Please be rational, u can support someone without selling out ur conscience.
If election did not hold, there won't be LGA allocation, therefore no employment, no salaries to those already employed and no development. It's not the politicians that will suffer the consequence, it's the people that will suffer it.
Anyone who loves Nigeria won't wish for something like this on any state

Local government elections in Nigeria are usually walk over for the party in power. We saw it play out recently in all the states that have conducted theirs; Imo, Anambra, etc. Wike and others know this, that Fubara is consolidating his hold on power with this election hence the insistence that it must not hold or be scuttled.

It's all politics however LG Poll will hold on October 5.

1. The Court has the powers to stop an election.
2. INEC handed over this Register to RSIEC between July - October 2023.
3. The same register is been used by all other States.
4. The responsibility of updating or otherwise is INEC's so how will RSIEC pay for the sins or the failings of another body.
5. RSIEC is empowered by law to conduct LG elections.
6. The same Justice Lifu ruled that Kwara & Enugu can go on with their elections with the same register. On the part of Enugu, he ruled that the ENSIEC was not given fair hearing. Kwara's was funnier, they held that if they did not go on with that election, they will be contempt of the SC judgement. Justice Lifu further okayed their election.

In these States, INEC backed the arguments of the State Commissions, in Rivers, INEC had no representation.

Again, the FHC did not stop the election. It only made broadly two reliefs:
- Police & DSS should not provide security.
- INEC should not release the 2023 voters register.
What now happens since INEC released it prior to this date?

The position in all these is:
INEC, through the Rivers REC & 4 Directors held a meeting with the RSIEC Chair & 2 staff between July,-Oct last year before tge feud began. They were given soft copies of all of these but again this is politics and only the strong-willed survive.

Even if Fubara go ahead to conduct the election are you sure the federal government will recognize the chairmen that will declared? Are you sure the federal government will even release allocation to them?

As how Gentle GEJ was as a president, a sitting governor Murtala Nyako had to fled the country because he over stepped the boundary which Simi is embarking on the same journey.

There is no sympathy in democracy. It turns away from democracy when an elected leader doesn't have opposition. Opposition could be internal or external. Whoever is the leader should find a away to pacify dissenting individuals. It is not enough to insist on having ones ways you must have the means. This is why there are check and balance in democracy.
