This first division titles is now called English championship which is presently second division.

Winners of English football league championship are promoted to English premier league.

Why is it that when we count league titles we include pre Premier league era but when it comes to record and stats we only count EPL. Champions league/European Cup counts both. They didn't start counting stats and trophies from when it was rebranded to Champions league.
