The challenge is that the school is among designated learning institution but non pgwp approved... A Friend there advised me to go for it since they allow earn as you learn... He said while on the program I will get PR by applying for Nova Scotia provincial nomination program which will not be difficult since it's a health program and it's in high demand in the province... Guys is this really worth going for? The tuition fee is about 11k cad.. |

My husband's sowp was denied in April alongside my children's study. I just finished my program and I have applied for study permit extension to start another program in January (using Gckey) but no reply yet. How do I start d process of the vv for my husband and study visa for my children? Can someone here put me through? Do I apply under my Gckey or I should open their own? Is there a faster link apart from Gckey? Our previous applications were done my an immigration consultant but now I want to do everything myself |

You just spoke the mind of the people here in diaspora. I have spent 40M on this journey. I can't go back home again so we have to keep moving. I have friends here that will start crying once it's close to end of the month cos they need to pay their rent for the new month. We eat what we see not what we like. I had to use scissors and cut my hair cos I don't have money to make my hair. I finally got a job after 4months of being here but I can't even get 20hrs in a wk. Sometimes, na 8hrs/wk. If I screenshot my indeed application, e reach 50 na so so unfortunately I dey get. Ka saa ma dupe#sigh# walenden: |

Trust22:I am not a professional but I would recommend you to avoid any school or program that does not qualify for a PGWP. You can find schools and program that are close to 11k per year. Check out Northen Lights College in BC. It is relatively affordable and has campuses in more affordable areas than Vancouver. I am not sure its Care Assistant program qualifies for PGWP. I think that program is less than 8 months. Read more on their website. |

Ritaikogho:Some reviews about Boarder Pass has not been flattering, you can check online too. I read some where that some students elected to apply themselves rather use BP. You could engage your school on this. |

It seems Colleges protested to IRCC and they have changed it from Study permits approved to Study Permits applied for from November 1st 2024. So bro you escaped, it won't be apply to you as far you applied before November 1st and your application got approved. Congrats. Lovebuddy: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Jeboy(m): 10:21pm On Oct 07, 2024 |
If you applied before November 1st 2024, it won't apply to you. Just hope your application is approved and when you go to study the course you will be exempted from the new PGWP eligibility for long term labour shortage courses. YulPapparrazi: |

Chidirolex:Part of it is luck, and part of it is grace. My sponsor is my sibling (same surname), a Canadian. He has been supporting me financially for sometime with evidence in my bank account (5 months MyBankStatement and Statement of account submitted). He paid my tuition deposit and transferred money to my 9ja account to support my visa. My closing balance was less than 5m naira (no huge deposit except about 1m naira from my sponsor). I did upfront medical to potentially reduce the processing time because I was worried the program start date is near (Jan 2025). My sponsor ensured the money in his Canadian account could cover my tuition and living expenses for the whole program (not 1 year) and still has about C$15k remaining. There was no huge deposit in his account, just his normal salary (five months statement submitted). His yearly income is about 4x my one year tuition and living expenses (employment document and payslips submitted). I really was not expecting it to be this fast as the processing time have been increasing lately and I completed biometrics two weeks ago. I know people that applied before me with College Diploma admission and are still waiting, but I don't think the admission type matter and could count against an application. I was probably lucky with the processing time and result. I am grateful to God and doesn't take for granted the priviledge I have with my sponsor's profile and the direct relationship we share. |

Jeboy:Thank you. To clarify, do you mean one can apply for PGWP alongside study permit. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Jeboy(m): 7:36am On Oct 08, 2024 |
No now, u apply for PGWP when you complete your study without any carry over or outstanding. One must be completed as a requirement for the other. YulPapparrazi: |

Good morning everyone here, Please, I need advice regarding my student visa application. I have been given admission with funding to study for my MSc in a School in North Oshawa as a research assistant but I am to pay $2500 for acceptance. I am 29 years finished school 6 years ago. My employment history has not been really consistent. What amount do I need for my POF? What documents do I need to submit? Please @technix, @saucekid50 and other gurus here I need your help. I do not want this opportunity to pass me by. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by YulPapparrazi: 8:44am On Oct 08, 2024 |
Jeboy:Ok thank you, then that means those that applied for a study permit before Nov 1 will still fall under this new requirements according to IRCC because they’ll need to apply for a PGWP afterwards. |
