I worked odd jobs, like washing cars and carrying loads in the market, just to survive.

Now that you have gotten experience I hope you won’t look down on those carrying load in the market?
It was when I read when you mentioned Bible that I know that you don’t know what you are going into. You wanted to attend church service in Morocco?

You came back with something experience and adventure which many people with 2 million naira will not be able to afford.

Op, thank God you are alive to even regret... Not many were or will be that fortunate.

You see this Japa thing... If you no get the plenty resources (emphasis on PLENTY) and the right papers, just respect your self and value your life by staying back.

Better to manage bulaba and tinubunomics than suffer unimaginable dehumanising situations that will more than likely end your life out there.

As for AGENTS... Those ones are devil incarnate!

There is nothing really complicated about Japa that you can't pursue legitimately by yourself...! Only pay agencies that are registered and well recognised.

I don't believe this story,

Any man that has had a near death experience is not afraid of dying,

Getting to Morocco against all odds should further boost your zeal to cross to Europe, but you saying you returned back to Nigeria by yourself, makes me doubt this story,
It's either it's made up
Or you are not a fighter

We Get what we aim for or we die trying,
There is no grey area once the mind is made up,
A cousin of mine faced exactly same experience. He is back now. Was able to rebuild his life from scratch. Started a business, got married, bought a car and built a little house for himself. When he returned initially, I couldn't recognised him. He was so lean and dark but now he is back to his ebullient self.
Not everything is a lie.

Is crossing over to Europe that easy, the cost, the stress, the processes, the buttons to press, the steps to take and the entirety of the whole process. I also have the ambition of crossing over but you know what people say , when something hasn't happened to you, you will be quick to condemn
You get time dey argue with that one, they just make mouth.

Guy, your write up is topnotch in terms of English usage. Sometimes, we look for opportunities where they are not. Creating a blog and consistently publishing content in your area of expertise like phone repairs and technology would earn you at least $500 per month from affiliate income, contextual adverts like Google Adsense, and so on.

All you needed is at least 6 months of consistent work going forward to start living the life of your dreams.

You don't need to travel abroad the hard way that is not even guaranteed to pan out.

What do you know about life?

That few people succeed down a perilous route doesn't mean several others didn't fail or lose their lives.

Quit confusing luck with determination or expertise.

Over 70% of those who take illegal desert routes never survive to tell the tale... Among those that make it into Europe, some still end up deported.

Things are bad in Naija, agreed! But, not to the extent of seeking greener pastures through dangerous and illegal routes.

Travelling out of Nigeria by road is a terrible thing. Are you from Edo state? Why make such a dangerous risk?

This is why geography and map reading is a must.

You are going to Morocco that is to the extreme northwestern corner of Africa and you board a bus to Kano and then head east to Maiduguri only to head west by another 1,000km to Agadez in central Niger?

The best route would have been cradling the west African coastline from Lagos to Benin, Togo, Ghana , Ivory Coast then through Liberia , Serie Leone to Senegal and from there make your way north through Mauritania on to Western Sahara up to the border to Morroco.

Going through the route OP described nah one heavy Israelite waka.
Dude the road from Senegal to Western Sahara is impassable. Make una dey talk wetin una know. From Liberia to Ivory Coast the road is terrible

Was wondering same.....why would someone who is from Gambia end up in Niger to get to Morocco.....also,how can a man in distress be able to concern himself with the problems of not one but several ladies and you were able to help them all escape commando style.
Agadez is a transit point for those who want to get to Europe using the desert routes. In most cases they go via Algeria or Libya

At least it's safer.

If it's bad, then enter Senegal through Guinea Conakry via Ivory Coast.

An ECOWAS passport which as a Nigerian and entitled to , would've taken you from Lagos all the way to Senegal with zero hassle.

From Senegal you are only 2 countries away from your destination.

You cross into Mauritania and then Western Sahara that is bordering Morocco.

This is the safest and cheapest route.

Ignorance is really a disease.
In Mauritania, the chances of you being kidnapped and sold to slavery is very high.
Re: From Ikorodu To Morocco: My Journey For Greener Pastures by Imma624(m):
No all that glitter are gold.
Thanks for this piece, I hope you're okay now.
But does that mean some of this African countries are filled with trafficked Nigerian girls. FIJ investigative Journalist also documented a story of human trafficking going on in these African countries. Where some guys are trafficked to Burkina Faso under the guise of being secured an imaginary job that pays in Dollar $.

The story becomes more pathetic when you realize the trafficker are Nigerian at times families or close friends (Man inhumanity to man; Nigerian inhumanity to Nigerian) How then do we want to be treated by the White.

Thank God 🙏for being your saving grace ... lesson learnt

They have abolished slavery down there.

It's still far better than crossing the heart of the Sahara in what is ALQIM, ISIS and Bedouin territory.

From Ikorudu - Kano - Maiduguri - Agadez, Niger..

This is the weirdest route ever.

1. Very very doubtful, if an armed robber can even search a baby's diaper, how were they not able to see the alleged $200 OP kept in his socks?

But other than western Sahara, I thought Mauritania is stable.?
