I think it was more than the poll itself - there were subtle jabs at the FB players (prompting the retorts from Tonie Payne and Alozie), which is not surprising in itself, considering she has always put her foot in her mouth whenever she is on social media (poor comments about Waldrum after a WAFCON, crass comments about her being left out of the WC, etc.). This is certainly not outside of the scope of what she would say.

The issue with here is she is still living in the past and is fiercely refusing to move into the future. She cannot seem to wrap her head around the fact that we live in a world where Nigerians in diaspora are also Nigerians. She has always been very myopic in her thought process. Unfortunately, people like her always become a relic of the past and end up being left behind.
I agree wholeheartedly.

Also, it was a subtle famzing of the coach

U can be Nigerian all u want but the fact on ground is that when u are born in these countries u are also from there. So, we can't expect America to always overlook players like Toni and Michelle. We also would be silly not to develop our obviously talented youngins at home. That's like when pinnick was crying about Tammy when we had a whole Osimhen already.

The woman's child was born abroad so how much sense does ur comment even make? Are u saying she thinks her own child isn't Nigerianhuh She has always maintained that our youth program is the way to go. She came from the youth system so how hard is that to grasp?

Honestly I don't want to hear any crying from you especially. I remember how u used to diss homebase players but now u want to play a whole victim. At least Ngozi didn't say nothing good can come out of fb players like u did about homebase

So she can't shout out our U17 coach again? Even if she is throwing a jab at Waldrum, who careshuh Is he a better coach than Pep who gets attacked by former players? That's part of the game and now players are allowed to say their mind since he is gone.

Nigeria SuperFalconet Forward Flourish Chioma Sabastine leaves Stade de Reims to join Galatasaray 🇹🇷..

Galatasaray Petrol Ofisi has secured a 1-year contract with Flourish Sabastine, reuniting her with SuperFalcon Center Back Blessing Demehin. Born in 2004, Sabastine began her career at Unnich Football Academy, progressing to Bayelsa Queens and Stade de Reims 🇫🇷.

We wish her a successful tenure at Galatasaray.⚽️❤️🦅

As anticipated, you are all over the place with your response.
What has one thing got to do with the other? You do understand what 'dual citizenship' mean, don't you? And what intelligence does it make to ignore your talent in diaspora, just because you want to 'develop' the one at home? That is completely myopic and is tantamount to 'cutting your nose to spite your face'!

Well, why don't you ask her? Clearly, she didn't think long and hard enough to digest that obvious fact BEFORE posting her comments. And it is incredibly dumb of any National FA to disregard all other talents outside of those within their country, just because they want to 'develop home grown' talent. Both are not mutually exclusive and can be done concurrently, just as all other forward thinking countries, even in Africa, have been doing.

She is chubby too.

So she added a poll? She's dumber than i thought sha. She's seeing the strides someone like Ekong is having with the men's team and that's what is paramount for her at this junction? Is she even considering the factors that affect what she prefers?

Na me dey ask questions sha. Lol.

Egbon, perhaps you're right but on a norms, the babe no get sense.

Was there a need for the poll?

Nigerians born in diaspora are also Nigerians and deserve a chance to play for the national teams at all levels.

Its the reason I was pissed when that Irish-Nigerian gal was tossed around from U-20 to U-17 and the coaches ended up not picking her.

Okobi displayed intellect myopia and scored an own goal with that post

No, I'm not arguing about all that. I believe that Nigerians that are born abroad are Nigerians and have every right to play for Nigeria, just like other Nigerians and I believe that this does not stop the football authorities from having developmental programmes here in Nigeria. Everybody should compete for positions and the best person should be selected, no matter where he or she was born.

I'm just pointing out that she was referring to the U-17 coach, not the Super Falcons coach.

Number 1, I never said we should ignore anybody, so stop putting nonsense in my mouth. If u need help understanding just say so and let me explain myself better.

Now for my point, what age were Toni, Michelle and Ashleigh wen they got their first caps for us? What are the odds that players of this quality fall in our hand like that again? Shoot, what are the odds that they would even want to play for us when the time comes? I have no problem with any Nigerian playing for Nigeria. All I'm saying is that we have a working system which shouldn't be ignored. This is what I have been telling u since we started talking on this thread.

Get out ur feelings. Okobi didn't have to include that poll but nothing else she said was wrong.

Come on Senior. I can't respect u if u lie about this one now. U blatantly disrespected players that come out of Nigeria. If u want to deny this one, let's just end the conversation cos I can't respect that one.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 11:52am On Nov 04, 2024
The argument here the last few days is pointless.

First, Okobi can make any comment she choses to, as is her right. I really do not care much for her shenanigans as long as she not in the team. Same applies to Onome or any other player that's undeserving of being included in the Falcons. So allow her her right to free expression, it doesn't really count for much in the grand scheme of things.

Secondly, I've had enough back and forth with Basco to know he is unlikely to concede even if the point he's making is illogical (not saying he's making illogical points here). So except you have the time to (which I do sometimes) there's no point continuing with the conversation cause you won't win.

She has the body for the job but I don't think she is ready just yet. The good thing is that she is a starter at her club so she should keep getting better.

Naaah. It doesn't stick. Our u17 has been almost 100% homebased. Infact I can't remember a foreign born at u17 level. For u20, na Dike i remember and like other Nigerians that love talents, we still can't forget Courtney till date. She came, saw and showed us her worth. Just 1. Atterval in 2022 didn't even get minutes. Just 1 spot for her. That's why Simeone's treatment didn't make sense. She was eager to rep. She was demoted to u17 and still didn't get picked.

And then Ngozi sat, looked and thought this was sensible to drop a poll for when FBs are just getting binary numbers slots on the cadet teams? 😂

She's actually dumber than i thought and that's why I don't think it is about Flamingos. And if it is indeed about the flamingos, then she needs to goan learn statistics all over again cos it is not making sense. But one conclusion, dumb!!!

Kai!

Calm down, click on the link, read and understand. Don't be in a rush to react.

She posted a video reel of the U-17 team. She said that they were good and well coached. She said that she and many others came up from the U-17 and U-20. She was calling on the NFF to groom home based players from the U-17 and U-20 into the Super Falcons, rather than bringing in foreign born players into the Super Falcons.

Click on the link, watch the video, read the post, calm down and understand.

I still insist she's using it to take a jab and even the hyping of Bankole shows she doesn't know what she's saying too. The conclusion of what she meant you just said it now in your post. And that's why i maintain my pov on how she reasons. What is the % of FBs in the last decade that warrants such a stance from her? Are they up to 50% that can make us to now try agree with her?

She's just fanning embers for what is not under threat. In Falcons currently, fBs no even reach 7. In a few years, the ones in the team would be gone. And homebased will take over. FBs are the exceptions right now. If they're getting raves, it is because they're good. For now, foolish move by her.

And that's why i said it was totally unnecessary to add this part, especially in a poll. The FBs are not causing any problems to warrant such a post from her. The inference is she feels they should not be taking up slots. I maintain they're the exception till date so why is she making a big deal about the exception.

How many of them all are consistent if given a chance? How many come through the ranks. Did she think of all the factors that make all these things look like Fbs are getting spots?

Conclusion: she's foolish.

Simple. They don't like Okobi and she played into their hands by adding that poll. The small love she was getting from the birth of her child
must have pained them and now they want to bring things back to normal.

When Ngozi talked bad about the coach they cried for 40 days but when Randy talked bad about his Nigerian assistants they all supported him. It's not that hard to see what's in play.

There is no logic to your point. With the way you always defend her with your life, I hope she pays you and it’s not for nothing
