Visa Alert!
I am a silent reader and I happened to stumble again on this thread just after I submitted my application. ( Its almost becoming a norm for most people to discover this thread after submitting an application with mistakes cheesy.)
I submitted an application to visit the UK for our family of 6. My husband, to sponsor the trip for us all.

Mistake:
I entered the individual amount we would be spending in the space provided to answer the question "How much would you spend personally". I misinterpreted the question to mean, what's our individual budget for the trip. so instead of putting 1pound or NGN as the case maybe, I went ahead and wrote the whole sum!
I was so scared after i discovered this mistake but thanks to @cashmadam who said in one of her posts that God is still in the business of doing miracles, lol, I decided to be calm and let God do his thing!

I think some of these helped my case too:

1. There was a personalized sponsorship letter from my husband for myself and children, stating how much each of us would spend and how much he is providing.

2. After making the mistake of entering the total sum instead of putting 1pound or NGN (since our trip is entirely sponsored by my husband), in the ''How much would you spend personally" question, I still repeated the exact amount as what our sponsors would provide. For instance, after putting 3,000,000 NGN as what we would personally spend, I wrote 3,000,000 NGN as what my sponsor would contribute towards the trip. So I guess the ECO was able to figure that I misinterpreted the question.

3. I provided a detailed itinerary of our planned 3 weeks visit.

But in all, I want to attribute it to God, cause it could have gone the way regardless! Anyways, thanks to all the angels here, @giselle and @cashmadam, I have learnt how to properly fill the forms now, and I wont be making same mistake next time! To other applicants that may have made same mistake, I honestly think ECO's are trained to figure misinterpretations of questions and innocent mistakes. So I pray it works out well for you as it did for me. I have attached one of @cashmadam's response that gave me hope. Indeed God does show mercy! All the best!

Congratulations.

Did you submit your work details and personal statement or just the single statement of your husband as sponsor?

Hello Everyone,

Please when will it really start to get cold, I mean when will real winter start in the UK?

November or December?

Thanks.
I stated I am self employed, so I submitted my business and personal statements. I attached the statements after my sponsors own and wrote an introduction letter clearly stating that my husband is sponsoring the entire trip.

Yeah but who made the 7 weeks compulsory out of 18 months? That’s not even upto a fraction of the time and is negligible. Explore the Canadian visa/pr threads on nairaland. They have better information about gift deeds
The research centre. It's a period to work with one's academic mentor closely, access library and collaborate with other scholars. Then, you go back to continue virtually.

Thank you for your time.

Your sister would be providing accomodation and feeding right?

How much is your total cost?

Ticket, accomodation and feeding estimate, let's say £2000.

Your sister can cover £1500 under is anyone else paying for your travel?

Under how much are you personally spending put £500 or it's equivalent in Naira
Thanks so much
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Odbestie: 6:42am On Oct 19, 2024
Opeyemi007:
No. How much will this trip cost you? £1000
That should be enough for ticket and small shopping.

Poster doesn’t need to state their sister is contributing money to the trip. They should just state they’re visiting family, and give address and invitation letter from the said sis saying she’s providing accommodation.

If they(poster) should state sis is contributing money t the trip, the sis would have to provide her bank statement, instead of the just providing utility letter to prove address and stuff.
Thanks so much

Nope. We however had a UK visa in 2016, which we did not use because it was approved after our proposed travel date. We were a family of 3 then.

We submitted:
1. My husbands bank statements (corporate and personal)
2. Introduction letter from my husband that explained the nature of his business and a separate letter explaining the cash inflow and outflows in his bank statements.
3. Detailed itinerary of our trip. We detailed our accommodation plan, activities we would be doing and also estimated the costs of all these.
4. He wrote sponsorship letters for each of us, stating how much we would each spend and that he is covering the entire cost.
5. I wrote an introduction letter for myself, included my bank statements and also included my husband’s. And I clearly stated in the letter that he would be sponsoring. The balance in both my statements was not up to 200k. But the statements had good detailed inflow and outflow. 6months statement.
6. We also included my husband’s personal income tax receipts. He’s business is registered as a business name, so he only pays Personal income tax. He however files his annual returns with CAC so his business is active on their site.
7. Lastly we provided a lot of documents to proof home tie. Landed property docs, pics of business premises, payment receipts etc.
8. And the reason for the trip too also mattered I guess. This year is our 10th year wedding anniversary. That’s the reason we are visiting to celebrate it.

Please after masters in the UK what's the probability of staying back. I intend travelling with family and I learnt it must be masters of research but my question is, after masters, how many years of Post graduation work permit will I get and what's the chances of changing my visa to work visa during this period and staying back?
What about my kid's school fees, on the average what does it cost in UK. I really want to know especially the probability of getting work visa after study because I will be leaving my job here and wouldn't want to come back.
Your candid opinion will guide me accordingly.
Thanks

I can't find application status after I logged in. I just want to see for myself. The login details I have is to the Gov.uk site.

In January 2024 your dad said his spouse is Mrs A.B
Now in Sept or thereabouts of same year, your dad said his spouse is Mrs. K. Z
Different individuals, no explanation for the change and he submitted declaration statement of marriage, no marriage document nothing… are they not within their rights to ask questions on this account ?
Also he wants to spend 50 million naira and also travel with this newly appeared ‘spouse’ and no details… why won’t they be afraid? And he claims on a business meeting trip… did he provide evidence of all these?
Pls he should address all the reasons for the refusal as it has been stated by them in very simple english.

Also he had a 10 year visa which just expired in 2024… his immigration history also played a part in the refusal as they mentioned.. he should check that he did not abuse his visa or flout any rules in the last 10’years and only just receiving the punishment now.
He just needs to go back to the drawing board and address any of their pending questions first

Why the agent never run him own successfully and for all his family ? Why? Sometimes we give these people too much power especially when we know we do not ordinarily qualify for a visa.
