They stood a chance to at least get to the Final in the past, but right now I will place them in Semi Final level,
The only problem now is if the Coaches can replace them with same quality players as some of the key players that Won the WAFU tournament have left the club to move abroad.

Attacking Midfielder Suliat Abideen has just left for Turkey 🇹🇷

Maureen Umeughochukwu, also known as Nigeria Wendie Renard, is a 22-year-old athletic center back born on October 27, 2001. Her former coach at US Saint Malo described her as swift, aerially proficient, and visionary. Standing at 6 ft 2 in, Umeughochukwu leverages her height and physical presence to excel as a dominant defender, adept at winning aerial duels and effecting headed clearances, while posing a goal threat from set pieces. In the 2023-24 French League 2 season, her second full campaign in France's second division, Umeughochukwu demonstrated exceptional defensive clearance skills. Noted for her tackling prowess and comfort with the ball.

Umeughochukwu suits possession-based styles, boasting good positional awareness and game reading. Versatile, she can also play right back. Characterized as a tall, quick, and athletic defender, Umeughochukwu possesses necessary physical attributes for top-level center-back success. Nantes teammates praise her as a 'brick wall, tough tackler' and 'commanding aerial presence.' Umeughochukwu's speed, athleticism, and game understanding enable excellence in 1-v-1 and zonal marking situations.

She’s planning on returning to playing very soon sha…
Which I think she will also try and get back into the SuperFalcons but again, is going to be tough… We have got Toni Payne, Onyi Echegini and Esther Onyenezide in that position already… Okobi coming back will now drop who? Cause at a point i believe only Two can come in.. Payne & Echegini being the regulars plus Onyenezide trying to break in…!

National team places has to be on merit not past performances for any player. If at any point, Nkobi proves to be better than Payne, Echegini and Onyenezidane, then she deserves a call up. Let every lady fight and earn their spot.

I’m not saying she won’t get a call up ooo, if she get back to that 2014–2019 performance level (The peak of her Career) and even above she should get a call up… Again I don’t see the likes of Payne, Echegini & Onyenezide slowing down either… They would all want to keep their spots too….

Let the best and most inform get the call up…! But again she needs time to play her way back to the top level..

Agreed. Just saying she shouldn't be written off and we should not put the nail to the coffin before she "kpai".
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by isan(m): 4:28pm On Nov 01, 2024
She said the u17 can become super falcons in the future and the NFF should concentrate more on home based players , many people attacked her on the post on Instagram and she had off her comment section

Few days later Toni Payne had interview talking about how Nigeria is special to her she's got a tattoo of Nigeria map on her

Alozie dropped that comment under Toni Payne post

Playing poorly for the SuperFalcons doesn’t mean she shouldn’t do well for her Clubside….

She isn’t the first or the last either..!

Nigeria U17 2022 set have really produced a lot of talents and many of them are currently playing college football in the US 🇺🇸

Defender Sunday Blessing and Captain Alvine Dah Zossu are currently with North Idaho College Women's
Soccer in the US..

This is amazing I must say..

So u are still telling yourself she was poor against Algeria? She made a couple mistakes and u rushed to post, next thing we knew she had a goal and assist. Then she follows that up with another goal and assist for club. Better get used to Gift Monday cos she is going to be big for us.

There’s nothing to get used to there, If she’s big ooo. Good for her.

I think it was more than the poll itself - there were subtle jabs at the FB players (prompting the retorts from Tonie Payne and Alozie), which is not surprising in itself, considering she has always put her foot in her mouth whenever she is on social media (poor comments about Waldrum after a WAFCON, crass comments about her being left out of the WC, etc.). This is certainly not outside of the scope of what she would say.

The issue with here is she is still living in the past and is fiercely refusing to move into the future. She cannot seem to wrap her head around the fact that we live in a world where Nigerians in diaspora are also Nigerians. She has always been very myopic in her thought process. Unfortunately, people like her always become a relic of the past and end up being left behind.

By the way, this is the context of Toni Payne's post. ESPN Africa said that she has a few tattoos and they asked her what her favourite tattoo was.

She said that it's the shape of Nigeria (on her arm) and she explained why.

And she’s forgetting now that she has Swedish citizenship and she gave birth to her son in Canada where she currently resides which means her
Son is a dual citizen as well… So she mean to say now that if her son or a daughter if she gets one too plays football in the future he or she shouldn’t be considered for the National team because he’s foreign born ahbi?

She shouldn’t forget that she’s a mother and her child might decide to play football in the future and she looks like someone who isn’t going to reside in Nigeria having lived in Sweden and currently relocated to Canada with some of her family members as well…

Mk she mind her speech sha cause they can be used against her kids as well in the future… Ur Mama say mk NFF focus on the Local based players in the past…. whereas her own pikin na foreign born..
