These ones are with their own hands building a case against themselves. Now they cannot claim "unforeseen circumstance" anymore

CAF is the one on trial here, they will have to judge if Libya was right in taking matters into their own hands by retaliating more dangerously. How many hours were they held hostage in Nigeria?

I have said it before until CAF moves its headquarters away from North Africa, we ain't getting out of the woods.

This also shows Nigeria made a good decision by evacuating the players, imagine the FA still having that kind of mind after the Eagles have left.

Why should I use hopium, do u believe Nigerians of al races can't unite to forge a new country, instead of saying it is unreasonable ideal?

Some Players to keep eyes on

1. Arierhi Kparobo (Beyond Limits): This lad has been my favorite local number 9 talent in Nigeria for over a year now. Fast, strong, two footed, lethal finisher. He's a sharpshooter. I could go on and on but just know that this one has my seal of approval talentwise. If all goes well, he could become the next Osimhen.

2. Raphael Oyebanjo (Shuffle): Do you remember the fantastic midfield 4 of Ebube Okere, Ozor Okeke (now at Elfsborg), Basil Mbata and Raphael Oyebanjo?? Yes... this is one of them. Raphael Oyebanjo himself. I did a talent dossier on him back in 2022 or 23. I will find it and quote it again. He is a midfield trojan. My dossier will say the rest.

3. Charles Agada (Mavlon headed to QPR): This kid is powerful, lethal and a beast forward. We saw him at the U17 Afcon under Ugbade. A game changer on his day and knows his way to Goal.

4. Israel Ayuma (Mavlon now at NK Istra): This central midfield pearl is a delight. Tall, strong, technical. He has the talent to become better if he keeps at it.

Libyan Football Federation statement:

We are deeply concerned about the recent reports surrounding the diversion of the Nigerian national team’s flight ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Libya.

While we regret any inconvenience caused, it is essential to note that such incidents can occur due to routine air traffic control protocols, security checks, or logistical challenges that affect international air travel.

These are standard procedures at airports worldwide, and delays or rerouting, though unfortunate, are not uncommon.
We have the utmost respect for our Nigerian counterparts and want to reassure them that the diversion of their flight was not intentional.

There are no grounds to accuse the Libyan security teams or the Libyan Football Federation of deliberately orchestrating this incident. Such actions are inconsistent with our values and principles.

We firmly reject any claims that suggest foul play or sabotage in this situation.
It is important to highlight that just last week, our own national team faced significant challenges upon our arrival in Nigeria for the third match of the Africa Cup of Nations qualification.

Despite the difficulties we encountered, we did not make public accusations nor question the integrity of the Nigerian authorities. Football, in its essence, unites nations, and we are committed to upholding the spirit of fairness and mutual respect both on and off the field.

In Libya, we pride ourselves on our hospitality and our welcoming nature. We have always prioritized treating all visiting teams, including our African brothers and other international delegations, with the respect and dignity they deserve.

Hosting these events is a great honor for us, and we strive to ensure that all teams feel safe and respected as our guests. This commitment to equality and hospitality is a core aspect of our culture and tradition.

We hope that this misunderstanding can be resolved with understanding and goodwill. Our doors are open to our Nigerian brothers and all African teams, and we continue to promote the spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and friendship in the world of football.
In other words, it's do me I do you no cheating 🤣🤣🤣

The Libyan FA just confirmed that this was intentional.

Apologies? I won’t be surprised if Caf grant libya the 3 point and even subtract an additional point from Nigeria. It could had been libya initial intention from the onset. I remember Togo being banned for not honoring a game even after a huge attack on their bus

You must not know your history. Go and read what happened after 1996 ANC was boycotted by Nigeria even the best African team at that time and see the repercussions

Just watched this Ola Aina's vlog.

Truly. It made me smile and laugh.

In all their shenanigans. the Libyans made a costly mistake by not blocking nternet access..

The internet access allowed us to escalate the issue via social media, and they effectively lost the info war.

By the way. was it the airport WIFI the players were using or were they given local sims with internet access? How were they able to access the internet?

How BP was formed and the refusal to make them enjoy their oil. Chai. Mossadegheh house arrest and eventually demise. Smh.

They're doing that to Nigeria in a modified format. Installing stooges and sucking dry everywhere. I don't like Ayatollah Kho one bit either.

Usa and Britain eh..
One day the whole world will realize who controls Britain and the United States and uses them for its own ends

The plan is that their players will show up on the pitch at the designated kick off time.. so it will appear that Nigeria didn't show up .that would give CAF ground to award them 3 points according to the rule of the game...

It's now up to CAF to review the events and judge appropriately..

Goke7:
And you think it’s only in Nigeria such happens? Why do you think some countries insist one must land in a particular airport for immigration purposes and clearance, Libya didn’t get their plans right. And when they were told Uyo couldn’t receive them don’t they have enough educated people among them or back in their country to explain properly to them without reading any foul play? Are they the first team to play in uyo? This is clearly simple misunderstanding on their own part first thing they should have checked is if the eagles themselves flew into Uyo directly and see if Nigeria was mischievous. All what they are saying in the media is that we allowed them land 200km away from the match venue, was that in any way intentional from us?
In any case, if they felt they were unjustly treated why not report to CAF?

What they did was extreme to unacceptable degree. 18 hours deliberate delay as a revenge for a supposed 3 hours delay.
If they had won the match would they have treated our team this way?

Gaddafi loved sport. He sponsored and financed Ghana team to AFCON tournament, infact, they defeated his team in the final and lifted the trophy. It was all fun then..good the team is coming back home, but holding on till they safely land in Nigeria. Am still scared for them.
Yea Gadaffi loves sport. I mean Libya was the Original AFCON host in 2013 before NATO did their thing and invaded/destabilized the country in 2011, leading to Gadaffi being killed. That was why South Africa had to do an Emergency hosting in 2013 as the replacement

omo they were really abandoned meehn…same spot for over 15hrs.
so what happened to that luxurious bus that later came? Libyan FA can use that as an evidence that they were provided a comfortable A/C bus to transport them😁

Exactly, the reason i said our teams in the past had endured such similar situations. I remember such scenarios well in the past.

e for sweet if these guys held us hostage on a match day 😜 would have love to know the excuse they will give. Just shows our off needs to be dealing with opposing national teams case by case basis going forward. Not all African teams value fair play
