No be lie, My younger brother went to this school. The day I went to drop him off the porter of their hostel was telling one boy that came down to the Lobby with just Boxers that he will so flog him. Omo I shock . I regret sending my brother to that school he came out to be Otu special not been street wise.

this is utter absolute rubbish from the lecturer. I dont care whether it's public or private university, all this abusive behaviour from some lecturers is pretty disgusting. Do these lecturers see how students in foreign universities are treated? No wonder when nigerian students travel abroad they flourish and excel but truth be told some of these private and even public universities have toxic environment. The energy some of these lecturers exude is narcissistic.some are nobodies outside their office and I'm referring to these older lecturers in their 60s upwards. Those professors don't know the difference between instilling discipline and bullying and when you call them out on their bad behaviour they'll be claiming they have kids your age or older than you.if you check well they're very narcissistic and thrive on bullying, harassment and domineering behaviour. Make those psychopathic old professors go Leeds International University, London or Cambridge University make them tell students make them kneel down whether hand no go touch them.some of these old professors need therapy themselves because they're professors with only book knowledge doesn't mean they don't need psychological check up.

private university is not the problem in itself, its some of dysfunctional staff and mannerless administrators and some uncouth old professors that are put there that is the issue.

You see those old professors that think they know it all.if you look deep down you will see some traits of psychopathy in them. There are sensible ways to discipline undergraduate students without corporal punishment,harassment or bullying. You will only end up raising either rebellious students, slow students or obnoxious and psychopathuc students who can only solve issues by oppressive techniques. Please read wider on mentorship and grooming of youths so you won't be saying stupid things outside.

there's a difference between correction and abusive behaviour for God sake.

I am not against correction but I'm 100 percent against abuse, oppression and intimidation. Moreover there are age appropriate ways of scolding and correction at the University level you don't tell young adults to kneel down. Do you think that will change them? Or do you think students in foreign countries don't misbehave? Of course they do but there are established correctional methods of correcting ,mentoring and moulding them to be decent and respectable young men and women. Little wonder why bullies ,toxic people, psychopaths, narcissists and people obsessed with controlling others full everywhere and in our work spaces. Everyone is struggling and trying to make money not to impact the lives of others or to help and be a positive influence but to oppress, subjugate,buy loyalty and weapon ize poverty. No wonder we have graduates everywhere with mental health issues, drug issues, cultist and lousy behaviour because they didn't have mentors and leaders as lecturers, they had bullies and oppressors.go to private university na druggies full there and all kinds of addicts including sex addicts, religious addicts, slow students etc.i don't even want to talk about the female students, let me no go there.

He is old enough to be their father...helping their parents do what they fail to do.

And this was worth your time? Do you mean you saw anything wrong in what the lecturer did? I'm sorry, only a skewed mind would see something wrong in what the lecturer did. You must be found worthy in learning and character to graduate from a higher institution. Higher institutions (private or public) are not for everyone. He said he promised them that they would not finish from that school if they were not obedient. That wasn't a threat. The university shouldn't be for disobedient children. If they were disobedient, which they were, he was even mild to have asked them to kneel. The other option would have been asking them to face the disciplinary outfit of the institution. The military is the epitome of discipline, the world over. You need to know that the discipline there or anywhere else rides on consequences for actions. Were they NDA students, they would have pooed on themselves for disobedience.

read to understand ,don't read to reply. I didn't say a lecturer cannot scold or correct my child but don't dehumanise them.asking them to kneel down is dehumanising, intimidation and humiliation. There are better ways to correct a student without being abusive.if you're a lecturer I don't need to tell you how to correct student whenever they misbehave my own is just don't use any type of intimidation or force on them because you go write statement taya for police station.

Again don't tell me students will not misbehave, of course they will because theyre young adults and still growing. Many of them are either teenagers or just ended teenage years and lecturing also involves mentoring or mentorship so it is in your place to mentor students and be a positive example to them so theyll be responsible .now since you're an ignorant teacher or lecturer, one of the ways you can punish students for misbehaving without applying corporal punishment is to tell them to do community service. E.g wash the toilets in the school for an allocated number of weeks till you notice he's remorseful or is ready to change.you can also tell him to sweep the classroom or empty the trashcan in the faculty. All these are ways to correct them without mental, physical or psychological abuse
