lovewins:Go back and check their Squad out and tell me the number of Professionals you see on the list… Just because you don’t know them you’re defending Spain as if their Squad is made up of even a Single Academy player.. Spain even have more professionals in their squad right now than any other Country that have named their Squad for the U20 World Cup… You don’t know the Players that’s why you just came out to talk… Go check them out first.. Their Squad is currently the heaviest have seen considering the caliber of players they have right now…! They have players from Barcelona B, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Real Sociedad, Levante UD, Madrid CFF, Granada, Athletic Bilbao Club, Gijon W.. And those Players the picked from Barcelona B are the ones that even get game time with the main Barca Team

Here’s 20yrs old goalkeeper Andrea TARAZONA who plays for Levante UD… who signed a new contract recently.. Mr Lovewins pls don’t provoke me next time, no one is going to the U20 World Cup just to breed talents..! Spain squad will certainly be among the top3 oldest squad going to this U20 World Cup… So Colombia that picked Linda Caceido don’t know what they’re doing ahbi?…

Deltamani:Wow, nice effort. This team already has many abroad based players unlike the 2022 set. Beautiful to see 👍🏾 Rofiat Imuran should naturally be the captain of this team based on who broke into the falcons first. |

Deltamani:3 midfielders ke? Abi i dey see double? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 5:08pm On Aug 19, 2024 |
daveP:Maybe the other two players are midfielders, but this list is according to the players that traveled to Colombia 🇨🇴, the ones I know very well and could recognize from the photo… Adaobi Okah is also a an attacking minded Midfielder/Forward. So she can play there..! |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 5:11pm On Aug 19, 2024 |
ekehopp2:The Left Back Oluchi Ohaegbulem of Nasarawa Amazons have been the Captain of this set till date with Jumoke Alani the Assistant Captain since qualifiers. Maybe with the return of Imuran and co, there might be few changes which I expect.. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 5:13pm On Aug 19, 2024 |
ekehopp2:Imagine the Captain Oluchi Ohaegbulem is a Left Back, Imuran is a Left Back/Winger, One must seat out if both are going as a Left Backs.. With Flourish Sabastine there am sure Imuran is going to play Left Back.. Imuran experience and Speed might kick Oluchi to the bench as she’s slower among their two. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 5:22pm On Aug 19, 2024 |
daveP:With the players picked in Defense and Attack am very okay… cause is going to be tough for Danjuma to decide who starts considering their Capabilities… … Two will have to start btw Shukurat, Oyinlola and Comfort at CB … Imuran, Oluchi, Jumoke as FB’s Upfront… Opeyemi Ajakaye, Janet Akekoromowei and Flourish Sabastine might be the starting trio upfront.. ( Speed, Finishing and Skills/Playmaking) Goodness Osigwe, Adaobi Okah, Aminat Bello and Chiamaka Okwuchukwu are also good to start.. Yina Adoo will have to carry the main cross in midfield cause she’s arguably the one I know too well that’s very good with the ball, She plays more as a Deep-Lying Midfielder. I would have loved Chinyere Kalu behind her cleaning up the mess and doing the dirty job but Danjuma dropped her..! |

lovewins:Here’s Germany Squad…. With Professionals You’re arguing as if Nigeria took 💯 Foreign pros to the World Cup. Apart from Rofiat Imuran, Flourish Sabastine and Opeyemi Ajakaye who else? Or you want to include Aminat Bello and Oyinlola Olamide who are Collegiate/Academy Players.

South Africa is in pole position to host the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in July next year and South African Football Association (SAFA) President Danny Jordaan has confirmed that they have already engaged the government about their plans. ✍🏽 SABC Sport’s Velile Mnyandu #SABCSportFootball |

Deltamani:There should be balance regardless. The defenders wouldn't be creators or dominate proceeding. There ought to be at least 2 extra midfielders. If injury occurs, who replaced them? I don't like the number. Every other section may be okay but we shouldn't be doing the midfield like that no matter how talented the team is. |

South Africa tipped as the next hosts of the WAFCON in 2025 By Velile Mnyandu South Africa is in pole position to host the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in July next year and South African Football Association (SAFA) President Danny Jordaan has confirmed that they have already engaged the government about their plans. Morocco were set to host the WAFCON tournament this year, but it was postponed to next year as it clashed with the Olympics. The North African country is also set to host the men’s AFCON in December 2025, and they have since stepped aside from hosting the WAFCON. Jordaan says they have made their intentions clear to CAF about hosting WAFCON. ''Well, we have submitted to CAF our intention for the next WAFCON, of course that WAFCON was awarded to Morocco. CAF must now respond to us, if they say yes - it will give us the opportunity to defend our title at home, and it is a huge opportunity for Banyana,'' said Jordaan. Banyana, the reigning African champions, had already qualified for the WAFCON after beating Burkina Faso 3-1 on aggregate. Jordaan says they are now focused on playing strong international opposition in preparation for the WAFCON. Desiree Ellis’ team is already scheduled to meet European champions England in Coventry in October. ''We also have to try and renew the Banyana team, and have them play friendly matches against big federations in world football, and I guess now it is up to CAF to give us a response,'' added Jordaan. South Africa last hosted the WAFCON in 2010; Banyana Banyana finished third in that tournament as Nigeria beat Equatorial Guinea in the final. The next WAFCON is scheduled for 6-25 July next year, and the AFCON is penciled in for 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026. Jordaan reveals that they are not the only country interested in hosting this WAFCON tournament. CAF has yet to make a decision on the next hosts, but SABC Sport has learnt that SA is the preferred host as they already have the stadia, and the infrastructure required to stage the tournament. With SAFA also interested in bidding for the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup after dropping out of the race for the 2027 tournament, which was awarded to Brazil, Jordaan confirmed that they intend to push ahead with that bid, as they have also received support from the Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture Gayton McKenzie.

Deltamani:How old exactly is Taiwo Afolabi? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 11:19am On Aug 20, 2024 |
Deltamani:You don tag me plenty times since yesterday but totally missed the point I was making. Again you're strawmaning the argument. 1. I was never against players with top rated clubs being a part of the team. If not I would have kicked against the inclusion of Flourish Sebastian, Opeyemi Ajakaye and Oyinlola Olamide. My post was specific to Imuran. 2. My point is age grade competitions have historically been the only platform we have to either breed players, give known players without opportunities a fighting chance or introduce our local talents to the world. Imuran already plays for a top team in France as a starter and was until recently a regular on thr super falcons roster so I think it serves us better to give that opportunity to someone else. 3. The substance of my argument has little to do with what other countries are doing so highlighting how many of their roster plays with top teams doesn't change it. England, France, Spain, USA etc already have a system for breeding great players that we don't. They literally have a pipeline for moving players to their professional league. Like you highlighted, half of their players being part of a professional team isn't news but if any of ours sign for a bottom tier division 2 team in any of these countries it is front page news. So we can't exactly run the same template cause we are not dealt the same hand. 4. Finally, no where did I remotely suggest we shouldn't want to win. I just said for us it shouldn't be top priority. 5. Also the argument that we need "professionals" to win isn't founded in facts (notice the quote). We have been runners up twice (2010 & 2014) and on both occasions we had a complete roster made up of local players save for 2014 when we had beautiful Courtney Duke who at the time was a college player |

AndSunGorilla:No mind, At the end he ran away from saying Spain doesn’t use professional players at the U20 level… even Vicky Lopez and that small no.10 I can’t remember her name now was already playing Pro with Madrid CFF before playing at the U17 World Cup..! |

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 3:03pm On Aug 20, 2024 |
Deltamani:Ok let's go to recent history The 2016 winners of the World cup was North Korea. All of their players played locally in their league and that didn't stop them from winning. The 2018 winners was Japan and again all their players were playing locally in their league and academies and that didn't stop them from winning. Guess what? Japan didn't even have a professional women's league until 2021. What they had prior to that was a semi-professional league. The 2022 winners were Spain, the vast majority of whom were B players of their various teams. You see how you do.not need "professionals" in the sense that you're projecting and will still do well? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 3:10pm On Aug 20, 2024 |
Deltamani:Baba, again you're saying what I didn't say. Breeding talent and winning championships are not mutually exclusive. The crux of my argument is priority, that is what comes first. If I was against professionals in the sense you have presented wouldn't I be against the inclusion of the other girls who play abroad. Also every of the girls on our roster her professionals in their own right howbeit local. They play in the NWFL and her professionals in every sense of the word. It is why you'll notice I always put a quote whenever I want to reference your rendering of professional. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 3:20pm On Aug 20, 2024 |
lovewins:It seems you’re underrating the quality of the Asian Women’s Football League, if you have been following them you won’t pick out North Korea and Japan who have always been good at the age grade level too.. To take note of… China, South Korea and Japan league have quality players even from Africa, Brazil, Australia, USA and other countries. They do play there and I know of some Nigerian Players who have played there and some that still play there. Except the North Korea side which I know too well that Foreign Players don’t go there in the Women’s game. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 3:35pm On Aug 20, 2024 |
lovewins:But you said Spain doesn’t use professionals… How come their squad is made up of the most..? Again If it comes to the U17 & U20 Women’s Football in the World USA, Brazil, Nigeria, Germany, Japan, North Korea have been the main stay… It’s something they have been good at no matter what. Spain just came up in recent time and it seems they have come to stay.. The likes of France, South Korea Colombia are next in line.. So we can’t take that away from the Japanese and North Korea as they have their way of doing it. Our own league have never been that standard but we keep bringing out players at the age grade level till date. |

Deltamani:I am not underrating the quality of the Asian league which again is my point if you read carefully. |
