I'm currently on MTN 1tb annual plan. By the time I exhaust it, I will do this one
Please What is your experience with this mtn 1tb 1 year plan? Speed and data consumption wise?

if you can limit your usage to less than 100gb monthly, you're good to go. Speed is dependent on your location

Buy Starlink if you want speed and budget isn't a problem
When speed is good
You fit use 1tb in less than 1 month

given our internet usage and MTN's data depletion, I don't think this plan will last past 5 months for a data user.

I think I agree with you based on experience. Went through 4TB last year. Bought MTN router that comes with 2.5TB bundle and it finished within a year

Am I the only one who suffers this during the day. The network just disconnects completely until later in the day

I think this is deliberate acts by Airtel to limit usage

Restart your router

Restart your router
done that over ten times already
Re: Please Guys: Which Unlimited Data Do You Use. by hartum(m): 2:55pm On Aug 19, 2024
I also experience same but I restart my router, although highly unprofessional because if I was in a meeting, I will be wondering what went wrong. Sometimes, the router even trips off and restarts on its own.

These network providers behave like this because the regulators have not been up to the task

Okay Thanks. I

Actually, it comes in 2 units (at least mine, I can see some people posting a newer one that is just one unit). One is the receiver and the other is the router. You are supposed to place the receiver close to a window and it is what holds the Airtel sim. Then you connect the receiver to the router via LAN/Ethernet which broadcasts the WiFi signal.

Fyi, I sometimes connect from the receiver directly to my laptop using LAN.
Hello, can you assist me on how this nokia airtel thing works? I bought mine for about 7 days now, registered my sim, got a confirmation from my dealer that I am on the free month subscription, I downloaded the nokia app and I have been trying to set up the whole system, still it tells me no signal found, I have repositioned and even gone to other buildings, I keep following the signal n it keeps saying no signal found.

I have sent you an email request, please assist

If you can get an Airtel broadband sim or have your current Airtel SIM migrated to broadband tariff, then it will work. I don't know how you are going to get either done. I have personally used the 20k for 20Mbps router sim on my phone and it works fine.
Can use the sim that comes with the router on phone??

Took me a while back then, but i figured it out. The Nokia receiver unit's bluetooth needs to be turned on, as the Nokia Wireless app connects to it via bluetooth, and by default, the receiver unit's bluetooth is off.

So, while connected to the Nokia router, go to 192.168.1.1 and log into the interface, then go to the General tab and turn on the bluetooth.

By the way, the password of the interface can be found on the sticker in the pack inside the receiver unit carton.

Thanks boss for the detailed response, you just outlined my exact experience too. I went to the friend's place and together we were able to decipher it just as you have said. The router and receiver are working okay and network reception has greatly increased, i also noticed that the router has a self-heal function and can restart itself after network fluctuations unlike the X25PRO that would require a manual reboot to get back on track.
I'm really tempted to get the nokia router and swap out my X25PRO, but waiting for my friend's review after a month.
Thanks once again.

I have both set of devices and I wouldn't get the Nokia instead of the ZLT X25, and here are my reasons.
1. I like having some level of control over the 4G and 5G bands that are enabled or disabled on a router, and X25 allows me to do that, but the Nokia doesn't. I recently found out that Airtel now supports 4G band 7 in addition to band 3 and 8. Unfortunately, band 7 is poor in my location, and aggregating band 7 with any of the other 2 bands doesn't help, so I permanently disabled band 7. However, aggregation of band 3 and 8 seems to be better. Mind you Airtel service in my location is extremely poor, utterly frustrating.

2. I equally prefer having the control to choose the network type to use. I mean, 4G Only or 5G NSA Only. The Nokia doesn't have these options, but X25 does. Given how terrible Network is in my location, a single bar of 5G performs better than 4G. I found a spot in my house where there is a single bar of 5G, so I permanently kept the X25 there and left it on 5G NSA Only. Whereas keeping the Nokia receiver in same spot doesn't help.

So, with the Nokia router, I'm helpless, but the X25 gives me the control I need to, at least, enjoy the service a little bit.

Whoa cool!!!

Are you a network engineer?

I would like to do these things you do, airtel network in my area is poor too and would to know how to identify the bands and do these "aggregation" you did.

Also I observed when I turn off my device (x25) and it's comes back on, the wifi signal says always, " connect to wifi, but no Internet" - something like that. I would have to do multiple restarts before it will finally work.

Is there any way to resolve that issue once and for all?

Has to be. I also got the Hertz6 device earlier this week and the airtel sales person was very adamant that it supports 5G.

Turns out the issue came from what was written at the back of the router. Tried explaining that it’s just frequency, and there’s supposed to be a ‘Hz’ at the back, but she doubled down that it was actually 5G. I gave up and carried my device and left
Does this come with external power pack?

I'm currently using my MTN to respond to you because the Airtel couldn't open the website. I don't know if it's only me or everyone else
