The Yorubas are simply diplomatic. They aren’t controlled or overwhelmed by emotions same as the Hausas/Fulanis, Edos and even the South Southern ppl. A Yoruba man would swiftly correct his brother if he does something wrong but a typical Igbo man believes his kinsman can do no wrong. That last week, instead of them to privately call the woman to order owing to the weight of her careless utterance, almost every Igbo person on the internet was praising and cheering her on and everybody left her on a her own when the result came for her. Igbos resorted to using the whataboutism tactic to justify the careless, mannerless and foolish talks instead of applying common sense. Being stupid is not bravery and in fact, being emotionally intelligent to know when to and when not to act is another form of bravery. Apologies for my earlier comments. I thought you were one of them. You seem highly reasonable and yes, that’s the point we are trying to make. We should condemn bad behaviors regardless of our affiliations with the person committing it. The igbos need to stop defending bad things. The belief that an Igbo man can’t do wrong needs to stop. You will hardly see any Yoruba person defend this Ebiri guy. I had to go check what led to his outburst but even though he seemed justifiable, no Yoruba person will support him. He quickly apologized because he knew he went too far.
