Slide over to the travel forum.

But you need to have some basic information sorted out before you go researching or asking questions:

-How much money do you have to spend? How much can you save?
-What's your education and experience?
-What sort of jobs are you willing to do?
-Do you want to study abroad?
-Are you willing to learn a new language?
-What is your spouse's education/experience?
-Are your kids school age?
-How long are you willing to wait?
-Have you explored opportunities in neighboring countries?
-Have you tried remote work?

Whatever you do, don't use an agent. They're scammers. You can do all this yourself.

I don’t even know where to start from before going to sell my property before it becomes worthless in Nigeria.

Whoa. Don't rush to sell your property. What if you go abroad and it doesn't work out? Then what will you do?

You need to think and plan very carefully.

It's really not a good idea. And it may not be enough. It's more expensive now to go abroad. And countries are also making it a bit harder.

If you can't raise the money, you really should consider starting a business in a nearby country, like Cote D'Ivoire. You should also consider giving software development, data management, and data analysis another try. It's more than worth the effort.

However, you can also look into getting a scholarship for your wife to study in the US. Read the thread in the travel section about studying in the US. And ask people there. They'll be happy to help.

It's tough if you have a good skill then sure, but it's not all rosy it depends on how you move and how quick you can get a job

I will try data analysis again I stopped along the way. Wanted to use school route to Sweden where you can move with the dependent. Been thinking of work visa but too many scammers. Can’t imagine traveling and staying up to 5-7 years before getting papers

This is 2024. nothing special about travelling abroad anymore
u work your ass out if u intend to achieve anything here. if u are not naturally hard working and smart, its going to be same rat race with a pseudo consolation that u doing it for your kids.
laziness is not rewarded in anyway, sycophancy gets u no where. corruption i seriously frowned upon and paying taxes is real.
saving is a strong culture u need to inculcate, otherwise it will be a case of living paycheck to paycheck.
Good thing is strong work ethic is rewarded and the system functions relatively ok. so u can easily get by.

As someone trying to japa from Nigeria I want to ask this question
Think outside the box, always think outside the box in every thing u do.

And here's a very good advice 4 ya:
Just start and as you go along you'll receive answers that are FOR YOU! Just because it worked or didn't work for someone else... situations are different, things change.
Most importantly, just start!. If you want anything badly enough you'd get it... only that once you get it, you may realize it's not really what you want!

In the USA student visa thread I gave you a link for, just ask. People won't hesitate to direct you to resources, and give you important information.

You have to do your own research though. It won't be as easy as one link because there are many paths and options, but not everyone will be able to access everything.

Tolu2024:

That is an excellent choice, and a far better deal because all the information you need is free. Textbooks, videos, guides, communities. It's all out there. The industry is also not hard to get into, and you can make a great salary.

Tolu2024:

Before, that would have been a great idea, but Sweden is one of many countries that's shifting to conservative politics. Recently, they were paying immigrants to leave the country. I think it would make more sense to study in America, even with a more conservative government on they way. Things are just much different in the US.

If you still want to explore Sweden as an option, review this thread:

Why have been doing research on Sweden is because you can move with your dependents.
