CAF don probably already sell broadcasting rights for the match

That's probably why Motsepe was trying to beg our officials to go ahead with the match..

Man probably has to make refunds and deal with image rights issues
But then, that match should never have held in Libya
The country is still not safe

Only best outcome for CAF and probably for all parties (if it's all about broadcasting rights and financial gains) is to set the rematch for a later date and at a neutral ground (preferably in South Africa), cause it will be foolhardy to play the rematch in any North African country at this point, and the Libyans wouldn't want it either in a West African country. At least a grudge and emotionally charged rematch where revenge is the goal will be one to talk about for days.

It's a highly diplomatic matter, any side that's punished will make CAF look partial and if they punish both sides, it won't make sense either as that can never be seen as a deterrent rather CAF should see it as an opportunity to strengthen its rules, especially for teams who think they can win in the boardroom and not on the pitch that's when it will make sense.

CAF should also try to monitor team arrivals at airports so as to get firsthand info themselves instead of relying on social media evidence. Africa am sorry is still backward on many matters so to assume people will always be right all the time is too much assumption. If they need to put more funds into employing people to do this monitoring they should do so for the development of the game.

Odun if you read the first paragraph well it's an open question I have asked. Then my other paragraph says let's even say they were not properly treated based on the official report of the libyan federation, they did not also envisage Nigeria's counter reaction through social media and this is not good for their country's waning imagine as a stable and peaceful country. At the end they lost the battle

This is whole situation is why I am reserved in voicing any support for the situation in Palestine. This severe maltreatment of Black Africans by Arabs has been going on far too long, remains unchallenged and stems from the Trans Saharan Arab slave trade. The focus is always on Europe and their imperialist past, but Arabs (especially North Africans) have been arguably treating our people in much worse fashion.

Definitely. This has gone beyond football. It has become a security issue. The UN has to intervene before war breaks out between Nigeria and Libya. 😏😏

Libya is of little to no importance economically to African football, I see no reason for carefulness. We just had an AFCON that was in the news for all the right reasons with Nigeria contributing to the memory.
The least CAF can do is a reschedule of this game to a neutral venue and an apology.

Yes, this is a prime opportunity for CAF to strengthen its rules.

Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina is a target of Serie A side Roma who are reportedly looking at stealing him away from the club when his contract expires in the summer.

The 28-year-old has started every Premier League game for the Reds so far this season and is known for his versatility in the full-back role which has seen him play both on the left and on the right in an impressive season so far.

This fantastic start has caught the attention of Roma who according to Gazzetto dello Sport are tracking the defender and say that Aina is an ‘expert’ in the full back role.

The report also says Aina came to the attention of Roma whilst he was playing for Torino where he impressed for four seasons before joining Forest in 2023. The 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer and Roma could start opening negotiations on a summer free transfer in January over a potential June departure.

Forest must start discussions with the talented defender or risk losing him to a pre-contract from January with interested foreign teams.

Its part of why I don't expect CAF to do much in terms of sanctioning Libya

South Africa also has a big grudge against us. Apparently they faced similar issues in Nigeria back in 2018 or so. Add to that their normal Xenophobic hate for anything Naija.

Morocco would do as a neutral venue. Although its an Arab state, they have a lot more security, stability and standard infrastructure.

In addition, Morocco is currently bidding to host several big international tournaments so they wouldn't want to destroy their hosting credibility by playing dirty tricks.

Lol. I only pity our brothers in Libya if we should stage an e-war on the Libyans like we did to South Africa.

Those Libyans have no conscience or self control, are unbelievably ràcist and possess a natural inclination to violence. Add to that the fact that most parts of the country are essentially in a state of anarchy without effective government control and you can easily see how this could quickly turn into a bloodbath for Nigerian migrants and other blacks there.

that's why the bigger blame is on them. To certify libya as safe for any other country to come go through such atmosphere is unsportsmanlike. A neutral venue wasn't even part of their deliberations before including them in the qualifiers? Mo le sepe fun Motsepe o.

On the other hand, i dunno what the score the Nigerian side on their intervention card on this matter. 17hrs of no food and water is not beans.
