But they will issue the visitors visa of 6 months right? Cashmadam: |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Cashmadam: 9:43pm On Nov 20, 2024 |
Khalifa001:Sorry about the refusal. From my perspective, you should not reapply anytime soon as you have a lot of things to sort out. First, with no travel history, and a refusal already, you cannot afford to risk a second refusal. Two refusals back to back is not good news. The major issues I can see are: 1. High monthly expenses 2. No major savings and/ or investment 3. No travel history 4. Proposed duration of visit (two weeks max would have been better) 5. No visible ties to Nigeria My advise: 1. You need to build your travel history. Start with a Country with not so stringent rules for visa 2. You need to build your savings - even if your husband will sponsor you... 3. In your next application, reduce the duration of your proposed visit 4. Reduce your monthly expenses... 5. You may consider reapplying alone - using your children as ties to Nigeria. When you get the visa, travel alone, come back then apply with the children for another visit.. Good luck! |

courrage9:Sorry about the refusal. If you have money saved, provide your statement of account. If your Mum has a business, prove it. Somehow. Anyhow. I doubt you can get the visa before your exams. You might have to defer your exams. It is not advisable to reapply in a rush. Two refusals back to back is not desirable. Take your time to address the issues raised in the refusal before you reapply. Good luck! |

Thank you for your quick response. How much do you think I should show as POF for my spouse for that max 2 weeks. I read here that too much or too little is not advisable. Please just work me down the best scenario for success regarding POF and every other thing. Thank you. Cashmadam: |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Cashmadam: 10:19pm On Nov 20, 2024 |
Mutantxcrypto:It's not cast in stone. POF depends on many factors - your income, your expenses, your debt profile etc. Please note that your POF (savings) should be realistic and tally with your income and lifestyle. If I can guess, for 2 weeks, a reasonable POF should be minimum of N6M. That is a little less than 3,000 Pounds. I say minimum because your ticket alone will be minimum of N1.3m or thereabout. Your are not expected to spend all your savings on the trip so if you plan to spend N4m for example, you should have about N8m saved. I hope this helps. |

Hi guys, Please I have a friend who visited the U.K. last year on a visitors visa through her Aunts who applied with her. They’ve both since returned back and she want to renew her visa but unsure what documents to use that’ll boost her chances. For context this lady doesn’t work and depended on her Aunt’s but she want to apply on her own now as it doesn’t seem like the Aunt want to renew her visa anymore. I’m a U.K. citizen and an NHS professional and I’m wondering if providing my passport, work ID and bank statements will counts since she doesn’t work and have no funds of her own to cover the trip. And state that she’s my girlfriend or relative which sounds better? Thanks for your advice in advance. |

Visa alert! 6 months visa for my parents They have both visited the UK a few times between 2011-2014. Their last visas was 2years but I decided to apply for 6months since it’s being a long time they travelled. Biometrics- 5/11/24 Received by DMC- 7/11/24 Collection mail- 21/11/24 Passport collected- 22/11/24 Documents submitted: My Brp Bank statements Payslips Tenancy Agreement Contract letter Utility bill My birth certificate Letter of Invitation Documents submitted for them: Property documents Bank statements- Dad got a letter from church as he had some large deposits for church construction Mum’s bank statements also had large deposits but we didn’t bother to explain Their marriage certificate Consent letter from my sisters who live with them My dad has his own company and they have always used the company document to apply for their UK visa. However, we chose retired for them as the company is no longer doing well with the present state of the economy. As such, we did not submit any retirement letter or pensions. |

Ebunsimi:Congratulations For those of us that applied Via TLSCONTACT before VFS took over from 19th, November kindly help answer this. Who sent collection mail? VFS or TLS? Where did you pick up? VFS or TLS? Thanks |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Ebunsimi: 2:07pm On Nov 22, 2024 |
They received collection mail from TLS yesterday and picked up from there today. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by davodyguy: 2:16pm On Nov 22, 2024 |
Ebunsimi:Thanks It means we would all still get contacted by TLS until 19th December, when they will close down their centres completely |

Hopefully @gerrald02 will also provide some advice. In the meantime, here is what I have to say: 1. Let the spouse who is in the UK use his/her card to make the payment. That is what we did. 2. I don't know. I don't expect you need to but when you fill in the application and you answer the questions one by one, at the end you will see if ECCTIS is needed or not. 3. I am not sure where you are located, but I did mine at IOM, Lagos. It cost about 145k. They are expensive but they had the earliest available appointment dates compared to the other clinics where the UK govt has approved TB testing. If you have the time to spare, then check the other options. It should be less. 4. I don't think there is a straight answer to this; the objective is to demonstrate that you and your spouse have a subsisting relationship. In my case I randomly selected conversations over the last two years. Hope this helps. LeProfessor: |

momomufasa:That ₦44,000 appears to be passport delivery. Is that correct? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by davodyguy: 6:23pm On Nov 22, 2024*. Modified: 7:43pm On Nov 22, 2024 |
DearJane:This letter is very straightforward. 1. How do you support yourself financially in Nigeria? 2. All your family members are in UK, meaning you'll japa and not return 3. Unilag didn't attach your GPA from previous semesters 4. They're not convinced that you're actually a student in Unilag 5. You've not travelled outside the country before, that shows you've previously complied with Immigration rules |
