Deltamani:Most Nigerian coaches can't identify talent when they see one. They all think football is brute force. Remember Oliseh overlooked Ekong and Balogun but they both gave us the oyinbo wall. Same way Manu Garba told us Dele Fisayo Bashiru was not good enough for his team and now time has vindicated him. Dude has added stealth in SE midfield and Lazio. This is a girl that score goals and give assists in her club side. Let her rep Ireland joor... |

Deltamani:The nff itself is not trying to make the fbs see playing for Nigeria early as a catch. I keep saying that Attervall part was crazy. Since Courtney Dike I don't remember any fb balling for us at cadet competitions. Now the two that came are suddenly brushed off in this manner? Simone is good enough for u20. Not to talk of u17. Before someone thinks this is some worshipping talk. Nobody gets rejected twice in such manner will be happy to rep. This is sad. Not just her but the way it was done. Made this girl even do team initiation ![]() Only to end in tears? |

Deltamani:Not in the least surprised. I would have been surprised had her name been included. Y'all know I am big on letting coaches the liberty go pick their roster, so won't criticize Olowoekere on this. My only issue is allowing this girl attend 2 different camps only to be let down like this. If the NFF knew she didn't have a chance (and she didn't) they should have let her go home after the u20 trials. If you know Nigerian coaches, you'll know she didn't have a chance based on what they prioritise. We've seen it to many times at this point to be surprised. |

Deltamani:Rash has now been rightfully credited with her hat trick. The data now shows 3 goals 0 assists. Ajibade now co-leads the league in number of goals scored. |

mostob:Lol 😂 The few games have seen her play she’s good enough to start for the Flamingos talk more of making the team. Na them know why them drop her sha cause there’s no way she will camp with the U20 and not improve on her game while coming down to the U17. It’s more than what you can see.! That guy even picked 4 Midfielders only! |

lovewins:Football isn’t about the gra gra oo, by the way Reilly isn’t even a lazy or should I say I weak player to contend with the Physical side of the African games.. If you have watched Onyi Zogg play you would know that no be by Foreign Born oo, She’s stronger than I thought at first. Imagine Zogg with that Baby face very very aggressive & Strong with her Defending. |

Osi 32yrs Aging Strong and better, I just hope the National team Coaches are working on a Possible future replacement (Understudy) when the times comes… Cause Shukurat Oladipo didn’t impress me at the last U20 World Cup as expected.. Anyway I’m putting in Maureen Umeh 22yrs, Akudo Ogbonna 24yrs and Shukurat 20yrs in 3rd for now..!

Deltamani:Didn't want to go deep into it, but it's easy to figure why she wasn't picked. For those who aren't aware: 1. The vast majority of those within the Nigerian football ecosystem do not think players of Nigerian descent born outside Nigeria should be included in age grade competitions. Even the NFF President has publicly shared same sentiment. You can go through the provisional list of both u17 and u20 the last 5 years and you'll see a quite a number of foreign born players listed who never even made it to camp. Victor Eletu who was one of Nigeria's best player at the last men's u20 competition almost didn't make the team because the coach Manu Garba didn't want him. He was literally forced on him if I remember correctly. Courtney Dike was the exception, and it took a coach like Peter Dedevbo for that to happen. 2. If you successfully make it to camp, the next challenge is scaling the philosophical mindset of an average Nigerian coach. Most believe in a mythical "Nigerian football pattern" that doesn't exist, and believe players born abroad aren't suited for it. It's why Attervall never featured for the u20 even though she miraculously made the final cut. 3. I hope you all know that had a Nigerian coach been in charge, none of Toni and Nicole Payne, Jennifer Echegini, Ashleigh Plumptre, Michelle Alozie etc would be in the current Super Falcons setup. 4. Finally, like I said yesterday, this isn't criticism of Coach Bankole's list. I have always maintained coaches should be allowed the liberty to choose their list and I don't even know the girl enough to advocate on her behalf. This is just something I have noticed over the years and thought to share. Hoping this crop of girls provide us the needed talent pool to get our next stars from. |

Deltamani:I had to ask o because I need to know the basis on which many want her to be part of the squad. I've not watched her before. That said, I still think we should let the coach pick his team. Correct me if I'm wrong but the bulk of this team played the qualifiers. I wish Simeone well |

Daninya33:She just barely made her debut for the senior team, where did u see goals and assists definitely on the youth side she does but I don't think she has even played that much as a senior. Oliseh didn't overlook Leon. He told Ekong he was too soft for African football and I don't see anything wrong with him saying that. As an athlete that is supposed to push u to prove him wrong. Either that or retire and write a book about it. Just like Waldrum told okobi she wasn't good enough for his team and she ended up helping the same team get to a world cup. U can't say I told u so to Manu Garba cos it's not like he Fisayo started playing for City immediately after that happened. Even when he left England he had to go to Turkey before Lazio. Bankole Olowookere just finished 3rd at this same world cup. His team looked like world beaters all through qualification. This is not a case like the U20s where holes are glaring. The man said he will add exceptional players. If he didn't feel Simone was exceptional we just have to accept that. I feel her experience in camp was unforgettable. When she gets older she will realize that the memories and friends she gained are almost as important as going to the tournament. There is nothing wrong with having something to work towards. She can still make the next U20 squad. |

Deltamani:Comfort Folorunsho was the best defender for us at that tournament and we should see more of her at the CAF Women's Champions League with Edo. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 11:09am On Oct 02, 2024 |
Deltamani:U didn't say this when she didn't make a weaker team in the Falconets. If Mary Aderemi with world cup and Champions League experience didn't make the team, u guys should be calming down. |

I Never Thought Of Representing Nigeria... Now I See The Possibility - Brooke Nunn🇳🇬🦅 The 31-year-old Central Coast Mariners FC ( Who Plays in the A-Women’s League Australia) Playmaker Speaks...! “I got my Nigerian heritage from my mother, who is half Nigerian and half German,” Nunn revealed. “But owing to the paradigm shift in recent years, which handed players outside the country who are of Nigerian descent the possibility to represent the country, has given me hope and faith that I can also have an opportunity to play for Nigeria.” Let’s see if Super Falcons interim coach, Justin Magudu will draft Brooke Nunn into his squad ahead of the Forthcoming WAFCON.

BascoVanVeli:Non of the Defenders at the U20 showed that they’re good enough to get a spot on the roaster at all… Shukurat was showing Potentials but when she got to the World Cup she didn’t perform to expectations but again with what I saw at the U20 World Cup, I will pick her ahead of Comfort💯 |

isan:Of course they’re not, but again that doesn’t stop a Player who had an excellent performance there from making the SuperFalcons Roster.. The Investment that League is getting is just at the highest levels, But most of these Big names will still turn down their huge Salaries…. I would love to see Asisat Oshoala move there for retirement Plan…. At least $1M-$2M annual salary can tempt her there. She don still chop China Money b4 sef.. |

As FIFA has formally launched women’s futsal by holding the inaugural women’s World Cup, next year (Nov - Dec) in the Philippines, I hope the NFF are making plans to raise and support a team that would qualify for the event… |
