Jsaviour:
Please how can one book a new appointment to submit the requested additional documents incase of 221g refusal since the old site isn't working again?

It was rejected in August and since then, I haven't been able to book to go submit the document.

Thank you
🤠

1. Your 221g slip should contain specific instructions. Some will require you to submit via e-mail , while some will require physical drop-off, and some require physical appearance again.

2. For physical appearance or drop off, visit the new website AVITS ..

https://www.usvisaappt.com/visaapplicantui/login

* Sign up with your official details
* Chose embassy location , Lagos/Abuja
* Chose payment option
* Pay MRV with the chosen option
* Wait for payment confirmation (24 hrs)
* Proceed with appointment scheduling.

3. When you are through above, you will receive IW qualification letter , as well as option of picking your drop off date .

Then, visit OIS for the 2nd phase.

https://www.oisservices.com/services

* You will use your IW qualification letter and other confirmation from AVITS to book another drop-off appointment date with OIS. The next step would be, to go and drop the required document at OIS office.

Mine has been pending since 20th Sept 2024. I check my portal everyday and calls them everyday, even OyoTunji seems to have given up on my case.

* She is not in a unique situation, she is in a dicey situation.

* She has done something sneaky, and has been caught. * If her studentship story is real, then she does not actually need a renewal, all she need is another Form I-20 , SEVIS transfer , etc which can be handled by her DSO.

1. When she submitted her IW, the USA embassy quickly denied her VISA application because, she has committed material fraud. Yes , they discovered travel anomalies and tampering of passport, b/cos there was no entry stamp or her passport contained fake entry stamp.

2. While the USA consular officers are wondering how the passport ended up in their hands without the holder entering Nigeria, all of a sudden, someone or the owner applied to withdraw her passport. Now, tell me ,how do you expect a whole USA embassy to release such a passport ? Hence, the embassy decision to give her a VIP appointment in order to come and drink coffee tea with Jeera biscuits, while answering few questions come Oct 10th, 2024.

PS: I won't be able to give any concrete solution (s) here. Perhaps, i will need the genuine truths (Wisdom is profitable to direction). But hopefully, other experienced Nairalanders can give their opinions.

PS: If she failed to honour the court (USA embassy), they will report her to her school and have her studentship terminated. Thus; becoming illegal in the USA.

1. Sir. I don't need to watch any staged-television on nairaland. If your story is true, then, that lady is in soup, and if you are just preparing to pull the stunt, please don't try it.

* Nobody should believe this OP, what he is trying to introduce was only possible 10 years ago. It is 100% impossible now, except with a wizard or magic assistance.
* Another probability is to bribe the immigration officials over there in the US, and right here in Nigeria, but i don't think any immigration official will prefer prison terms to a respectable federal job.

Maybe na this YouTuber cast this method.

But does this method involve getting an entry Naija stamp on your passport?
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by JohnZak:
Your friend has a lot of explaining to do. Best bet is for them to come clean to the embassy and hope for the best.

Except things have changed, you have to be physically present in Nigeria to qualify for IW in Nigeria. This is not the same thing as submission by proxy!! Your friend did not answer this question truthfully. Even the guy in the youtube link you posted stated, between the 6:40 and 6:59 mark of the video, that the physical presence question was one of the questions he had to answer and then he conveniently did not tell the host how he responded to the question.

The truth is guy may have problems at some later point because the visa issuing post will show Abuja but there won't be a record of him entering the US with that visa. Although the I94 does not show his visa number, CBP records have the visa #. His most recent I94 will be associated with his previous visa and that might be a problem in the future when he tries to re-enter the US or change status and he meets a diligent CBP officer. His visa will show an issue date of 2023 and the most recent i94 will show a date before 2023 because he was not admitted into the US with that visa which is suspicious.

I do not know if you are trying to boost the youtube link but the content that the host and the guest are sharing is wrong and risks jeopardizing people's immigration status. He may have been lucky this time but not everyone will be lucky. Case in point is your friend in San Diego

NorthernshoreTS:
Hello everyone,

First, I want to thank you all for your valuable contributions to this forum.

I’m hoping for some advice on behalf of a friend who is in a unique situation. She completed her MSc at San Diego State University in June this year and was immediately admitted to a PhD program at the same university, which she just started. Since her F-1 visa expired in July 2024, she applied for a renewal through the Interview Waiver (IW) process. However, she did this by proxy—she sent all the required documents, including her passport, to her dad in Nigeria, who submitted the application via DHL on June 12, 2024, on her behalf.

Two weeks later, she tracked her application and saw that it had been refused. She expected to receive a 221g letter from the US Embassy with further instructions, but after waiting for 9 weeks, she still hadn’t heard anything. On Monday, October 6, 2024, she applied to withdraw her passport as she needed it urgently. However, the embassy responded with an email scheduling her for an interview on Thursday, October 10, 2024—just two days away. The problem is that she can’t leave the U.S. because her passport is still with the US Embassy in Lagos.

If anyone has advice on what she can do or how she should proceed, it would be greatly appreciated.

The problem now is that I forgot to print her invitation letter before the old site went away, on the new site I can see that she has an appointment but no date and time on the letter. Is there a way I can get the appointment letter from the old site? As we don’t know what
time she should appear at the consulate for her interview.
Also we still have her old MVR payment receipt from GTB as she had applied for interview waiver but she was returned with the 221g and the earliest date we got was this year
Pls I hope this will not cause any issue? Can anyone help? If you have been in this situation before

No it doesn’t. The OIS appointment date is what is being used at the ois office. When I submitted mine last week at their Abj office, they did not attend to people that had the AVITS appointment. They told them they had to book a new appointment on ois website cos that is the valid one.
Please have you been able to track your visa application after submission? They told me I should wait for a mail when I submitted at OIS.

Hey there! Welcome to part 5 of this thread. It's time for new beginnings as old things pass away. In the event of such an occurrence, kindly call/email the embassy to sort it out.

@OyoTunjiUSA. I'm not quite sure how to respond to this post. I am not in any way trying to introduce/promote anything. I have brought up an issue currently being faced by a young friend of mine.

No need to cast aspersions on the posts or the OP cos it may influence others to act in similar manner. My young friend is reading the comments here and she is already feeling traumatised about the seemingly negative comments and has even asked me to take down the post. But I told her we shouldn't cos I believe even if she has made a mistake, it's not the end of the world and others can also learn from it.

I just confirmed from her, she answered "Yes" to the Question of being "physically present in Nigeria" after contacting the guy in the video who told her he also answered Yes when the question prompt came up. That's actually misrepresentation, so I'm starting to see the illegitimacy of this whole process.

That youtube video should be taken down to avoid misleading others. I'll tell her to reach out to the youtuber who posted the video.

1. Go back to my first comment sir. I started with ' She is in a dicey situation " because i thought both of you did not understand what she has done, perhaps, someone (not you ...possibly online influence or a travel agent, or just her personal reasoning) has given her the possibility of the proxy renewal. After that, i elaborated on the possibilities (which i am 85% sure of) of what could have happened in order to open the eyes of others , and to explain to you what exactly happened , so that you can come back to ask for solution.

2. Instead of that, you came back in your second post, as a defensive mercenary and trying to convince everyone that submission by proxy is not a new thing, and supporting your claim with a YouTube footage. Does that not indicate you as the original creator of the stunt or implicate you ? Okay, go back to the YouTube creator for solution, since you believe in the footage.

3. All my trainings over the years (more than 20 yrs) ie, from Nairaland, from schools, seminars, visa attorneys, and from personal researches has turned me into a USA VISAS Psychologist therefore, i will apprehend 7 culprits out of 10.

PS: I am a professional person, it's a rule : Don't mock victim, Don't extort victim, Don't exagerate victim's problem, and don't use or keep victim or client's personal belongings (in various forms) for future use.

1. If they asked you to not pay another MRV, that usually means submission via email. If otherwise, the same e-mail will clearly indicate how you are going to schedule another appointment. Or, possibly they will send to you another email link for your automatic scheduling for free. Screenshot the email to Nairaland (cover your personal details) if you can , as well as your 221g.

PS: 90% of 221g cases needs physical sight seeing of the instructional papers. Otherwise, everyone will only be generalising. Or call the help-desk.

* You are a smart son, for having kept the Aug appt letter and the rescheduled email.

1. Naturally, if you log in to AVITS , print out the new (blank) appointment letter , combine it with the old appointment and the rescheduled email, then Mama should be fine to attend her interview come November 15th.

2. But before that, use all the printouts as suggested in sense - 1 above to open a support ticket (complain message) inside Mama's AVITS profile , and call the held-desk verbally. Perhaps, they may ask you to reprint a clearer appointment letter .

PS: Momsy's IW was converted to physical interview for personal questioning. They want to know if she has not being doing some au pair, if she is still fit physically for travel, or perhaps she overstayed in her previous travel.

If you have a case of 221g temporary refusal, do not rush to pay another money to book appointment since you can't book appointment there without payment.

Use the navigator, send the office admin an email, register on the new site and wait a bit

They are likely to respond to you with a new date via email.

That's what happened in my case
