Meself dey wonder o. But I guess since courses like this are regulated, then it's one of the doings of the regulatory bodies. Much like how doctors and nurses need to do IELTS before they can move to UK.

The school will give you instructions on how to pay your deposit. But most schools use flywire and its also fast,takes 2-3 days and its drops in your school bank account.

A friend was denied student visa after UK visa interview. He chose another line of study for Masters instead of his current BSc. That should not be a grounds for denial if you ask me. Apparently my friend didn’t defend it well or the visa officer just didn’t find it convincing enough. What can he do in this situation?

Use a dollar card of someone you know in the case you’ll get a refund in the future so you can easily get your money back.

You can only use dollar/pounds card or someone from the UK pay for you while you send them the naira equivalent

Dear Shawarmagirl,

September 2025 is about a year from today. You can only do two things for now (that is if you don't have them already), get your academic transcript, your international passport.

You can start looking for admission (survey) now or even from Next year January.

Please note, (Maintenance funds) AKA POF will increase from early January next year. Further reading available at

You need a dollar card tied to a domicilliary account. Or you ask someone abroad to pay for you and your refund in Naira.

GTB Dollar cards works very well. You need a few days to get that sorted out. It takes about 24 - 48 hours if you are a platinum customer.

I booked my biometrics appointment on TLS website for Thursday 12 september, i've made payment but when i login to my application its showing "NOT SET YET" for Application tine and date.

Also i can't find where to upload my documents. Make una abeg help me oh

Qatar(long trip but good airline), if you can afford BA or Virgin, Turkish airline(they have a sales currently on if you check their website),klm / Airfrance(but you’ll require transit visa if you don’t have a valid U.S. or Canada visa)

Good morning, do not use phone to book the appointment, it will always indicate 'Not set yet'. Kindly , use laptop or desktop to do that aspect of booking of appointment.

Go with faith. They rarely ask for physical copies of documents. Just the tls application checklist, photocopy of your international passport, your appointment print-out from your email and receipt of payment(rarely)

I intend to start my 28days POF tomorrow, but I’m a bit confused because my conditional letter of offer states that I am eligible for scholarship up to £4000 depending on my result, but no definite amount was stated. How do I calculate the tuition for the POF? Should I subtract the amount from the tuition or I should just provide POF as if I didn’t put the £4000 in the picture?

The discount will be on your CAS. Just confirm from the school if you will get the discount.

From my experience, flights on Mondays are the cheapest. Avoid Friday to Sunday. Check all the dates and compare the cost.

You can check Emirates, Qatar, Ethopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Rwanda Air. I would recommend Qatar and Emirates - if you don't mind the long route. They are efficient and you don't need transit visa. The airports in Dubai and Doha are beautiful and will add to your flying experience. If you fly to Manchester, you might get to fly on the Airbus A380 - the world's largest commercial passenger aircraft. Beautiful plane

Avoid Air Moroc and Egypt Air.

You need transit visa for KLM, Lufthansa, Air France...

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic will be very expensive. Buy your ticket as soon as you can.

It should not be an issue as long as your school accepted the neco print out.

Whatever qualification your school has accepted is usually acceptable to the visa officers. The are mainly interested in your POF...
