Congratulations, how did you fund your GIC account? Transfer from a domiciliary account or you have someone in Canada pay for you? Please advise, thanks MarksmanD: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by MarksmanD: 10:29pm On Nov 04, 2024 |
You can only fund a GIC account from your own account. I used my Dom account to do it. The bank I used was UBA. I was told to apply through the Form A portal first. No one can fund your GIC account for you. The sender(bank) and receiver (GIC) account name must match. If someone should pay for a GIC for you, CIBC would flag it and refund the money back to the person. If you have a foreign account, you can use it to send the money but if you don't have, then you will have to use a Dom account. Mrtoke: |

bullstriker:Good Morning Everyone, I have a quick question. I am seriously considering studying MBA in information systems and Management at International Business University, Canada. I want to ask if anyone has attended that school here, I need honest opinions. They are kind of the only university that offers masters in an IT related course that matches my available requirements, as most universities require a BSc in computer science which I don't have, I have BSc in Biochemistry. It also ticks the box of PGWP and been able to bring in my spouse too. What is holding me down is I need to get reference letter from my workplace to prove my work experience in IT but I just joined them and in January i will be confirmed hence that is when I can get the letter from them. I also want to know if there are other IT course (Masters) in other universities that I can consider. |

Good morning guys, I just woke up to a refusal letter today from IRCC. This is my first application. I have attached the reason for the refusal below. I submitted the sponsor’s statement of account tuning to over 23m. School fees of 9k were paid already. Investment certificate was also included. There was also land and business documents as well which i included as my proof of home ties. Please can anyone help me on what the next step will be? Please. My school resumes in January and I’m wondering whether to apply again or just defer my admission.

Islabelle:No panic, You can reapply. Let me address this in normal normal 9ja understanding ... Now, lets assume you are a visa officer for a sec, for one I think the funds from your sponsor should be in your account, not with the sponsor, except maybe a parent or your age may not allow them entrust the funds to you, hence the sponsor holding it, otherwise that 23m, it should be with you. also present your sponsor in such a way that that is not looking like 23m his last card. he needs to have sufficient funds to cover you and himself, that's why they read bank statements, so if they remove 23m from his financial activities shown in his statements, personal accounts oooo, but business account statements fit help, how does it look after that? Visa officer dey check am. Also, his statement-of-account has to be 6 months I think and it shouldn't be a new account. If its first semester only you paid, present the sponsor as having the financial capacity to pay next year and even a third year incase you fail a semester. I am trying to say present you sponsor as financially capable to handle your issues and still be living his or her life! Finally, 23m in CAD (I am using 1300 naira to 1 CAD ... I don't know the going rate for today or the day you applied) is 17,69k CAD, required cost of living funds is 20k CAD, sum all this up, hence its "insufficient" to the visa officer looking at your profile. Also, really really confirm the cost of you tuition and calculate it to the last kobo, you need to pay one year and show you have the capability to pay for subsequent years. I have seen one time when we thought the school fees was 10k per year, when in fact it was 10k per semester which translate to 20k a year. Visa officer kept on rejecting, it was the 3rd time someone pointed it out to us! So analyze well. Wish you Goodluck in this! |

otunbadan:Thank you so much. Please would it be possible to reach you for my reapplication.? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Bobomaigida: 8:08pm On Nov 07, 2024 |
Islabelle:Sorry about the refusal. The first thing is to request for your GCMS notes to know the exact concerns of the VO. In addition to the general concerns about the funds you have, the VO also mentioned lack of ties outside Canada, this could be attributed to the SOP not being written well. |

[quote author=TradeSunMoore post=132693564]YES APPROVED. Congratulations. Just wait to receive the request letter to submit your passport.. You are good to go. How long does it typically take for the passport request letter to be issued these days? It’s been over two weeks since the study permit tracker showed everything is completed, but I still haven’t received the passport request letter. |

1. It seem you're not married yet 2. What's your relationship with your sponsor 3. What are the documents presented to show financial buoyancy of your sponsor 4. | Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Islabelle: 11:31pm On Nov 07, 2024 |
Bobomaigida:Okay. I have requested for it. I included my family as proof of home ties and my sponsor’s (father) company. But that’s about it. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Islabelle: 11:41pm On Nov 07, 2024 |
sternakin:Thank you for your response. 1. Yes, I'm unmarried. So I was only able to include my family as proof of home ties. 2. My sponsor happens to be my father 3. I only submitted his CAC documents (although it was registered late last year), his shares with one company he used to work with, i submitted property documents, survey plans also 4. Right now, I do a few freelance writing and design projects for individuals so I couldn’t really use this as a proper work experience since my work isn’t registered yet. But I however submitted previous work experience between 2020-2023 which was much related to my profession. Although I added that I was a manager in my dad’s company as his company was related to my field of study. |
