The commentator should stf. Praising haram ball like it is gold. The Dom team are also taking a lot of time restarting the game from every throwin and goalkick.
grin
The guy was stating the obvious. Na you wan callam haram. Na u17 na😂
Do they look like they can get 4 successful passes in the 1st place?

Foolishness is still doing that shooting while making their gk look like prime Buffon or Van der Sar.

If na us, you go praise that Mercedes o😆😆
But we made them look extraordinary. Not them. Us!!

Ahhh. You don praise two both of them. Nice👏🏿👏🏿

Only US can be our own undoing at this ko stage. Luckily the firepower of our forwards should be enough to win USA. Only issue is our defense will get the test of their lives this time. Provided we aren't wasteful or foolish like tonight....

40 shots vs Dom really shows the outcome
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 2:07am On Oct 23, 2024
If Ifitezue and Animashaun were lethal in their decision making in the final third in that first half, the Dom girls would have given up before the second half even came around and no one would be praising the Dominican haram ball.

Mercedes and Rondon should milk this for what it's worth but na serious haram.

Yeah, Adegoke got that swagger. Solid in duels, good on the ball. The most confident of our back 4.
I won't be surprised they'll convert her to a CB las las. Azeez got Wingback qualities as well. This handler should just let Ekezie continue on bench abeg.

Dom's 18, Sano, na pretty girl. Good with throwings ONLY😂😂😂
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 2:10am On Oct 23, 2024
Flamingoes stats across all three group matches

Total goal attempts : 107

Attempts on target: 38

% Pass accuracy : 78.6%

Ball possession: 68.3%

They sure would.

Ifi and Animashaun truly messed up. But see how imposing Chidi was almost immediately she entered. That Kareem no sabi that role. SS go fit her las las. But she lacks extra qualities for that.

Chai. We just dey pass ball to Rondon throughout. Coach carries the blame. He didn't stop it during halftime talks, meaning he wanted it grin

The budeying was hilarious sha. But duels and passes were okay
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 2:22am On Oct 23, 2024
41 shots
13 shots on target
Rondon saved 12/13

Olowookere, Dominican Republic thanks you so immensely for creating a GK that would be chased as the next Buffon.

See their accurate passes in 90mins(5, 6, 2 ,4). We made them look special.

The USA that I know would have compiled dossier on all our players and analyzed our pattern of play in details, and will come up with a way to neutralize us.

I don't feel good about meeting the Americans.

I feel that the Americans would execute a high-press strategy seeing that the defense are prone (especially the left side) to panic plays wherever our opponents mounted sustained pressure on them

Fun facts:

In the group stages of the U-17 WC, the Germans hold the record for the most goals scored at a single group stage - 22. Yes, the Germans scored a whopping 22 goals in 3 group matches at the 2010 edition! 🙆🏾

Meanwhile, the most goals scored by the Flamingoes at a WC group stage is 15, achieved at the 2012 edition.

At the 3rd place match of the 2022 edition, Ajakaye scored Nigeria’s 50th U-17 WC goal against Germany..

Moreover, as of the end of yesterday’s match, the Flamingoes have now scored 56 U-17 WC goals in 25 matches!
Updated goal tally is now 61 in 27 games
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 7:45am On Oct 23, 2024
Yesterday was the 4th time that the Flamingoes won an U-17 WC group, having also achieved the feat at the 2010, 2012, and 2014 editions.

Interestingly though, it was at the last edition, where they finished 2nd in the group, that the team broke it quarterfinal ‘jinx’..

History made in Santo Domingo! 🤩

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup match between Dominican Republic and Nigeria sees a record crowd of 13,535, resulting in the highest attended football match for any Dominican Republic National Team. 👏🇩🇴

Ekezie is better than Azeez. Azeez should return to the bench from whence she came.

Spot on!

If you a fan has observed this, I shudder to think how much data the americans would would have amassed on the flamingoes and their pattern of play with their professional match analysts cos they'll go way back to the WC Qualifiers.

I hope our coach and his crew will do their homework on the american team too cos this game will be won and lost from the bench.

The flamingoes can beat the US team but the coach has to be tactically astute, and not leave them to play their normal game, and be shouting orders like "follow am', "ma fun laye", "eh watch e", "iwaju' , 'emu eyan kan", etc from the sidelines grin

Ekezie has too many misplaced passes and isn't face enough. She's lucky Adegoke is faster, else... The
Two may have slight differences shaa. 😹😹

All those yoruba instructions sweet for olympics indoor events like wrestling and judo. 😹😹😹

But in football....

Olowookere did exact in India 2years ago. Many was lucky we had 2 CBs that helped us just like Mercedes did for Dom yesternight. There's a Reason i call him handler.

I also feel his taller assistant is more technical than him. One thing I'll not take away from him is how he organizes the team in unity and respect. That's his biggest impression since 2022.

Come to think of it. Maybe one of the reasons why Bankole chose Yoruba girls to constitute 95% of his team is so he can feel free barking instructions to them play-by-play in his native language. Speaking English under pressure can be difficult 🙂.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by WarHammer2000: 5:09pm On Oct 23, 2024
Anyways, the coach has reduced his shouting sef. At the India tournament he was something else. Baba used his mouth to play the whole tourney. He virtually barked instructions for every kick, every movement and every run.

And we've not even come to the Kabashing part😂😂😂

You're correct.

I perused the squad list and picked out 12 yoruba names out of 21. That's far from 90%.

You see that Moshood. Damn, the girl is too elegant with that left foot. Technical, physical, good passing range, excellent ball striking, late runs into the box, covers lots of grounds, etc. She is a special MF talent. If she keeps this up, she is destined for the biggest sides In Women's Club football. Just too good.
This Set is giving the 2010 Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹 U17 set that gave us the likes of Fransisca Ordega, Jane David, Ngozi Okobi and Halimatu Ayinde..

At least the front 3 can play at the next U20 World Cup together if Nigeria have a proper structure on ground.

Moshood is definitely a Falcon Material, she can be branded into a great forward/ AM.
