Ruben, calm down o. Actions speak louder than words. Just do your thing and don’t let the press set you up. |

nitrogen:It is a poisoned chalice. If he decides to do "No comments" the press will turn against him early and run their agendas against him. He has to play nice a bit to get a soft landing with them. The main problem is the inordinate attention the Man Utd job gets. Other managerial positions don't get scrutinized to this level. If you watch the interview, he didn't really say too much but because it has been repeatedly plastered everywhere it comes out different. At least he didn't say all eras come to an end. ![]() |

afrodoc2:One important thing i like from his presser is that its going to be his way from day one. It is the piayers that will have to adapt or get shipped out. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 3:34am On Nov 23, 2024 |
larride:Yes. That was ETH’s major strategic mistake. Dancing from system to system in order accomodate players and achieve short term goals while wasting 2 solid years of potential team development. I hope Amorin sticks to his plan cos if he bows to initial pressure he also will be shown the door before long. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 8:31am On Nov 23, 2024 |
larride:Hopefully he sticks to this. Once a player show they can't improve their work rate and attitude, they get benched and eventually shipped out. No second chance |

TrebleChamp:I still think its too early to start seeing changes. I may be wrong though |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by larride(m): 8:48am On Nov 23, 2024 |
eph12:We'll be playing a totally different system with the same players, we go surely see changes. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by TrebleChamp(m): 9:45am On Nov 23, 2024 |
eph12:True, it is going to be a gradual process. If he stick to his style and principle, the players will have to fit in eventually. Those who are not suited will have to leave the club, as long as he doesn't give certain players (e.g Trashford) preferential treatment.... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 11:09am On Nov 23, 2024 |
TrebleChamp:Based on the fact that some of our better players do not fit perfectly into this new system, there will be some surprise career resurrections and surprise career regressions. The ones that will get shipped out might not be the ones people expect. P.S There might be a shock debut (or at least bench appearance) tomorrow. Stay tuned. |

larride:Ultimately its results that will matter most. Style of play is all nice and dandy but style of play with no results will just turn you into Spurs. God forbid bad thing. Ideally we need both but if we're seeing style of play and no results he go hear am. I wish him all the best. |

afrodoc2:any takers? I'd have stuck my neck for McTominay having much higher goal contributions in this system. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 12:06pm On Nov 23, 2024 |
ChristineC:Lol in which position. He is exactly the type of person that has no place in this system. He can’t be the No 9. He can’t be one of the No 10s because that requires more technique in tight spaces based on those that have played it for Amorim before. The system is built primarily to get the No 9 scoring loads of goals, not the other players. That is why Gyokeres has been so prolific. Other players might get goals in the flow of the game but the CF is the main beneficiary. |

Under-18s are 3-0 up in the first half. Ibragimov with 2 assists. Obi with his customary goal. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 1:28pm On Nov 23, 2024 |
Ibragimov is very good. Extremely talented kid. He was busy creating chances throughout that first half. Scanlon could’ve gotten a brace or more. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 1:40pm On Nov 23, 2024 |
Ellexy:This is the best coaching performance i have seen from an Academy coach. Even those of us watching at home can hear most of his instructions play by play. The coaches them like he is playing PlayStation. The players press like they are possessed, and they are usually very careful with the ball. They also tend to make good decisions on the ball cos their coach is always shouting instructions. It would be interesting to see how they will perform when they are not coached this intensely. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by ChristineC: 1:54pm On Nov 23, 2024 |
afrodoc2:that's fair, but I was specifically looking at his ball carrying. at least for this season, I don't really expect the team to dominate a whole lot of the possession. using a classic example of Sporting Vs City, the guys with legs and a scoring ability will have their application especially when we can't be certain what our CFs will do going forward. what if they continue to shoot blanks? I'm putting Mount in this box of guys with legs as well, fitness permitting. the only proven high goal scorers in this team are Rashford and Bruno, with Garnacho as the obvious guy that may grab the numbers suddenly. of course, if I'm wrong and we average a higher percentage of the ball than I envisage then yeah it would matter less. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by TrebleChamp(m): 2:02pm On Nov 23, 2024 |
afrodoc2:If he does a Fergie by using majorly the academy players to achieve success (top 4 or a trophy) this season, he will automatically become a United legend 😁. He has to be tough with his player selection based on performance only... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 2:05pm On Nov 23, 2024 |
ChristineC:Ball carrying in which position though? There is no space in this system with a player of McTominay's profile. As narrow 10s Bruno, Amad, Rashford, Mount will be as prolific and will fit the system more. There is a minimum level of technical proficiency and comfort with the ball needed in those positions that many people are worrying that even Rashy and Garnacho don't have, not to talk of a donkey like McTominay. Playing a donkey that did not suit the system like McTominay just because he bailed you out with a few goals here and there is one of the many sins of ten Hag. |
