Stop Lying to him! His brother wasted his talent working for a business enterprise that paid him nothing for all his work and time, and when he needed help, all he got was a snake oil scam executed against him by the same man whom he had served for all that while. This couldn't happen to anyone but to a certified mugu. undecided
He pastored for 5 whole years!
Was he in communication with the Christian God within that period, or he was just teaching the script...without substance.

Poverty and sickness, isn't an attribute of a true man of God...acording to Nigerian standard of Christianity.

So don't blame RCCG.
He is/was a pastor. He should take responsibility for his spiritual walk of faith.

This response of yours does not make sense at all. undecided

If the Adeboye who had supposedly been in communication with this deity of yours for over 40 years - according to his claims-- could not even use his magical anointing oil to heal this man, what magic could this man who claimed he had only been in communication for about 5 years with this same deity have been expected to make happen then?

Adeboye has doctors on his staff and he flies abroad for his healthcare needs. So why in the world would he have turned to offer a snake oil scam to this man in his need of similar medical attention if not to confirm his heartlessness? undecided

2. Poverty and sickness aren't attributes yet every Naira and penny Adeboye has ever spent in the last 40-something years of his life can be traced back to the pockets of his gullible sheeples and not from producing any tangible product or any meaningful investment. This man however invested his sweat and blood into Adeboye and got nothing for it all. His curse was from pitching his tent with Adeboye, the so-called man of god who only renders cursed those who, like this certified mugu, trust in him. undecided

Should Pastor Adeboye have given your brother his own kidneys or what exactly is your point? That's the best he could do, he is not God and has never claimed to be.

So, don't attempt to paint him black.

He wasn’t paid any salaries, he was working as a telecommunications engineer , pastor adeboye gave him anointing oil when he was taken to him when he has kidney issues

RCCG has over 200,000 pastors. No organisation in the world (not even the Nigerian government) can offer free burial grounds for 200,000 people. This is just the number of pastors o. Now add pastors' wives, their children, deacons/deaconness,elders, etc. If every RCCG member decides to request a space for their loved ones, the entire RCCG camp won't be enough.

5yrs isn't a problem.
If you can even hear God for one day, that's enough.
But if he preached for 5 whole years, was it in deceit or ignorance?

Was he hearing from God or deceiving the people he preached to?
Doesn't he believe in his own teachings?
His faith could no longer carry him to get miracle money or miraculous healing?

What then was his Christianity about, if they keep preaching faith and healing...and when time comes to prove it, it doesn't work...even you- the Holy preacher?!

Adeboye can go for health check as an old man...but a pastor shouldn't die of sickness- Nigerian xtianity standard.

The pastor is complicit in his own death.
If you teach what you can't practice...then you've been leading your flock in the same ignorance that you're in...and inadvertently defrauding them through deceit.
You probably know it doesn't work...but you preach and gather offering; you teach supernatural as a way out/ plan B.

Don't blame Adeboye, if you who's a pastor- doing healing and collecting offering, can't help yourself from the same process.

God dey o...but this religion thing is complex.
I don tire.

Telecommunications engineer at MTN, Glo, etc., right? You guys should have taken him to his company's MD. He has better chances there as the MD has fewer people to worry about.

Adeboye has over 200,000 pastors, over 1 million elders/deacons/deaconness, and more than 5 million members to worry about. He has more members than Ebonyi and Ekiti states combined.

Above all, you have to find peace and acceptance in the reality of life. And may his soul continues to rest in peace. Like birth, funeral is very expensive. It's only cheaper when you patronise recycled burial grounds in Lagos.

Adeboye claimed to have been in communication with this deity of yours for over 40 years but he could not do the magic of healing this man, so why would you have this expectation of a man who has barely 5 years with this same deity? How come Adeboye's faith was not bigger than this man's faith and all Adeboye could offer him was oil that amounted to nothing? undecided

2. What is Adeboye's Christianity about if Adeboye, even after 40 years could not heal this man with his magical anointed oil? undecided

3. So, even though Adeboye has been going for health checks all of the 40 years he has claimed to be in communication with this deity of his, this particular man should not have been privileged to the same? undecided

4. From the conversation, it is all too clear that you are aware that even Adeboye takes good advantage of the medical healthcare system abroad in particular does not teach what he practices— he gives anointed oil to others while he has doctors around him to take care of him when he is sick. So, why cast this man down but not Adeboye the grant fraudster in all of this? undecided

5. Adeboye knows his fraudulent anointing oil does not work yet he offered it to this man. So, why can't he be blamed? undecided

The man can't play the victim card, when he has been victimising others.
He's a part of the system.

Pastoral job comes with personal responsibilities in faith.
They preach that everything is attainable in xtianity, yet they don't live it...and still wouldn't leave it alone.

I don't even understand this system of putting pastors on salary.....is it a job or a calling...abi wetin una dey do like this?!
This isn't what we learnt about early Christianity o.

1. The dead man isn't playing the victim card at all. How can he? He fell for Adeboye's scam and paid with his life. So, that is his end. You can say he was victimizing others but clearly, he was himself a victim of Adeboye's scam since he thought Adeboye's scam anointing oil would heal him. undecided

2. Indeed he was part of the system but Adeboye is at the top of the system he was a part of. So, why not call him out for his part in the scam? undecided

3. Where is Adeboye's personal responsibility in this faith you speak of when everything Adeboye has collected he defrauded from his followers and every anointing he gave a scam executed? undecided

4. But Adeboye collects salary himself so why can't or shouldn't his employees equally collect salary? undecided

5. Adeboye is a prime example of what you describe there. This dead man fell for the scam and is now dead. undecided

First of all, sorry for your loss. I pity people that still believe in church. Churches are now after their pockets, they don't care about the congregation.
2nd, please remove that 'I'm blogger' from your title, you don't have what it takes to be a blogger. You're better off in Yoruba language than English. Look at your sentence, no comma, sentence doesn't make sense, wrong English and stuff. How will people read and understand your blog.

I am not defending Pastor Adeboye. Going to church in order to get some future funding or relief programmes is just self-deceit.

The best any church can offer is CSR programmes, which means that some will benefit while others won't. Some will get scholarships, most won't.

Dangote is one of the biggest independent donors in Nigeria, yet till tomorrow, his best will never be enough. He's recently just given 5bn or so to flood victims in Borno state, but guess what? Many people in that state will still lose their lives and properties and get nothing in return.

Op's brother pastored a church for 5 years and needs Adeboye to give him 20-30 million Naira for a kidney transplant? If the entire pastorate of the church make such demand, church no go close down?!

What we need is a reality check. People should stop running to churches looking for financial favours or some unfounded miracles. Adeboye does not have the key to eternal or everlasting life whether in heaven or on earth. He lost his son too some year back.

Adeboye may not have given him the money he needed for a transplant, but we also know that RCCG has hundreds of maternity clinics spread around the country, where women go to get highly subsidised maternal care. You see, that's how institutional CSR works.

His brother needed the government more than Adeboye at that critical stage. What has the government done about terminal illnesses? If Adeboye somehow provide the funding for his brother, what about the rest of Nigerians battling with kidney diseases who do not have 25 million for a new kidney?

People should rather go to churches for the right reasons. If they need to give, they also must give for the right reasons.

There is a wide difference between God and Church. The church is the business of portraying God. It is not a hospital for healing neither is it a charity organization.
Wise up, bury your dead, stop showing foolishness and stop trying to get unnecessary traffic and sympathy.

I read your submission to dogedfighter. I don't have a problem with the church offering paid services at all but I need to ask you a very personal question. What's the benefit of one being sold out for church like this pastor in question and even in death, the church cannot sacrifice a million naira to bury him in a location that could be his dying wish.
And generally what and what are the right reasons/expectations as people go to church?
