Please leave Kerr to experimenting. It's going to help the team long-term plus less wear and tear on Melton. He knows team management plus stats better than you do. If you want to criticize Steve Kerr, you can start with rotations at specific stretches not on player's management.
Melton is obviously the starting guard and sadly, isn't lucky when it comes to injuries. It's easy to understand sha.

I like how you posed the question. It makes more sense to compare teams than individual players. Still though, the comparison ultimately will not make sense. When you change the rules, you change the winners. Know this and know peace. Celtics that just won the ring spamming 3s would not smell conference finals in any other era. Even from the pictures you shared, you can see one team looking like they could be boxers or nfl players. And another team looking like ballet dancers

A head to head matchup therefore cannot happen, because which rules will you play by? The 80s? or 2010s? All that being said, NBA wants to broaden its reach to new fans, especially women. I dont think new fans want to watch defensive wrestling matches where neither team cracks 90.

However, all that being said, there is one thing that the earlier eras have that is not present today, that could still give them the edge. Mindset. We have a few throwbacks in today's league like Lebron, Durant, Curry. But by and large, with all the skill and training and health protocols, they soft as charmin toilet paper. I think you are being too hard on KCP. KCP is a role player not a 1/2 punch. His value is noticeable in a team with championship aspiration or a deep playoff run. After the championship with the Nuggets, he deserved to get paid and that is what he got.

It doesnt matter who is on the touchline, Denver own Lakers for now.

The KCP I saw last season was not any of that. Especially when you consider that as he's getting older his decline would be steeper. A lot of people said letting go of KCP would hurt the Nuggets but I disagreed and posited that giving him $20+m for his skillset would be asinine

I don't doubt that he deserves his bag. Just not from the Nuggets. He's not that level of player to hold on to at that price
