirit dwelling in you at salvation. This fulfils the Words of the Lord Jesus when He said: “At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and YE IN ME AND I IN YOU.” John 14:20. |

FxMasterz:I don't understand what you mean by giving your life to Christ. I held this believe before but not anymore, I have discarded it. It is Jesus Christ that died for us and not the other way round. Regarding the precious Holy Spirit of Christ, He doesn't come in instalment. This is the teaching that so many have been deceived by. Nothing like you give your life to Christ the Holy Spirit will sneak in quietly and you start to wait for baptism of the Holy Ghost again. When the heart truly believes you will experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit without praying for it like they do today in so many gathering centers called church. The Holy Spirit is too great to sneak in unnoticed. My friend in redemption of Jesus Christ, though I am still learning through the guidance of the Holy Spirit in me, but on this matter, this is the truth. |

bloodofthelamb:I don't know maybe you're one who only believes what you think or what the Bible says: My very close friend received the Holy Ghost when we were prayed for. I didn't receive that day. I received the Holy Ghost in my room many months later in 1999. Anyone who confesses Jesus as Lord is a Believer and has the Spirit of God in him. The next stage afterwards is the Baptism. Read the Bible my friend, especially the Acts of Apostles. I'm not a conventional Christian. If you believe in the Bible and not just on your own thoughts, I would show you numerous scriptures regarding this. But since I do not know your stand, I'll just show you something in Acts 19. Paul met some Believers in Acts 19:2 and asked them "Have you received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?" Read below: Acts 19:1-7 ""And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. And all the men were about twelve." Read Acts 8 where Philip evangelized in Samaria and got many who gave their lives to Christ. The apostles heard in Jerusalem that people in Samaria had given their lives to Christ, they then came to Samaria and laid their hands on them that they might receive the Holy Ghost. Please read the Bible. We Christians have the Bible as our final authority on any subject matter. We don't live by some head knowledge. |

FxMasterz:God Said "let us reason together". And reasoning involves head and its knowings. What you say is a half truth and because i can see your intention is in saying the Truth, is why your statement looks right. However, there is a part where you are wrong. And if you indeed had the Holy Spirit then you would not be lying and behaving like a mad person as you did in the polygamy threads No, that was not a holy Spirit but a very unclean spirit. |

bloodofthelamb:This is not having The Holy.Spirit, this is experiencing the touch of God that comes through praises and worship. When you have The Holy Spirit, you would know the difference and you be able to tell us, (Trap) |

StillDtruth:If you have the Holy Spirit, you won't be creating threads to curse people and calling them mad people because they do not believe in God. God is love, and the fact that you're full of bitterness, hatred and cursing is proof that you don't know God. God calls sinners to repentance. He doesn't wish them dead. You even wish gruesome accidents on people. Shame on you. You don't know God! I know you would never listen, instead you'll only curse and abuse. The Bible is not an authority to you. Head knowledge is more important to you. If God says let's reason together, is it not because He wants you to bring your head knowledge into alignment with Him through His Word? Or after you reason together, it's God's Word that would submit to your head knowledge? Why should you even reason with God's Word if your head knowledge is just enough? Everyone can have his head knowledge and believe whatever he or she chooses to believe according to you. I know from experience that it's a futile effort explaining the scriptures to you. So, I wouldn't bother replying you anymore. Go read the Bible yourself. The fruits that have emanated through me in power over sin and in dominion over the power of darkness since my Holy Ghost baptism experience is enough. God has used me to help countless individuals out of Satanic bondages since then. By the grace of God, many have been filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of Speaking in tongues by the laying on of my hands. You don't know God. All your curses and your abuses on Nairaland already give you out. Yeah, Jesus called people Foxes, hypocrites, generation of vipers, etc. But he never abused, cursed or wished death on people! One day, you'll encounter Jesus and you'll come to discover that religion has nothing to do with Jesus Christ. You need to have a working relationship with Him. To you everybody is mad including Christians, Muslims, atheists, agnostics and just anybody as long as they do not have the same opinion as yours. SMH. |

FxMasterz:This scripture proves my point gloriously. Paul met some disciples who have been converted on false teaching mixed with a little bit of Jesus Christ here and there. ✝ Acts 19:3 "And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism." KJV Bible This was the root and reason why they haven't received the awesome Holy Spirit of Jesus and God. False teaching in the garment of the true gospel package using the beautiful name of Jesus. Paul had to simply redirect them to the truth and they received the Holy Spirit and they knew they had received something. The Holy Ghost did not sneak into them like someone hiding from the police. Acts 19 4. (5-7) And they were. As soon as they heard of it, they were baptized in the name of the Master Jesus. Paul put his hands on their heads and the Holy Spirit entered them. From that moment on, they were praising God in tongues and talking about God's actions. Altogether there were about twelve people there that day. (Message Trans) Regarding the Samaritan's unique situation, we might not truly know why God in his infinite wisdom decided to withhold his Spirit from them, until the coming of the apostles from Jerusalem. But one thing is crystal clear. They received the Holy Spirit when Peter and John came and they knew they received Someone. The Samaritans hasn't received the Holy Spirit prior the coming of Peter and John so this negate your argument that one can receive the Holy Spirit coded and at another time receive His baptism again. Receiving the Holy Spirit is a one time thing. If you have received Him, you have received Him and you will definitely know, that is my point. |

bloodofthelamb:Those whom Paul met were actually Believers. They were called 'Disciples'. Those who Philip preached to became saved after Philip preached to them. Acts 8:12 "But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, " They were saved. They gave their lives to Christ. After this, see what happened next: Acts 8:14-17 "When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit." In Acts 19, those people for whom Paul prayed were also believers. That's why Paul asked "Have you received the Holy Ghost since ye Believed?. Paul knew that it is one thing to be a Believer, it is another thing to be baptized in the Holy Ghost, hence, the question. Read also Acts 10 to see a similar scenario in the house of Cornelius. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is different from the salvation experience. In both cases the Holy Spirit comes into you: 1. At salvation, He comes as the Spirit of Life to impart you with the Life of God to live a new life in Christ. 2. At the Holy Ghost baptism, He comes as the Spirit of Power to fill you with the Power of God to live a victorious life as a Christian in this perverse world. |

bloodofthelamb:There is a difference between the Baptism of the Holy Ghost (which takes place at the point of salvation) AND Being Filled with the Holy Ghost (which may occur simultaneously or much later time after a person is Baptised by the Holy Ghost. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit inducts you into the Body of Christ while the filling of the Holy Spirit empowers a believer to function. Anyone who does not have the Holy Spirit as a result of His baptism by Him is neither a child of God nor saved. Luk 3:16: "John answered, saying to them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I comes, the lace of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:" The Baptism of the Holy Spirit takes place just once in ones lifetime while the Filling is supposed to be as often as possible. We are commanded to be filled with the Holy Spirit Shalom |

FxMasterz:Being a disciple does not make one a believer. ✝ Matthew 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." ✝ John 6:64 "But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him." Followers doesn't always mean you have believers. Moreover believing in the wrong message is as bad, as not believing at all. Those who Philip preached to became saved after Philip preached to them.
They were not saved. Through salvation comes with the Spirit of God. ✝ John 3:5 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." KJV Bible ✝ Zechariah 4:6 "Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts." KJV ✝ Ephesians 1:13 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise," KJV Bible Without the seal which is the adorable Spirit of Christ, the believer is not saved. On the last day, many will say, "Lord we believed in you, why are we being rejected but the Lord will say to them depart from me, for if you believe in me my Spirit would have been in you." The problem is not believing but what you are believing. Acts 8:12 "But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, "
Baptism has nothing to do with salvation but a symbol of the real deal, that is, the baptism of the Holy Spirit or receiving of the Holy Ghost. They were saved. They gave their lives to Christ.
We didn't give our life to him. He gave his life to us instead. We're just called to believe he did it. Simple After this, see what happened next: Acts 8:14-17 "When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Baptizing any anyone is just a symbol. Believing is the real deal, but it most be confirmed and sealed by the receiving of the Holy Spirit. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit."
This is the confirmation that they believed the right message. In Acts 19, those people for whom Paul prayed were also believers. That's why Paul asked "Have you received the Holy Ghost since ye Believed?. Paul knew that it is one thing to be a Believer, it is another thing to be baptized in the Holy Ghost, hence, the question.
. Not everyone who confesses Jesus Christ believes the message of the gospel. Not everyone one who preaches Christ and defend in arguments about Jesus here in Nairaland, actually believes the message of salvation. Read also Acts 10 to see a similar scenario in the house of Cornelius. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is different from the salvation experience. In both cases the Holy Spirit comes into you:
It is not different brother. It is the same and it happens once and you will no that something has happened. 1. At salvation, He comes as the Spirit of Life to impart you with the Life of God to live a new life in Christ.
True, but it is once and He also come with all package including power. 2. At the Holy Ghost baptism, He comes as the Spirit of Power to fill you with the Power of God to live a victorious life as a Christian in this perverse world.
True as well, but it is once and He comes with all package... Life, wisdom, knowledge, understand, might, power and of the fear of the Lord. There is no double coming of the Holy Spirit into man. |

| Re: How I Received The Holy Ghost. My Experience Can Be Your Experience. by FxMasterz: 6:09pm On Aug 16, 2024 |
bloodofthelamb:I'm sorry, this is heresy. Absolutely anti-scripture. Those who call Him Lord, Lord are not necessarily disciples. A disciple is someone who follows and obey. This is the Biblical standard. Wherever you see Believer or Disciple in the Bible, it's not talking about those shouting Lord, Lord please. Those who Philip preached to became saved after Philip preached to them.Seems you're contradicting yourself. I don't get your point in saying "They became saved when Philip preached to them" and again, "They were not saved." "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."The seal actually comes immediately someone confesses Jesus as Lord. The moment the thief on Christ's right hand on the cross said "Lord, remember me..." He had that seal of salvation. The baptism is for power. Not for salvation. Holy Spirit baptism cones only after salvation. Romans 10:9 is the simple truth about salvation. "[b[If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." At the point of confessing and believing, the Spirit of God revives your dead Spirit. You become born again. You now have the life of God. Jesus was speaking to believers here: Acts 1:8 "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you" In the above scripture, Jesus was speaking to Believers who had the Spirit of God in them but had not experienced the Baptism of Power. The power came in Acts 2. You might want to go and study that chapter. Those who received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2 were only Disciples - Believers in Christ. Acts 8:12Water Baptism means to die with Christ and to resurrect with Christ. The person baptized is identifying with the death and resurrection of Jesus. It's mean for only those who are born again. They were saved. They gave their lives to Christ. He actually didn't give His life to us. Rather He gave His Life FOR us. "The Righteous for the unrighteous, that we might be saved." We give out lives to Him as a mark of dedication and acknowledgement of His Lordship over us. After this, see what happened next:As I said earlier: 1. Believers receive the Holy Ghost as a seal of salvation the moment they confess the Lordship of Christ and believe He was raised for their salvation. 2. After this follows the EMPLOYMENT which is the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of Speaking in tongues. In Acts 19, those people for whom Paul prayed were also believers. That's why Paul asked "Have you received the Holy Ghost since ye Believed?. Paul knew that it is one thing to be a Believer, it is another thing to be baptized in the Holy Ghost, hence, the question.. Not everyone who confesses Jesus Christ believes the message of the gospel. Not everyone one who preaches Christ and defend in arguments about Jesus here in Nairaland, actually believes the message of salvation.Don't tell me Paul didn't know who the believers are. Don't tell me Paul laid hands on the non believers. The Bible says he laid hands on Believers. Read also Acts 10 to see a similar scenario in the house of Cornelius. Please if you've not received the EMPOWERMENT, go for it. Read Acts Chapter 1 - 2, let the Holy Spirit teach you Himself. |

bloodofthelamb:Amen. To quote a line you do it this way: You put the word 'quote' in parenthesis at the beginning and at the end of the word, sentence or paragraph you want to quote. For example: This is how to quote a word, sentence or paragraph on Nairaland. Start with the word 'quote' in parenthesis as seen at the begining of this paragraph, then end it with a forward slash and parenthesis as seen at the end of this paragraphsAbove is the result of my example after I did as you can see in the attached screenshot.

| Re: How I Received The Holy Ghost. My Experience Can Be Your Experience. by TenQ: 5:56am On Aug 17, 2024 |
bloodofthelamb:Yes, I have the Holy Spirit IN me as my SEAL (my mark and stamp) 1. The Holy Spirit is my SEAL till the day I leave this world Eph 4:30: "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed to the day of redemption." Ephesians 1:13-14: "In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory." 2. The Holy Spirit is resident IN me! John 14:17: "Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you." 1 Corinthians 3:16: "Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?" Romans 8:9: "You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him." These is what gives me the right of sonship of God! |

bloodofthelamb:Think about it this way, when the Lord Jesus was with His disciples, were they saved? Didn't they have the Holy Spirit? Didn't they perform miracles? Were they not children of God? Why then did the Lord Jesus say to them, John 20:22, "When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: RECEIVE YE THE HOLY GHOST ." Are you now getting it? Why then did the Lord Jesus say again to them after this John 22 event "Tarry ye in Jerusalem until ye be endued with power from on high... And ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you" See, the Holy Ghost must come UPON you. After already coming WITHIN you. At salvation, the Holy Ghost comes WITHIN you. When you're baptized in the Holy Ghost, He comes UPON you. The Acts 2 experience is a must for every believer who wants to walk in the Power of God. Go and read Acts 2 please and take note of 2 important verses: Verse 15: "... In the LAST DAYS, I will pour out MY SPIRIT UPON all flesh....." Verse 38: "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive THE GIFT of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” Two important Gifts you must receive: 1. The gift of Salvation and 2. The Gift of the Holy Ghost. Let me add another Scripture here. Saul encountered the Lord Jesus on his way to Damascus. He repented and began to seek the face of God in prayer. Then the Lord Jesus spoke to Ananias about Paul, asking him to go and pray for him. Acts 9:17-18 "And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, BROTHER SAUL, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, AND BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, AND AROSE, AND WAS BAPTIZED." Regarding your use of the 'quote', I observed that you quoted a whole page instead of segmenting according to the sections you intend to respond to. See my example below: So this is my first exampleNow, I'll go to the next segment and quote another section. This is my second example. I've quoted another segment of the page. Now I can respond again to what I quoted above. See the screenshot below to see what gave me the above results. You can quote as many segments of a post as you want. God gives us His Life at salvation, and then gives us HIS POWER when we get baptized in the Holy Ghost.

bloodofthelamb:A disciple is simply a follower of a person or doctrine. One can be a disciple of Moses, or disciple of John the baptist or disciple of Jesus Christ or disciple of Muhammed, etc Disciples of Jesus Christ are the ones who receive the baptism of the Holy spirit as a seal of their belief and redemption.
